Climbing TALLEST BUILDING in GERMANY / Commerzbank Tower / 300m
For a long time people have been trying to get to the top of the Commerzbank Tower.
So far, however, no one has managed to get further than the lower roof.
Now with the help of some good friends @ordeuz managed to climb the antenna on the top roof and record some epic shots of his adventure.

Commerzbank Tower is a 56-story, 259 m (850 ft) skyscraper in the Innenstadt district of Frankfurt, Germany. An antenna spire with a signal light on top gives the tower a total height of 300.1 m (985 ft). It is the tallest building in Frankfurt, the tallest building in Germany and the second tallest building in the European Union. It had been the tallest building in Europe from its completion in 1997 until 2003 when it was surpassed by the Triumph-Palace in Moscow. The Commerzbank Tower is only two metres taller than the Messeturm, which is also located in Frankfurt. The Messeturm had been the tallest building in Europe before the construction of the Commerzbank Tower.
Commerzbank Tower was designed by Foster & Partners, with Arup and Krebs & Kiefer (structural engineering), J. Roger Preston with P&A Petterson Ahrens (mechanical engineering), Schad & Hölzel (electrical engineering). Construction of the building began in 1994 and took three years to complete. The building provides 121,000 m2 (1,300,000 sq ft) of office space for the Commerzbank headquarters, including winter gardens and natural lighting and air circulation. The building is lighted at night with a yellow lighting scheme that was designed by Thomas Ende who was allowed to display this sequence as a result of a competition.
In its immediate neighbourhood are other skyscrapers including the Eurotower (home of the European Central Bank), the Main Tower, the Silberturm, the Japan Center and the Gallileo, the latter being also owned and used by Commerzbank. The area forms Frankfurt's central business district, commonly known as Bankenviertel.

The Commerzbank was the world’s first ecological high-rise tower. Natural ventilation prediction was 65% of the year. Actual use of natural ventilation is 85% of the year with air conditioning switched off. Winter gardens linked to a central atrium spiral up the tower to become the visual and social focus for the clusters of offices.
Deutsche Bank & Commerzbank merger: pros & cons | DW News
Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank are the largest banks in Germany. Charting a New Course - Commerzbank CEO Martin Blessing | Made in Germany
Commerzbank CEO Martin Blessing has been under sharp scrutiny by the media and public for some time now. That's in large part due to the government bailout of his bank. Even today, the German government holds a 17-percent stake in the lender. Now Martin Blessing is the first top banker to take on what he sees as the problematic ties between the state and the banking industry.
Carmen Meyer reports on a top banker's take on the finance industry.

Made in Germany | Commerzbank - The Government Goes Into Banking
For the first time since the Second World War, the German government is taking a stake in a major bank. The government will own more than a 25 percent share of Germany's second-largest bank and thus have a say over the way the institution is run.
In the wake of the global financial crisis, Germany has now joined the ranks of other European countries like Britain and Belgium in partially nationalising a major bank. Christoph Kober provides an overview of financial institutions in crisis.

Frankfurt - Germany's ultimate skyline

Over the past 25 years, stunning skyscrapers have been rising up in Frankfurt to form Germany’s most impressive
skyline. This breathtaking silhouette includes Commerzbank Tower, the tallest building in Germany. It is also no
surprise that the city is home to Europe’s third biggest airport, with 1,400 planes arriving and departing every day
and up to 90 take-offs and landings per hour. Frankfurt also prides itself on its heritage, including the old quarter
around the Römer town hall and the house in which Goethe was born.
Many thanks to and

Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt
Here you can see Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt. It is Germany´s highest building. If you see that, you can get the feeling, that you are somewhere in Chicago or New York.
