The visiting Barber Surgeon will trim your hair, extract your bad tooth and sometimes has a special offer on urine sampling! The Cook prepares delicious, culinary delights. Hedgehog pie is a house speciality!

Dalkey Schoolroom scene: The Nestor Episode from ‘Ulysses’ will be brought to life before your eyes in a memorable dramatisation featuring Mr Deasy, (Headmaster) and Stephen Dedalus (James Joyce). There are surprising Dalkey connections with Joyce which will be uncovered in the guided Joycean Walk, led by an expert Joycean Guide immediately afterwards. Must be pre-booked. Admission €12.50.

A Joycean Evening: Begin your Joycean celebrations on the eve of Bloomsday in Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre on June 15th at 20.00 hours. A team of actors will perform enlightening extracts from ‘Ulysses’, ‘Dubliners,’ A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man’ and more. Tenor Simon Morgan and Soprano Lisa Lambe will be accompanied by Josh Johnston in songs that James Joyce sang or which feature in his work. Refreshments will be served. Admission €15.
Bloomsday Molly Bloom Soliloquy 2018
Follow Molly Bloom’s lead and say “yes I said yes I will Yes”
Say YES to hear James Joyce’s wonderful creation of Molly Bloom, played by Sharon Nealon. Her portrayal of Molly will be one of the highlights at The Joycean Evening in Dalkey Castle on Friday 15th June at 8.00pm. Baritone Simon Morgan and Mezzo Soprano Lisa Lambe will sing songs associated with Joyce’s work in fun filled evening of Joycean extracts.
