This video is of the Overlook Park at Canyon Lake Texas. It is free to get into the park so it can get a little busy. The hike down to the shore is not too hard, there is a lot of loose gravel and no stairs. The lake offers a good shoreline with nice blue water to swim in or just to relax by.
There isn't much of a beach, just a lot of rocks, no trees, and no shade. If you go the upper parking lot and take the trail down you will be by the cliffs. The trash cans need to be emptied more often, but otherwise, it is a very nice park.

Before I got settled and ready for the Fischer Musical Festival I got dinner at BAJA BBQ Shack up the road in Canyon Lake Texas.
To my surprise they had some great brisket and a awesome Mac & Cheese!

Guadalupe River Tubing Near New Braunfels And Canyon Lake Texas
New Braunfels tubing opportunities attract thousands of visitors to the Texas Hill Country on both weekdays and weekends to enjoy floating the Guadalupe River below the Canyon Lake dam.
River float tubes can be rented at one of several locations along Highway 306, which crosses the Guadalupe near Sattler Texas, about 15 miles west of New Braunfels.
I shot this cell phone video during a visit to the Guadalupe River RV resort in June 2013.

Search Video: Sunday June 26th 2011, Comal Park, Canyon Lake, Texas
The video shows some of the hazards our divers encountered in the 60 foot range of the area we were searching for Matthew Arzate off Comal Park. Conditions worsened as divers progressed deeper, with visibility closing to zero and much more dense with trees and fishing line.
This section of video was 18 minutes into a dive at 10:35 am at a depth ranging from 59 to 65 feet with water temperature ranging fro 59 to 56 degrees. In summary, the conditions are cold dark and dangerous with entanglement hazards, only getting worse as we went deeper in this area of the lake.
The San Marcos Area Recovery Team is a volunteer non-profit (501 c 3) dive team consisting of EMS, Police, and Fire personnel funded by donations from the public.

Comal Springs at Landa Park in New Braunfels Texas
The Comal Springs are the LARGEST in Texas and the American Southwest. Seven major springs and dozens of smaller ones occur over a distance of about 4,300 feet at the base of a steep limestone bluff in New Braunfels' Landa Park. The Springs and the Comal River below are home for a federally endangered species, the Fountain Darter. In Spanish, 'comal' is a flat griddle used for cooking tortillas, so the name probably refers to the flat area below the bluff where the springs issue forth. This is video footage of the largest and most easily visited spring - just west of Landa Park Drive. Ironically, the Comal RIVER is said to be the shortest river in the United States.
