The Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre is a fantastic experience for all in the family to experience the excitement of aviation.
CAHC celebrates and presents Britain’s aviation heritage from the age when it proudly lead the World.
Set amongst the massive, looming silhouettes of a complex of ex-RAF HAS (Hardened Aircraft Shelter) buildings.
They were designated as a forward operating base for the Buccaneer Maritime Strike force.
They were later used by various aircraft on exercise such as Typhoons, Jaguars, F16s and finally, in 2008, the last two types to use the HAS site were Harriers and Tornados.
CAHC puts you straight into the atmosphere of 1950s, 60s and 70s military flying – and then we offer you a Cornish cream tea and a chance to stock up on gifts and momentos for yourself and for those who can only wish they were here.
CAHC isn’t just about walking around and looking at these amazing, historic aircraft — there are always staff and volunteers about who love nothing better than telling you all about the exhibits.
Many of our people have worked or flown in them during their own careers and have all the facts and stories that will make you gasp and laugh.
Looking is good, listening is great, but touching is better!
It is our plan to make every aircraft accessible, inside and out, so that you can have a guided tour (of the big ones) or sit in the pilot’s seat of the fighters and imagine what it might be like to hurtle through the heavens at the speed of sound, 10 miles (that’s 15 kilometres) up in the sky.

Newquay is a town on the north coast of Cornwall, in southwest England. It’s known for sandy Fistral and Watergate Bay beaches, where waves from the Atlantic Ocean create strong surf. On the seafront, the Blue Reef Aquarium features an underwater tunnel going through a coral-reef tank with pufferfish, sharks and rays. Further inland, surrounded by tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to lions, wildebeest and sloths.
Newquay is a town, civil parish, seaside resort and fishing port in Cornwall, England, UK. Newquay is situated on the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall approximately 20 miles (32 km) west of Bodmin and 12 miles (19 km) north of Truro. Newquay is bounded to the west by the River Gannel and its associated salt marsh, and to the east by the Porth Valley. Newquay has been expanding inland (south) since it was founded.
Newquay has been a major tourist destination for more than a century, principally on account of its coastline and nine long and accessible sandy beaches, including Fistral. Around 22,000 people live in Newquay, but the population can increase to 100,000 or more in the summer because Newquay has a large stock of holiday accommodation.
Newquay is also known for the Run to the Sun event, which always takes place during the public holiday on the last weekend in May at Trevelgue Holiday Park. People visit the town in Volkswagen camper vans, Beetles and other custom cars. Established in sections throughout the 20th century, Trenance Leisure Gardens are sited in a wooded, formerly marshy valley on the quieter edge of Newquay, stretching down to the Gannel Estuary. From the Edwardian era it provided recreation for tourists with walks.
Newquay railway station is the terminus of the Atlantic Coast Line from Par. Newquay Cornwall Airport provides links to many other parts of the United Kingdom. National Express runs coaches from various parts of Great Britain to Newquay. Newquay has a good local bus network: the principal operator is First South West.

Plane spotting at Newquay airport on Thursday 19/7/18
While I was on holiday in Cornwall for a week, I visited Newquay airport for two reasons, one for a bit spotting to see what I could get second to visit the Cornwall aviation heritage museum. The airport was surprisingly busy. There was some great diversity in the movements. There was Military aircraft training, light aircraft training there were private aircraft coming and going. There was a lot of royal navy aircraft presumably because of the close proximity to the ocean and RNAS Culdrose. All I a very interesting airport to visit. it's also peaceful and the scenery around the airport is lovely, so it makes it pleasant one to visit. The spotting location is brilliant. it gives a view from the sort of above and to the side of the airfield. You can see the entire runway from here.
The reason for me choosing Newquay was that it was the closest airport to us. It also had more aircraft at it I wanted to capture and of course the Museum. I arrived at 10:10am to 14:20pm. This all the information you need about the aircraft featured in this video:

Places to see in ( Gunnislake - UK )
Places to see in ( Gunnislake - UK )
Gunnislake is a large village in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated in the Tamar Valley approximately ten miles north of Plymouth Gunnislake is in the civil parish of Calstock and is close to Cornwall's border with Devon which follows the course of the River Tamar. It has an electoral ward in its own name which includes much of Calstock and the surrounding area. The population at the 2011 census was 4,574.
The village has a history of mining although this industry is no longer active in the area. During the mining boom in Victorian times more than 7000 people were employed in the mines of the Tamar Valley. During this period Gunnislake was held in equal standing amongst the richest mining areas in Europe
There has recently been discovered a significant Roman fort on the outskirts of Calstock, the largest known Roman site in Cornwall and the famous painting by Turner 'Crossing the Brook' exhibited in 1815 is in fact a view of Newbridge. Newbridge was built c. 1520: it is 182 feet long and has seven arches. It is built of large regular granite blocks and is considered by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner to be the best of the Cornish granite bridges.
Gunnislake's development was primarily due to the dramatic increase in mining and industrial activity in the nineteenth century. Mining provided around 7000 jobs at its peak in 1862. Most mining activity ceased in the late nineteenth century which has bequeathed interest for archaeologists and students of industrial heritage. As well as mining, other industry such as brickworks and quarries were present. Nearby, locations such as Kit Hill, Morwellham Quay, Cotehele and Calstock were mined and quarried and the Tamar was used for transporting the raw material obtained from the works. Arsenic was produced at Greenhill, Gunnislake until at least 1930.
The area is mainly residential with a small handful of businesses ranging from pubs to garages and small shops. Gunnislake is located in the Tamar Valley designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, though some recent industrial development has been attempted and achieved. Within early 2006 Hingston Down Quarry installed a new asphalt production tower which is easily noticeable as it is proud of the skyline of Gunnislake.
Gunnislake railway station is the northern terminus of the Tamar Valley Line, which connects the villages of the Tamar valley with the city of Plymouth. (See also Plymouth, Devonport and South Western Junction Railway.) Gunnislake is now the terminus of the line but until 1966 it continued north to Callington. In 1994 the station was resited to remove a low road bridge. Contentiously debated in the local press, the future of Gunnislake's rail-link with Plymouth has, in recent years, come under threat by the proposed re-establishment of a disused railway line between Tavistock and Plymouth.
( Gunnislake - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Gunnislake . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Gunnislake - UK

An introduction to the Museum of Army Flying Memorial Book
Lt Gen Sir Gary Coward introduces the Museum of Army Flying Memorial Book.
The Memorial, located in the grounds of the Museum of Army Flying in Middle Wallop, next to the Army Air Corps airfield, is the only one to feature the 5,127 names of every person lost in the service of British Army Flying, commemorating those lost from the Royal Engineers in the late 1800s through to personnel in today’s Army Air Corps.
This book provides more information and personal tributes to those people named on the Memorial which can be added to by those who are connected to them.
Museum Of Army Flying Is Shutting Down For The Winter
The Museum of Army Flying in Middle Wallop is to shut down over the winter for renovations, which is part two of Project Eagle. Before they close though they are holding a number of events at the Museum. They include a halloween themed week and a talk about the First World War air aces. We went over to the Museum to find out what's in store.
