Die Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg befindet sich im östlichen Stülerbau und im Marstall gegenüber dem Schloss Charlottenburg. Sie zeigt hochkarätige Werke der Surrealisten und ihrer Vorläufer aus der Stiftung Sammlung Dieter Scharf zur Erinnerung an Otto Gerstenberg. Das Spektrum der Künstler reicht von Piranesi, Goya und Redon bis zu Dalí, Magritte, Max Ernst und Dubuffet.
The Collection Scharf-Gerstenberg can be found in the eastern Stüler building and in the Marstall (stables wing) opposite Charlottenburg Palace. The Collection Scharf-Gerstenberg is exhibiting excellent works by the Surrealists and their forerunners. It presents the holdings of the Stiftung Sammlung Dieter Scharf zur Erinnerung an Otto Gerstenberg, the foundation of the Dieter Scharf collection in remembrance of Otto Gerstenberg. The spectrum of artists ranges from Piranesi, Goya and Redon to Dalí, Magritte, Max Ernst and Dubuffet.

The Scharf-Gerstenberg Collection is an art museum in Berlin.Its collection of paintings, graphics and sculptures, spanning the period from French Romanticism to Surrealism, is currently housed in former rooms of the Egyptian Museum in Charlottenburg on a ten-year loan.It was founded in 2008, and is part of the National Gallery of Berlin.

Egidio Marzona schenkt Werke aus seiner Sammlung
Schenkung von 372 Werken aus der Kunstsammlung Marzona für die Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin.
Am Donnerstag, dem 6.2.2014, unterzeichnen Hermann Parzinger, Präsident der Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz, und Michael Eissenhauer, Generaldirektor der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin, mit Egidio Marzona, Sammler und Stifter, einen Schenkungsvertrag. Damit überführt der Sammler 372 bedeutende Werke aus seiner Kunstsammlung, die sich seit 2002, als Leihgaben in der Nationalgalerie und im Kupferstichkabinett der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin befinden, in das Eigentum der Stiftung.

Vlog 02: Best Museums in Berlin
When we got thinking about what would be the best way to hit 2016 running the first thing to came to mind was a Christmas present we hadn't taken advantage of from last year. Lou's parents gave us two 1-year-passes to all the National Museums in Berlin and somehow the whole year got away from us and we realized we had 3 days left until they expired!!! With our vlogging camera in hand, we decided to race around Berlin to see 12 museums in just 3 days. This video captures our whole adventure and I a proud to say our 2016 goals are already off to a great start! Below you can find the order of all the museums we went too. And for those looking for any recommendations of what to see, we definitely liked the first day the best - with Museum Berggruen and Hamburger Bahnhof being our favorites :)

Seit fast 200 Jahren werden hier hochwertige Kunstrepliken aus überwiegend Berliner, aber auch aus europäischen Museen angefertigt. Als Kunstmanufaktur sieht die Gipsformerei ihre Aufgabe darin, Tradition respektvoll zu behandeln und einmalige Kunstwerke nach überlieferten Fertigungsmethoden, mit sorgfältigster Handarbeit und reichem Spezialwissen zu schaffen. Dadurch repräsentiert sie einzigartig ein Stück Kultur- und Architekturgeschichte der Berliner Museen.
the Gipsformerei proudly looks back on a long tradition and boasts a unique collection of just under 7000 replicas of original works of art taken from all cultures of the world and from all epochs. Besides replicas of works from European and Egyptian art periods, we also offer objects from Central and South America, India and Africa. The oldest replicated artefact is the 25,000 year old Venus of Willendorf, while the largest is the 42 metre high Column of Marcus Aurelius from Rome. We are unique in that, in selecting a work, interested purchasers can choose from our entire collection of moulds, hundreds of which are themselves centuries old.

Hi, my name's Jill, and I'm your personal guide. Along with MyWoWo, I'd like to welcome you to one of the Wonders of the World: the Berggruen Museum.
The Berggruen Museum is one of Germany's most important modern art museums.
It was created in 1996, when the art collector and dealer Heinz Berggruen left his collection to the city of Berlin. When he died in 2007, his heirs pledged to maintain and enrich the splendid collection.
As you can see, there is nothing modern about the building itself. It was built between 1851 and 1859 by Friedrich August Stüler as barracks for officers of the Royal Guard. The building next to it houses another interesting museum, the Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg, which has a collection of Surrealist art featuring works by, amongst others, Dalì, Magritte, Ernst and Dubuffet.
The most important part of the collections in the Berggruen Museum features over 100 works by the great painter Pablo Picasso, who died aged 91, covering the various stages of his lengthy artistic career. You'll find works from his earliest periods, featuring canvases dominated first by shades of blue and then by shades of pink, up until his more audacious Cubist creations.
These works by Picasso are joined by more than 60 striking, creative canvases by Paul Klee, the great Swiss Abstract painter, and twenty by Henri Matisse, leader of the French avant-garde movement of les fauves, the wild beasts, a group of painters active in the early 20th century who believed in the use of strong colors over realistic or representational values…

The Numismatic Collection is one of the largest collections of its kind with around 500,000 objects. Die Kunstbibliothek ist mit ihren rund 400.000 Bänden eine der bedeutendsten kunstwissenschaftlichen Spezialbibliotheken in Deutschland. Ihr reicher Fundus an Fachliteratur zieht jährlich rund 35.000 Leser an. Die Kunstbibliothek erwirbt und erschließt das wissenschaftliche Schrifttum zur europäischen Kunstgeschichte von der Spätantike bis zur Gegenwart und bezieht laufend rund 1400 internationale Zeitschriften. Gleichzeitig sammelt sie in ihren musealen Sammlungen Zeichnungen und Druckgraphiken zur angewandten Kunst. Daneben verfügt sie über eine umfangreiche fotografische Sammlung. The Kunstbibliothek (Art Library) has approximately 400,000 volumes and ranks among Germany's leading institutions specializing in literature concerning the history of art. The library attracts 35,000 visitors annually. The Art Library acquires and researches scientific literature on the history of European art from late antiquity to the present. It also subscribes to 1,400 current international periodicals. In addition, it collects drawings and prints in the area of applied arts and possesses a comprehensive collection of photographs. The library offers visitors a broad range of impressive collections including: architectural and ornamental prints and drawings, the Lipperheide costume library, posters and advertisements, graphic design, book design, photographs. All items are available to visitors in the reading rooms. Selections of works from the library's many collections are regularly presented in special exhibitions. The neighbouring Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings) concentrates primarily on fine art drawings and prints.

Das Kunstgewerbemuseum ist das älteste seiner Art in Deutschland. Es beherbergt weltberühmte Zeugnisse des europäischen Kunsthandwerks und Designs, darunter prunkvolle Reliquiare aus Gold und Edelstein, kostbare Vasen aus Glas oder Porzellan, fein bestickte Kleider, detailreich intarsierte Möbel bis hin zu Klassikern modernen Industriedesigns. Die Dauer- und Sonderausstellungen des Kunstgewerbemuseums können an zwei Orten in Berlin bewundert werden: am Kulturforum nahe dem Potsdamer Platz und im malerisch auf einer Halbinsel in der Dahme gelegenen Schloss Köpenick, wo Meisterwerke der Raumkunst vom 16. bis zum 18. Jahrhundert gezeigt werden.
The Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts) is the oldest of its kind in Germany. It houses world-famous examples of European arts and crafts, including magnificent reliquaries made of gold and precious gemstones, exquisite vases of glass and porcelain, finely embroidered textiles, ornate inlaid furniture, and classic examples of modern industrial design. The permanent and special exhibitions hosted by the Kunstgewerbemuseum can be seen at two locations in Berlin: at the Kulturforum near Potsdamer Platz and in the picturesque setting of Schloss Köpenick on an island on the river Dahme. The Schloss Köpenick site features masterpieces of interior design from the 16th to 18th centuries.
