Justin Trudeau Visits Cobourg
On Thursday February 14th, the NQW Federal Liberal Association and the NQW Provincial Liberal Association hosted Justin Trudeau, MP and candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada.
Trudeau was at the Cobourg Community Centre and was hosted by Kim Rudd on behalf of the NQWFLA and by Lou Rinaldi on behalf of the NWQPLA.

Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford Meets Locals in Cobourg
Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford made a campaign stop in Cobourg on Wednesday, April 18 at 12 noon to emphasize debt reduction, job creation and lowering hydro rates.
Ford joined Northumberland-Peterborough South PC candidate David Piccini at the Cobourg Community Centre who met with over 300 people for a meet and greet.
The PC Leader also stopped at Lorenz Conveying Products announcing the fourth of his five priorities in his “Plan For the People of Ontario” to bring manufacturing jobs back to Ontario by cutting corporate taxes to 10.5 from 11.5 percent.

COBOURG FIRE DEPT: New Legislation Requires Homes In Ontario To Install Carbon Monoxide Alarms
You can’t see it, taste it or smell it. Carbon Monoxide is known as the silent killer for a reason.
It is now the law for most homes in Ontario to have a Carbon Monoxide alarm installed. By not having one, you may be breaking the law but also could be putting your family at risk.
The Ontario Fire Code’s new legislation concerning carbon monoxide alarms came into effect October 15. Single-family and residential buildings with up to six suites must comply by April 15, 2015 and buildings with more than six suites must be in compliance by October 15, 2015

Cobourg Games Bid
The Town of Cobourg hosted members of Sports Alliance Ontario and the Ontario Seniors Game Association on April 1st. The purpose of this was to showcase the facilities in and around Cobourg in hopes of winning the bid to host the 2017 Ontario 55+ Winter Games tentatively set for February 21-23.
