Cove Lake State Park is a state park in Campbell County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The park consists of 673 acres (2.72 km2) situated around Cove Lake, an impoundment of Cove Creek created by the completion of Caryville Dam in 1936. The park's location is adjacent to the town of Caryville and just west of Jacksboro.
Cove Lake is an extension of the much larger Norris Reservoir, which extends across the lower 15 miles (24 km) of Cove Creek downstream from Caryville Dam. Cove Lake State Park was one of several state and local parks developed in the 1930s as part of the Norris Dam Project. The park includes a large campground, several small walking trails, and a wildlife observation area. A leg of the Cumberland Trail passes near the park's northern boundary, connecting the park to nearby mountaintops.

Once an outdoor corridor hotel that has been renovated to be indoor corridor. This Hampton Inn is located on a hill that overlooks a lake with beautiful scenery & live llamas in a gate on the backside hill plus it has a lot of interesting artifacts on the outside grounds with some of them used in the movie Roots & had come from the estate of the author of Roots, Alex Haley. There's also local history inside like the jacket that has a bullet hole in it that was worn by John Ayers in a local whiskey raid. We were walking down the hallway and housekeeping had left several doors propped open so we snapped a photo to show you the new closet/bathroom door that some of the Hamptons are using now (the Hampton we stayed at in Kenwood, Ohio had these types of doors so stay tuned for that full hotel tour coming soon)

Come visit Creola and Calvin, sleeping together in eternity, right here in the woods! And while you are here, say hello to Alphanso. He is only five, and will forever be only five! The last graves dug here was 1995. Tho not abandoned, it has more visitors on YouTube than people coming personally to pay respects. A good short hike into the Withlacoochee. Look up Shiloh cemetery, Floral City, Fl...you will find coordinates!

My World - Powell Valley and Cumberland Mountains
This is one of the prettiest spots on the face of the earth. Sometimes I forget to appreciate it, and when I do I usually stop and look at it like I am seeing it for the first time, and it is breathtaking.
Powell Valley in southwest Virginia, in the United States, is located near the city of Norton and the town of Big Stone Gap in Wise County, Virginia. Powell Valley is a picturesque location, with an overlook accessible from the northbound lanes of U.S. Route 23. A number of homes, farms, and a church are located in the valley below the overlook. The valley begins between Powell Mountain and Little Stone Mountain where the waters of the Powell River flow down from the rugged mountains of western Wise County. The immense exposed rock face where Stone Mountain and Powell Mountain come together near Grindstone Ridge to the southeast from the overlook yields a striking visual change in altitude. Within only 0.8 mile the vertical elevation changes by 2,000 feet ( 610 meters ) across the northern face of the Grindstone Ridge Dome of the High Knob Massif, to mark one of the greatest short-distance vertical elevation changes in the southern Appalachians ( the greatest found west of the Blue Ridge in Virginia ). The valley follows the Powell River west towards the Tennessee border. Majestic Powell Valley is part of the High Knob Landform, lying literally amid its heart and eroded core, and is a true geologic wonder. The Virginia long hunter, explorer and later Revolutionary War general Joseph Martin was instrumental in opening up Powell Valley to settlement from the east. The Powell River flows into Norris Lake in the North East of East Tennessee. The valley from Cumberland Gap and Harrogate to Caryville is considered a part of Powell Valley.
You have probably noticed in my videos the clear view of the mountains. Visibility is like this most of the time. In some of my early videos atop McCloud Mountain you have viewed Powell Valley from that point of view.
