Weymouth Bay and The Esplanade - England, UK
Weymouth Bay is a sheltered bay on the south coast of England, in Dorset. It is protected from erosion by Chesil Beach and the Isle of Portland, and includes several beaches, notably Weymouth Beach, a gently curving arc of golden sand which stretches from the resort of Weymouth. Weymouth Bay is situated approximately halfway along the UNESCO Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, a 153-kilometre (95 mi) long stretch of coast, important for its varied geology and many unique landforms.
Boundary
When Natural England looked at access to Weymouth Bay prior to the 2012 Olympic Games, they defined it as the stretch between Rufus Castle on the Isle of Portland and Lulworth Cove, an area which covers Portland Harbour, Weymouth Beach and Ringstead Bay.[1]
Sailing
The bay's waters are excellent for sailing — the best sailing waters in northern Europe,[2] in part because the bay is sheltered from south-west winds. This means that Portland Bill can be accessed easily from anywhere on Weymouth Bay by sailing when the tide is turning as an eddy flows along Portland's eastern side.[3]
The bay is home to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy and hosted the sailing events for the 2012 Olympic Games. Since the games, the Academy's venue has continued to improve to ensure a legacy for the Olympic Games.[4]

Weymouth Bay: Bowleaze Cove and Jordon Hill was painted by the leading English landscape artist John Constable in 1816–17. Constable had honeymooned on the south coast in October 1816, inspiring the painting. The painting now hangs in the National Gallery, London.[5]

The Esplanade is immediately next to the sandy Weymouth Beach. To the south at the end of the Esplanade are Weymouth Pier,the Condor Ferries terminal for ferry service to the Channel Islands and the Pavilion Theatre.[1] Also towards the south is King's Statue - a statue of King George III who visited Weymouth and helped to make sea bathing fashionable here.
The Jubilee Clock is a brightly painted and very visible feature on the Esplanade. It was erected in 1887 to mark the Golden jubilee of Queen Victoria. To the north is the suburb of Greenhill.
There are a number of tourist-oriented shops on the Esplanade, together with many guest houses, hotels, and places to eat. These include the long-established Rossi's Ices, which started trading in 1937.[2]

As part of the regeneration of Weymouth and Portland, it was decided in 2007 that the Esplanade will be redeveloped in time for the 2012 Olympic Games.[3]
The scheme could include the restoration and extension the Pier Bandstand at the northern end of the Esplanade. The exterior's Art Deco features and symmetry would be restored, the ground floor converted into a café, restaurant and toilet facilities, and the upper floor extended out to sea with a curved wooden deck.[4] The area in front of the bandstand would be redesigned into a 1930s-style square, as the northern gateway to the Esplanade.[3][5]

On a Walk I met Rob Fishburn, Lamorna Cove,Cornwall
While taking the a walk at Lamorna Cove I heard some really nice music and thought it was live.I checked it out but it was recorded music. However I met Ron Fishburn. I asked if I could do a video of him and his surroundings and put it on youtube. He agreed and showed me around his interesting house and garden. He certainly has character and was quite willing to give me a sort of lecture about his surroundings. We are both about the same age. It was a change from tourist land in St.Ives. Lamorna is a very beautiful place and very,very quaint with a river running into the sea and very dramatic views. One of the most well known artists that lived in Lamorna was Lamorna Birch, maybe a name he chose for himself. Anyway it was an interesting change- informative,unpretentious and just very friendly.
Weymouth insulted by Sherlock Holmes
This clip comes from the video game Sherlock Holmes versus Arsène Lupin, part of which is set inside the National Gallery in London. When Holmes sees Constable's painting Weymouth Bay: Bowleaze Cove and Jordon Hill he says He managed to turn a boring part of England into a place you'd almost want to visit.

The weather in the UK can vary from day to day. Warmer and hotter months are between April to September. Colder months with snow,sleet and rain are between October and March. Time Difference
During the winter months, Britain is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 10 hours behind Sydney. Western standard time is five hours behind.
From late March until late October, the clocks go forward one hour to British Summer Time (BST).

Britain is officially metric, in line with the rest of Europe. However, imperial measures are still in use, especially for road distances, which are measured in miles. Imperial pints and gallons are 20 per cent larger than US measures.

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK

If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.

Weymouth is a seaside town and tourist resort in Dorset, England, halfway along the Jurassic Coast, to the north east of Portland in Weymouth Bay at the mouth of the river Wey. It has long been a draw for holidaymakers with its long sandy beach, bustling town and the picturesque and historic Georgian Weymouth Old Harbour, which has a long seafaring history. The harbour used to have a tramway to transport produce to the main railway station in the 19th century and was used until the late 1980s for passenger trains taking people to the Quay station to catch ferries for Europe. The tracks still exist, running along the old harbour, with special trains occasionally using it.

Margate's central beach offers visitors an award-winning wide, sandy stretch backed by a traditional seaside resort. A boardwalk gives easy access to the beach and is the perfect spot to while away a sunny afternoon while young visitors enjoy splashing at the water's edge and playing in the sand. Older children may enjoy a trip to Dreamland - Margate's iconic theme-park, which re-opened in 2015.
The Old Town Quarter of Margate has undergone a successful regeneration in recent years, now providing a good selection of shabby-chic shops and atmospheric cafes - it is known by some as Shoreditch-on-Sea.
The Turner Contemporary, on the seafront is a short walk from the beach. This prestigious, modern gallery was opened in 2011 on the precise spot where the great artist himself once lived.
This part of the Thanet coastline offers a variety of interesting walks, either towards Botany Bay and Broadstairs, or in the other direction, towards Birchington.
For visitors who enjoy wild swimming but want to avoid dangerous sea currents a trip to Grade II listed Walpole Bay tidal swimming pool in Cliftonville is a must. The water in the pool is deep and the walls are high, so this 80-year old leisure facility is not really suitable for children or non-swimmers.
