FETHIYE, Turkey. A less popular destination that I felt in love with.... (Travel.Learn.Thrive!)
Fethiye is a coastal city and port located in the south of Turkey, not so much advertised as other cities at the sea like Bodrum, Marmaris, Kusadasi, Kemer, and so on...
This video contains a selection of things to do in Fethiye and what i particularly loved about this place:
- The road from Antalya to Fethiye
- The Fish Market
- The local market
- The boat trip with Cevdet Kaptan
- Fethiye downtown
- The restaurants on the seashore
- Oludeniz Blue Lagoon Beach
- Yacht Classic Hotel
In the end, all I can say is that I’m definitely hooked on Fethiye. It’s one of those little pieces of Heaven on Earth for me…
4 Days in Turkey

A Yummy Turkish Breakfast in Urla
Urla is a small town 30 minutes by car outside Izmir. It has a population of 50.000 and thanks to the 6 lane highway, Urla is only 35km from Izmir center.
You can enjoy a lovely day in Urla with sea, forest and meal joy.
Also it is a nice selection to make a good breakfast.
Our recommendation among dozens of breakfast houses is Yoruk family restaurant.

Western Turkey
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | From the port of Kuşadası, we wander the streets of ancient Ephesus, soak in a natural spa at Pamukkale, learn why the dervishes whirl at Konya, munch lunch in a Turkish pizzeria, and cruise the Mediterranean on a traditional Turkish gulet from Antalya. Turkey is a mighty nation whose ancient heritage, Muslim faith, and western ways are coming together...and we’ll see how. | © 2014 Rick Steves' Europe

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Our First Turkish Breakfast! Istanbul VS Antalya. OMG ???? What to EAT in Turkey ????????
During our time in Turkey, we went on a mission to try to find the best Turkish Breakfast!
We started in the South of Turkey while staying in the small town of Kas so that we could try out a traditional breakfast from Antalya (the region). We went to a restaurant right in town called Pell’s.
The next stop on our trip was Istanbul so of course we tried a traditional breakfast here as well. This time we found a well rated restaurant near the area of Karakoy called Doğaciyiz Gourmet.
At the end we could not pick a favourite! One of the things we loved about a Turkish breakfast is that everywhere you go does it slightly different and you get to try so many different things at each meal.
ABOUT TURKISH BREAKFAST
Turks usually prefer a rich breakfast. A typical Turkish breakfast consists of cheese (beyaz peynir, kaşar etc.), butter, olives, eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, jam, honey, and kaymak, sucuk (spicy Turkish sausage, can be eaten with eggs), pastırma, börek, simit, poğaça and soups are eaten as a morning meal in Turkey. A specialty for breakfast is called menemen, which is prepared with tomatoes, green peppers, onion, olive oil and eggs. Invariably, Turkish tea is served at breakfast. The Turkish word for breakfast, kahvaltı, means before coffee (kahve, 'coffee'; altı, 'under').

The beauty of CESME, Turkey. It was love at first sight! (Travel.Learn.Thrive!)
I loved Cesme in Turkey, i would visit it again every time i get the chance. I have described some of the beaches i went to, things to do in Cesme and also added some of the ... unexpected things i saw in Cesme.
Yes it's true what they say about Cesme is windy...very windy, but you get used to it in a couple of days. The whole area is built with such a taste that you forget you're in Turkey. All the houses are splendid, the Cesme Marina is exquisite and the restaurants have great food.
Don't be scared if you hear that Cesme is expensive, it's actually cheaper than Marmaris or Bodrum. You will see more Turkish tourists here than in the most known beach cities in Turkey, but also a lot of English and Italians.
The service is perfect, Turkish people know how to make you feel like a star. I encourage you to discover Cesme!
We Tried Traditional Turkish Foods in Canakkale & Ayvalik
Our Turkey adventure beyond Istanbul begins as we leave the city to make our way towards Canakkale but not before stopping to pay our respect at Gallopoli for the ANZAC troops.
Our evening in Canakkale lead us to trying some traditional Turkish foods that you guys have been recommending we try since the last video.
After checking out the Trojan horse from Troy we made jumped on our first Turkish bus experience and headed out to Avyalik to find a few more dishes.
We caught a boat over to the island of Cunda, a vacation island for the Turks.
Traditional Turkish Foods we tried:
- Truck Stop Gozleme
- Midye Dolma - Stuffed Mussels
- Sardines
- Peynir Helvasi (Cheese desert)
- Lokma (Donut balls)
- Ayvalık Toast

THREE SIDES OF TURKEY - YWAM Bible Core Course VLOG
Turkey was our third and longest location. We were there for almost two weeks and were busy the whole time. However, we did manage to have a good mix of work and play. Plus, it was great when work and play mixed together like they did in Ephesus. Overall, we had a great time and delved super deep in the Word. Enjoy! x
