RIO DE JANEIRO - SUGARLOAF, CORCOVADO, and CHRIST the REDEEMER - 2019 vlog
In this vlog, we are exploring Rio De Janeiro from the top of the highest peaks - Corcovado and Sugarloaf. The landscapes of sea and mountain earned the city a spot on UNESCO. During our trip, we fall in love with the natural beauty, the spirit of the fun loving Brazilian people, fútbol traditions, and street art of this vibrant, energetic city.
We take the cable car up Sugarloaf (Pão de Açúcar) mountain, which overlooks the entire city and Guanabara Bay. Next, we take the tram to the top of Corcovado to visit the iconic Art Deco statue the reigns over the city, Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). From the top, we can spot almost every corner of Rio de Janeiro.

Hi, I am Naomi and I am very exited to show you the world's greatest attractions.

The easiest way to the six hundred and thirty five time wonder is through a cogwheel train.
Christ the Redeemer is a hundred and thirty foot tall and ninety eight foot wide statue of Jesus Christ, it perseveres through all kinds of weather on Corcovado Mountain.
Christ the Redeemer's reinforced concrete and soap stone eyes watch over the city, it is said to be the world's largest art deco statue.
Not surprisingly, Christ the Redeemer has become an iconic landmark.
Thank you for watching our travel video series, see you next time.
Riding the cogwheel trolley up Corcovado part 2, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Christ the Redeemer statue
Thursday, May 17, 2012, 11:32 AM. This second video of the ascent of the electric cogwheel trolley up Mount Corcovado to the famous Christ the Redeemer statue begins with a longer look into the unused rear control cabin. Many of you probably know more what you're looking at here than I do; to me it's some controls and some red LED lights that change as the train accelerates. At about 3:55 we pass a descending train that has pulled onto one of the sidings. Although the train ascends through a jungle-covered mountain, there are several stops along the way. This video ends at Paneira's Station and I briefly show the Do Not Lean Out of the Window sign and the small schematic map of the trolley route with all the stops.

Trem do Corcovado Hyperlapse: Train ride to Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
In our opinion, the best way to visit Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) is to take the Corcovado Train (Trem do Corcovado) from the station at Cosme Velho to the summit of the Corcovado Mountain where you have otherworldly views Rio de Janeiro. The 3.8 kl line has been in operation since 1884 and the train trip is approximately 20 minutes (one way); however, the ticket you purchase provides you with a return journey. If you decide to take this route, as opposed to a tourist van or hiking, you'll have experienced the same trip as Albert Einstein and Diana, Princess of Wales.
Our video is hyperlapse (time-lapse) of the entire journey from Cosme Velho to Corcovado mountain and return from Corcovado mountain to Cosme Velho. You'll also notice we've added a few clips of Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) that we snapped from the top along with some stunning views of the city and beaches below.

The View from Mount Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Thursday, May 17, 2012, 11:57 AM. Looking around from the top of Mount Corcovado. At ten seconds into the video, we're looking across the bay at Pao de Acucar, or Sugar Loaf, another of Rio's world-famous landmarks. A fight scene in a James Bond movie (I always forget which one) takes place on the roof of the cable car from the smaller mountain to the top of Sugar Loaf. At the end of the video, I pan around to the Christ the Redeemer statue itself, still engulfed in a thin cloud that had covered the top of the mountain that morning.
