EverybodyOnline Northern Ireland - Introduction
Internet connectivity in Northern Ireland is the lowest in the UK. EverybodyOnline aims to help these communities and individuals overcome any barriers they may have to digital technology and the Internet.
What is unique about EverybodyOnline in Northern Ireland however, is that projects are looking to focus on and engage with groups of individuals who have been identified as disadvantaged in terms of social exclusion, age or disability.
Throughout each of the programmes, the focus is to provide access to technology, while improving the literacy skills, learning opportunities or employability. That is, how people can use computers and Internet for pursing leisure interests, hobbies or for maintaining communication with relatives or friends.
Within NI, the Government has identified a number of key socially excluded groups and areas that will benefit from the EverybodyOnline programme between 2006 and 2009.

Sing For Life Community Choir on Tour
The Sing For Life Choir is a vibrant and lively community choir for those who have been affected by cancer.
The initial idea for the choir came from Tenovus, a Welsh cancer charity. They launched a similar project called Sing With Us, to run choirs across Wales for patients, survivors, their families and people bereaved through cancer.
The aim is to travel to Wales to meet and sing with the people that inspired the setting up of this choir.
We need to raise £16,000 through crowd-funding. Your generosity will allow us, a choir of 100 members to perform in Wales with the people who inspired the formation of our choir. Please help by donating and forwarding this campaign link to friends, family and co-workers.
This choir was developed through a partnership between the Crescent Arts Centre and Cancer Focus Northern Ireland in 2012. From week to week numbers do vary because many of them are currently undergoing treatment but it’s nice to be able to come back and sing with people who truly understand what they are going through and the impact it has on those around them.

Wall murals dating from 20 years ago on Ballymurphy Road celebrate several IRA members in particular while a memorial displays all those from the Greater Ballymurphy area who died during the Troubles. One however shows first tentative steps to normalisation and away from politically motivated murals.
