State Highway 76 - Silver Dollar City - Downtown Branson - Missouri | Drive America's Highways ????
???? Drive America's Highways for 11 miles east along Missouri State Route 76 from Silver Dollar City to the Branson Landing in downtown Branson, Missouri.
WATCH THIS ROUTE THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION:
Take a mid-afternoon drive east down the Country Music Boulevard in Branson, Missouri -- the live music show capital of the world. We start the drive having just left Silver Dollar City, merging onto Missouri State Highway 76 towards Branson.
Our first interchange, shortly after we start, is with Missouri Highway 265 which will take you down to Table Rock Lake State Park and ultimately back to US Highway 65, just south of Branson.
Continuing east, we pass the Ozark Mountain High Road (Missouri 465) before reaching the Shepherd of the Hills complex before entering Branson proper.
Entering Branson, we cross the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and begin driving the Branson Strip -- a stretch of road that is about 4 miles in length yet, even on a good day, will take at least 20 minutes to traverse. Someone at MoDOT thought it would be cute to cram 10,000 cars down a 2-lane highway 4 times a day at least. But I digress. The Branson Strip is where you will find most anything and everything in Branson. Granted, some of the newer stuff is on the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, but the vast majority is on 76.
At the Titanic museum, we cross Missouri Highway 165 which will take you back to Table Rock Lake and to MO-265. Continuing east, we pass more theaters and restaurants before finally reaching U.S. Highway 65 -- the main highway in and out of Branson.
Passing US-65, we start down the mountain into historic Downtown Branson where we meet probably the longest (and not properly working) stoplight in existence. Most of the lights in Branson are long, but this one really takes the cake. You will see. At this light, Missouri Highway 76 (and US-65B) turn right leaving us on an local street for the remainder of the video. We continue straight down Main Street until the end of the road at Branson Landing Road and the Branson Landing.
NOTE: We are using a new camera -- GoPro Hero 5. That allows us cool new features like the map overlay and compass you see in the video. We are experimenting with this feature in the next few videos -- we hope you like it.
Secondly, this entire video is in real time, with the exception of the stop lights. Like we said, the lights in Branson are LONG. So when we are stopped at a light, we speed the video up almost to 500%.
Lastly, there is a segment of the video where we cross the double yellow and almost have a head-on with another car. Let this be a lesson, folks, that kids need to be strapped in and duct taped shut -- kidding, but you know what we mean.
Update: 10/19: As of October 25, 2019, This is no longer Missouri Highway 76, as MO-76 has been re-routed to the Highroad.

State Route 76 - Branson - Missouri | Drive America's Highways ????
???? Drive America's Highways for 5 miles west along Missouri Route 76 in Branson.
WATCH THIS ROUTE THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION:
We start the route at the intersection of Missouri Route 76 and Business 65 in downtown Branson. Continuing west, we cross US Highway 65 and reach Roark Valley Rd, where MO-76 becomes known as then Branson Strip -- where all the fun stuff is to do.
As we turn left at the Y, we continue on 76 west through the entertainment district of Branson. At any other time of the day, this road is bumper to bumper traffic. If you are trying to get west of Branson, there are various alternate routes you can take. We don't recommend using this route as a through route. But we digress.
Driving down the strip we pass the Dixie Stampede, the Track and other various attractions and theaters. We cross Missouri Route 176 about 2/3 of the way through the video (you will see the Titanic Museum and the Branson Wheel) before 76 turns northwest towards Silver Dollar City and even more attractions.
Towards the end of the video, 76 plays host to more traditional tourist traps, such as the Cracker Barrel and various fast food shacks. At Missouri Highway 376 and the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway interchange, we end the video as we turn east on the expressway.

Branson is an Ozark town in southwest Missouri known as a family vacation destination. Its 76 Country Boulevard is famously lined with theaters, which once hosted mostly country music performers but today present diverse entertainment. Also along the strip are the Marvel Cave, the Wild West-style Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction and Silver Dollar City, an 1800s-themed amusement park with live music.
Branson has long been a popular destination for vacationers from Missouri and neighboring areas. The collection of entertainment theaters along 76 Country Boulevard (and to a lesser extent along Shepherd of the Hills Expressway), including Dolly Parton's Stampede, has increased Branson's popularity as a tourist destination. Branson now draws visitors from all regions of the country and even internationally.
Besides the numerous entertainment theaters for which Branson is famous, other local attractions include Hollywood Wax Museum Branson, Silver Dollar City, White Water, Mount Pleasant Winery, Curling Vine Winery, Ride the Ducks, Dolly Parton's Stampede, ziplines, cave tours, go-karts, mini golf, and more. Ripley's Odditorium is housed in a building that has been made to look as if it is cracked wide open by an earthquake or other disaster, while the Titanic Museum is a half-scale replica of the famous ship and iceberg.
Branson Landing opened in the summer of 2006 on the Lake Taneycomo waterfront in downtown Branson. The lakefront project includes retail space with Bass Pro Shops and Belk as anchors in an outdoor shopping mall of stores and restaurants. It also features a scenic boardwalk along the lakefront with the Branson Landing Fountains at the heart of the property as well as a Hilton Hotel. Branson Landing has been known to host summer concerts and other special events throughout the year. The convention center, situated between Branson Landing and Historic Downtown Branson, opened September 7, 2007. The Branson Scenic Railway is located in the old depot, across from Branson Landing.
Hokey Branson is a cheerfully shameless tourist resort. The main attractions are the more than 50 theaters hosting 100-plus country music, magic and comedy shows. The neon-lit '76 Strip' (Hwy 76) packs in miles of motels, restaurants, wax museums, shopping malls, fun parks and theaters. Drive just a few minutes out of town, however, and you'll find yourself in pristine Ozark wilderness.

This is my first YouTube video about traveling. Traveling is a part of my life and I believe it is the same for most of you. We all need to get away from our daily routines, right? Since I moved to the US, I haven’t been able to travel much simply because I couldn’t take a flight, and it has been extremely painful for me. Now that I can travel and of course when time permits I prefer to fly somewhere with a lot of nature.
Branson is a town in the Ozark mountains in southwestern Missouri (MO) and is known as a family vacation destination. It’s 76 Country Boulevard is famously lined with theatres, which once hosted mostly country music performers but today presents more diverse entertainment. Also along the strip are the Marvel Cave, the Wild West Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction, and Silver Dollar City which is a 1800’s themed amusement park with live music.
Places I think you must go in Branson:
Branson landing fountain:
165 Scenic Overlook:
Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show:
Best BBQ restaurant:
We also stayed at Big Cedar in Ridgedale, which is an unincorporated community in southern Taney County, Missouri, United States. It lies about ten miles south of Branson on U.S. Route 65 near the Arkansas state line.
Places I think you must go near Branson for get-aways:
Table rock lake:
Dogwood Canyon: dogwoodcanyon.org/Default.aspx
I think Branson is really a good place to go if you are celebrating, be it family, friends or romance. Trust me, it will definitely put you center stage. The live show hosts will never forget to mention any guests' birthdays or anniversaries. Besides its live shows, it is also a nature-lovers paradise. You won't need to worry about where to go spend your time over there. As we are talking about time, if you like colors or like photography, I think Autumn is definitely the best time to go visit Branson. Each year from mid-Sep to November the Ozark Mountains are full of the rich fall colors of red, orange, and yellow. The Ozarks from afar are just stunning. So definitely plan ahead.
More of my USA travel videos will come up soon.
