Salem, Oregon Vineyard
I had the opportunity to eat at a scenic vineyard while visiting my friends in Oregon. While there I watched the vinedressers trim the grapes... I did this short of it, I had until then, never seen that before, it was cool because they were singing , you can't hear it on the video but it was like you see in the old timey movies, but real...

Southern Oregon vineyards seeing strong demand
By Will Maetzold/KTVL.com
JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. -- Demand continues to rise for wines made in southern Oregon.
Agate Ridge Vineyard began planting more than 6,000 new vines on Monday morning. It's a sign the wine industry in southern Oregon continues to grow.
The fruit that comes from southern Oregon is very desirable throughout the state of Oregon, Agate Ridge Vineyard owner Kimberly Kinderman said. Not only are producers using our fruit here to produce artisan wines but a lot of fruit is sold from this valley also.
Agate Ridge Vineyard said the demand its seen at its winery has meant the need to plant more vines.
We're going to be able to increase the production of our Malbec and also introduce a brand new varietal, Kinderman said. We're also expanding our Pinot Noir block.
Kinderman said all parts of her business have been growing since the winery opened in 2005.
The staff said it will be three to four years before the vines planted this week are ready to be harvested.
The viticulturist at Agate Ridge Vineyard, Matt Cates, said the grapes grown on site make a big difference in the quality of the wine.
People tell us all the time they can taste our soil, he said. They can taste our microclimate (and) how it differs from other areas in the valley.
It helps make vineyards like Agate Ridge more and more popular in southern Oregon.
The owner at DANCIN Vineyards also said demand is up for its products. He said 20,000 new vines were planted this year at the vineyard.
