BHUTAN THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING, TSECHU FESTIVAL, COLOURFUL BHUTAN
I went to Bhutan in Oct 19. I went to Paro and Thimphu but due to festival season I could not get the permit to Punakha, where i also wanted to go. Bhutan is really breathtaking. It was my long pending dream to visit our neighbouring country.
I'm sorry I could not post video recently because I was on trip with my girlfriend to Sri Lanka.

Travel to Bhutan
Bhutan provides a stunning array of photographic opportunities- mountainous landscapes, ancient temples and monasteries, lively, colorful festivals, a timeless Buddhist culture and fascinating people. The Bhutan Ultimate Photography Tour is a suggested itinerary designed to make the most of these incredible features. Taking place in late September/early October, it coincides with the autumn festival season providing a chance to capture images of the Wangdue Tsechu and the Tangbi Mani Festival in a rural setting near Bhutan's spiritual heartland, Bumthang. This tour also visits remote villages, ancient palaces and fortresses, farmhouses, temples and sacred sites throughout Bhutan's western and central valleys.
Featuring a fascinating display of dances, rituals, colorful costumes, and locals gathered in celebration, Bhutan festivals provide an excellent subject for photography. Festivals occur throughout the year, and can easily be incorporated into an itinerary. Please visit our festival section for more suggested itineraries.

Colourful Thimphu city nestled in the middle of mountains in Bhutan
The Kingdom’s capital city is home to approximately 100,000 inhabitants including the Royal family. This bustling little city is the main centre of commerce, religion and government in the country. The juxtaposition of ancient tradition and modernity make Thimphu the ideal location for visitors to break away from their tour itinerary to immerse themselves in the contemporary Bhutanese lifestyle.
Thimphu is the most modern city in Bhutan with an abundance of restaurants, internet cafes, nightclubs and shopping centres. However, it still retains its’ cultural identity and values amidst the signs of modernization. Thimphu is one of the few towns in Bhutan that have been equipped with ATM banking facilities and is a good place to stock up on some currency.
There are several attractions in Thimphu such as the National Post Office, the Clock Tower Square, the Motithang Takin Preserve, Tango and Chari Monasteries, Buddha Dordenma, National Memorial Chorten, Centenary Farmer's Market, Semtokha Dzong to name a few. These form the most important tourist attractions in the capital city.

Thimphu Tshechu & Holiday in Bhutan in Summer 2014
It's one of the mega events in the country and equally anticipated and enjoyed by both the Bhutanese and visiting tourists alike. It is festive, colorful and a time to socialize and feast with your loved ones. Bhutanese people dressed in their finest attires and embellishments attend these festivals, an eye fest for the tourists of both the colorful festival and the equally colorful Bhutanese people.

Hey guys,
The fourth and last episode of Bhutan Travel Vlog is right up. This video is all about my 7th and 8th day in Bhutan, covering up my experience at Chelela Pass and Haa Valley.
I spend around 20k with all the transport, stay and shopping in a 8 days trip to Bhutan. I had done my bookings through a travel agent (B. K Tours and Travels) who operates from Jaigaon. Mr. B. K. Prasad is the first person to start off with a travel agency for Bhutan trips in Jaigaon, and he provided with a top notch service.

Few points that I would like to share -
◙ If you are visiting to Bhutan, don't make it a less than 7 days trip, because it's always good to explore the local culture and people, when you are going to another country/ state.
◙ You can use Indian currency in Bhutan. In few places 2000 rupees note is not accepted, but otherwise 100 and 500 notes are acceptable mostly everywhere in Bhutan.
◙ Our driver, Pritam Bhaiya was a fun loving guy and very helpful too. You can contact him for transport service. Here's his number - 9609749109, Bhutan number - +97577340525).
Here's my complete 8 days itinerary -
◙ Day 1 - Hasimara to Phuentsholing (Cab cost - 600 INR, Car Type - Maruti Suzuki Ertiga). Stay at Phuentsholing (Hotel Shelgoen, per night cost - 1000 INR).
◙ Day 2 - Phuentsholing to Thimphu. Cab was arranged by the travel agent (Cab Type - Wagon R). Night Stay at Thimphu (Hotel Welcome Home - per night double bedroom fare - 1500 INR)
◙ Day 3 - Thimphu Sightseeing. Night stay at Thimphu.
◙ Day 4 - Drive from Thimphu to Punakha, on the way sightseeing, and stop at Dochula Pass. Night stay at Punakha. (Hotel Lingar - per night stay 1800 INR for double bedroom)
◙ Day 5 - Drive from Punakha to Paro via Thimphu. Went to National Museum of Bhutan. Night Stay at Hotel Yarkhel (Per night room rent - 1500 INR)
◙ Day 6 - Hike to Tiger's Nest. Night Stay at Paro.
◙ Day 7 - Tour to Haa Valley, via Chelela Pass (offbeat places in Bhutan). Chelela Pass is the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. Night stay at Paro.

Chapter One | My Travel Diary: BHUTAN
My Travel Diary: BHUTAN, a new series by AdoramaTV, takes viewers on an unforgettable journey through Bhutan. Joined by travel photographer Natalie Amrossi @misshattan.
Bhutan is a country where mountainous beauty meets ancient culture. This remote land with friendly and happy people awaits you and your camera. Bhutan, nestled in the Himalayas between China and India, will capture your heart and inspire your creativity with stunning photographic opportunities that range from precariously perched hillside Dzongs to the vibrantly colorful Tshechu Festival. The unique cultural heritage that has remained intact due to isolation until the mid-20th century continues to be persevered through traditions steeped in Buddhist heritage.

Sikkim and Bhutan (Asia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Sikkim and Bhutan.
Surrounded by the world’s highest mountains is a fascinating world whose exotic charm enchants all who experience it, from the plains of West Bengal up into the Himalayas. Siliguri is a vibrant city located within India’s Terai Plain, a peaceful provincial town with calm streets and shops that once supplied the region’s tea pickers with their daily needs, has been transformed into an important crossroads for travellers to the Himalayas. Siliguri Train Station is the starting point of one of the most famous train journeys in the world, the Darjeeling Himalaya Toy Train which climbs to an altitude of more than two thousand metres, negotiates eight hundred and seventy three bends and crosses more than five hundred bridges. Sikkim is strongly associated with Tibet and possesses more than two hundred monasteries. The most holy monastery of the Nyingmapa Schools is in Tashiding and is located on a mountain in the east of the country along the route from Darjeeling. The independent kingdom of Bhutan is located in Southeast Asia, most of it being two thousand metres above sea level and is situated between India in the south and Tibet in the north. Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan. An array of prayer flags adorn a bridge in the centre of the city and close by is the large Tshonhkhang Marketplace, a colourful meeting place for both farmers and traders. For more than a thousand years Bhutan has survived in self-imposed isolation, cut off from the outside world by its own deliberate policy. Sikkim and Bhutan: two gems of history, monastic culture and religious life.
