We went fishing at Crescent Beach Matanzas Inlet.
It seems everywhere we have been going there has been a manatee hanging out right off the shore.

Walk from Siesta Key Public Beach to Crescent Beach
1:24 Yellow Life guard stand on Siesta Key Beach
1:49 sunset on the beach and a mother enjoying it watching her family's toys. Look how big the yellow doughnut is. These can be rented for a weekly rate.
2:35 The finish line? It appears there was some kind of racing activity here earlier. Also notice a start flag.
3:02 entering no man's land. the part between siesta key beach and crescent beach.
3:08 Another sunset shot
3:17 Guy fishing on the beach. There are a lot of little fish near the shore. Some people catch them using nets. Sometimes the schools get so large they appear to be dark circles and new visitors get freaked out by it.
3:25 bird life. This may be an egret. A white one and a black one. No tension on this beach. Correct me in the comments.
3:53 Families walk toward the sunset and when the sun is finally down they walk back.
4:37 condos between siesta key and crescent beach
5:33 intricate sand castle, the beach has fine white quartz sand that tends to not stick to your feet and stay cool even in the heat. Hey I rhymed. I must be a poet... The whole family doing the sunset watching thing.
5:45 A tuber or donuter on the beach
5:49 Jogging during sunset on siesta, this lady has the right idea
6:17 seashell hunting, it's easy to find nice smaller sized white shells
7:21 Our shadows grow nice and long and the light gets very beautiful in the midst of sunset. Siesta named the number 3 beach in the U.S by trip-advisor and is on the best beaches list by Dr. beach.
7:38 Lots of families as we approach the crescent beach. It's just like siesta but there is no public access so you would have to live there or rent a villa, condo, or hotel. This was in early August. Not too many people drinking and getting weird.
7:53 Another sunset shot
8:04 A great beach for pictures especially at sunset
8:07 Some people prefer to wear evening clothes and just walk on the beach at sunset but the water is plenty warm to enjoy at sunset.
8:23 A biker
8:36 and another.. the sand is kind of ironic very soft but as you approach the shore, just hard pack enough to ride a bike on.
9:29 a dead fish on the beach. There are some red tide issues. For us it was the occasional smell of rotting fish/sewer. The smell would come and go but it made your clothes stink. The news said the problem would get worse in the near weeks but we left before that. Unfortunately as great as the beach is with its warm shallow green waters I would not visit again because of the smell.
9:39 another view of the sunset
11:20 We finally reach crescent beach where people rent villas and such. You can see it is a bit more crowded but not horribly so.
11:42 resort chairs everywhere so you can find a seat and enjoy the sunset. People are friendly here and willing to talk about their trip and where they came from.
12:11 It's hard to see but there was a lady drinking beer from a glass bottle in the gulf. That's a no-no if she dropped it and then it breaks someone could get cut.
12:18 final sunset shot
12:36 My daughter finding shells on the beach with mama watching over with the sunset in the background. This is truly a great beach. Hope the red tide issue gets resolved though.
Lots of activities at siesta key: tubing, fishing, sunset watching, collecting shells, bicycling, sandcastle-making, swimming, floating, stand up paddle-boarding, kayaking, canoeing, kite flying, reading, boogie boarding, boating, para-sailing, ultra-lights, people watching, tanning, drinking, walking, bird watching, jet skiing,
The beach does not require any tags, the four life guard stands on siesta key beach, have their own color, birds sighted on the beach:egrets, cranes, crows, seagulls, pelicans, The immediate color of the water is green but to the distance it is blue, the water is clearish(you can see your feet but it is not perfectly clear).
Drum/hula circles every Sunday evening on Siesta Key public beach. The video is a bit shaky. Some parts of the sand are hard enough to bike on. Siesta Key Public beach has 4 lifeguard stands of different colors. The beach is safe enough for people to leave their stuff on the beach while they enjoy the water. Check the news for any red tide issues that make the beach smell like rotten fish before you go. If you do go it's probably best to rent lodging withing walking distance of the beach. Short of that use transportation besides your car to get to the beach. SCAT bus line, free ride services and such.
