Temple is a city in Bell County, Texas, United States. As of 2016 the city has a population of 72,277 according to a US census estimate. Located near the county seat of Belton, Temple lies in the region referred to as Central Texas and is a principal city in the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area. The metro region has a population of 450,051. Located off Interstate 35, Temple is 65 miles (105 km) north of Austin and 34 miles (55 km) south of Waco.
Temple has developed as a small city with a number of arts and retail amenities not typically associated with a smaller community. The primary economic drivers are the extensive medical community (mostly due to Scott & White Memorial Hospital) and goods distribution based on its central location and proximity to larger cities, such as Austin and Waco. Paul Oster, the founder and the president of Better Qualified talks with News 12 about Anthem Security Breach and what everyone should know about it. It's been more than a year since health insurer Anthem disclosed what was by far the largest data breach in healthcare history, yet almost nothing further is known about the causes, costs and ramifications of the breach. The source of Anthem's breach has not been identified, although some reports have linked it to Chinese hackers. The FBI did not respond to a request for comment. However, it seems Anthem would want to disclose more information publicly, given its merger target, Cigna, previously held reservations about the effects of the data breach.

Embracing a Community
Going up the stairs on the side of Cowhide Western Furniture in the Denton Square, lies the combined minimalistic-styled home and photography studio of 66-year-old Byrd Williams IV.
Williams comes from a family of photographers. When he was just 6 or 7 years when he got a camera for his birthday and has been shooting since.
The Byrd Williams photography legacy started when the great grandfather of Williams moved to Texas in the late 1870s and opened a hardware store in Gainesville, Texas which sold assorted wares, including cameras, which is how his grandfather got into it originally. There is now a 150-year collection of photography created by the William’s family, spanning from land survey pictures from central United States by his great grandfather to portraits in Texas.
The materials affected the approach, Williams said. The body of work covering over 150 or so years of the Byrds follows the history of photography in the materials that the industry used, and that actually changed the look and the approach of the pictures.
Each Byrd was influenced by the style of photography in their time. For example, Williams's grandfather's survey pictures looked much like Timothy O'Sullivan's, and Williams's father, a photojournalist in the 1920s and 1930s, have photos that look like Henri Cartier-Bresson.
[W]e followed the styles of what was going on, Williams said. It was dictated somewhat by the cameras and the uses of photography. When it came to me, I followed the styles of my time, so...the body of [works by the Williams family] represents a mini microscopic history of photography in Texas.
Williams has had 100s of art exhibitions since the late 1960s from small galleries in Fort Worth and San Antonio to Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Harry Ransom Center in the University of Texas at Austin, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art and the Stadt Museum of Trier Germany. Williams and has shot in Germany, where he had a year-long sabbatical and residency twice in 1997 and 2009. He has also shot in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, England, Czech Republic, Prague and Kosovo.
The University of North Texas Libraries has over 10,000 prints and 300,000 negatives, diaries and letters all from the Williams family, half of which was purchased and the other half donated by Williams. The Willis Library has also acquired Williams's original cameras that his family has shot with that Williams has since borrowed for his project – “Dead People Walking.
They paid me a sum of money a couple years ago for the [prints, negatives, diaries, letters and cameras], and I'm using part of that to make the [Dead People Walking] pictures to put back into the project, Williams.
Williams started shooting for Dead People Walking around the first week he moved to Denton on October 15, 2018 with the concept of it being shooting people how they dress casually today so future historians may study the dress and culture of today's society. Most of the pictures will be going to the UNT archive as an ethnography.
[The UNT archive] bought half of [everything], and I donated half of [everything],...and I buy film to shoot the [Dead People Walking] to give back to UNT, Williams said. It's a heartfelt thing to do. I could find funding, and I could look for a grant, but I'm at a point in my life, in my 60s, to where I have to give back to this whole idea of what I'm doing. I really want to give back to the work.
Each participant in this documentary of culture is offered a free 11 x 14 gold chloride compact print for partaking in Dead People Walking when Byrd develops them in a darkroom and is asked to provide their first and last name, email address or phone number, where they were born and where they live now.
Scientists estimate [the gold chloride compact print] last 400 to 800 years, Williams said. [After I give a participant a print], I give the archive one. I only make two, so it's [really] limited edition.
Participants from all likes of life are invited to Byrd's studio to have their picture taken for Dead People Walking, so far, Williams has shot people with occupations from a tattoo artist, radio show host and real-estate agent to a finance advisor, construction worker and a fireman.
Historians 100 years from now will want to follow population movement, Williams said. I had one person from England,...another [from Germany], [and] another from New York, so it'll be interesting for historians...to see how we moved around...in the United States.

USA: HOUSTON: NASA REPORTS AT CONFERENCE ON SPACE SCIENCE
English/Nat
A team of NASA scientists say it's still too early to draw conclusions on whether or not there was life on Mars.
The scientists were reporting to a conference on space science in Houston, Texas.
More than six months after a group of NASA scientists astonished the world by announcing they had found signs of life on a meteorite from Mars, scientific opinion is still divided.
Reporting results on ongoing studies on Wednesday, planetary scientists said it was too early to draw conclusions on the research.
The Lunar and Planetary Institute along with the Johnson Space Center this week is hosting its 28th annual conference on space science -- 28 years after man first landed on the moon.
This year the conference is dominated by news from Mars.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
The August announcement really brought out a lot of activity, and a lot of ideas and a lot of opinions. Today we are in the middle of evaluating all that new data of weighing one hypothesis against another. Of asking really hard questions about the data that other people bring and designing which sets of data we should trust and which of those sets of data we should discount.
SUPER CAPTION: Douglas Blanchard, Chief, Earth Science & Solar System Exploration Division, JSC
The announcement early August last year of the possibility of traces of life in a meteorite found in Antarctica surprised the scientific community and the public in general.
The scientists meeting in Houston are cautioning against making early judgements on the evidence they have studied so far.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
I think no one knows the truth just yet, I think we are all in the process of finding the truth, or searching for it and we hope that looking at a lot of lines of evidence and a lot of different data will lead us to have a sharper image of what really happened.
SUPER CAPTION: Douglas Blanchard, Chief, Earth Science & Solar System Exploration Division, JSC
The NASA team that made the find had speculated that carbonate life forms on Mars had left fossilized remains in a rock, that after being kicked off the planet by a meteorite explosion, had landed on earth.
Planetary Scientist Everett Gibson was part of that original team.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
That we feel stronger now about the conclusions that were in that manuscript, than we did at the time it was published. Several lines of evidence have come forward which strengthen our position.
SUPER CAPTION: Everett Gibson, Planetary Scientist, JSC
Planetary Geologist Kathie Thomas-Kepria presented evidence on Wednesday supporting similarities between magnetite structures produced by bacteria on earth as those found in the meteorite.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
So we feel we have very good supporting evidence for biogenic activity within the carbonate globules in the Allen Hill's meteorite.
SUPER CAPTION: Kathie Thomas-Kepria, Senior Planetary Geologist, Lockheed Martin
Presenting one of the contradictory views, Case Western Reserve University's Ralph Harvey studied the structure of the magnetite found in the carbonate globules in the Mars meteor.
Harvey's team sees the magnetite whiskers and platelets as evidence of high temperature vapor growth not organic growth.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
SUPER CAPTION: Ralph Harvey, Case Western Reserve University
Apart from deciding that there is no one conclusion to be drawn from the present stage of research -- the assembled scientists have agreed that the subject will be studied for many years to come.

Memorial Day Ceremony, May 25th, 2016
Our Memorial Day Ceremony is a time for us to honor the brave men and women who made the supreme sacrifice in order to preserve our freedom, and all who served but are no longer with us. It’s an opportunity to recognize our students, staff and faculty who wore the uniform and those who continue to serve. It's a time for us to come together to support family members from our campus who have lost loved ones in the service of our country, whether they fell on the field of battle or after their active service ended. We will have a video presentation featuring their pictures and stories. We will be hosting service members from all branches of the Military, as well as Veterans from service organizations across our community including Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Please join us in welcoming them to our campus and providing any assistance they may require to locate our ceremony.
Our ceremony, led by Master of Ceremonies, Korean War Veteran and Post Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8870 Jim Blossey will begin in the theater. We will feature outstanding guest speakers including Lynnwood Mayor Nicola Smith, Campus President Dr. Jean Hernandez, and keynote speaker RaeLynn Ricarte. Ms. Ricarte is an award-winning journalist and author of “Living the Oath,” stories told by 29 warriors and their families about service and sacrifice. We will have special musical performances by Linda Kappus' Voice Class, bagpiper Kyle Gaul from the Northwest Junior Pipe Band, Native American Flute Player Peter Ali, and World War II Veteran Colonel Buck Weaver, USAF (Ret.) who will lead us in America The Beautiful. After our ceremony in the theater, we will have a procession led by a colorguard, bagpiper and a golf cart patriotically decorated by Girl Scout Troop 40252 to our Boots to Books Monument where we will lay a wreath created by Linda Toccoli from the Campus Horticulture Department. Following the wreathlaying we will have a reception with light refreshments in the BlackBox Theater and a display of military artifacts ranging from World War 1 to modern times.

Today is the day that opens the festival Fairfax area . Subject to security checks when entering the venue . Pay an entrance fee to buy a ticket. Strange experience for me , but people here are considered of course. Danda accepted by the American people enjoy going to the festival is the venue . The rides , and this is where live performances . Day event had been conducted in two different playing venues. And the food marketplace . This seems similar to us. It would be different if this is common with the three local festivals are held .
