A New Statement: Michael Dunbar at Ball State University (Full)
This feature profiles Springfield, Illinois' Michael Dunbar and his sculptural exhibition, Continuum, at Ball State University and the David Owsley Museum of Art in Muncie, Indiana. Continuum is a 2,600 square-foot display of Dunbar’s “machinist studies,” or smaller-scale models of larger sculptures designed by the artist himself. Through interviews with the artist, museum staff, and others connected to the exhibition, A New Statement looks back at Michael's humble beginnings in Illinois and the Museum's preparation for opening night on September 21st, 2016. The film concludes with highlights from Dunbar's first-person lecture on Ball State’s campus as well as the beautiful sights and sounds of the Continuum showcase.

Fostering Citizenship As Well As Talent: Ball State's College of Fine Arts
Ball State empowers young artists with passion and purpose. As soon as students set foot on campus, they receive hands-on instruction from professors who are excellent teachers, mentors, and artists. Yet there is more to an arts education than honing the craft. In the College of Fine Arts, we encourage young artists to be good citizens. We do so based on Ball State’s enduring values — excellence, innovation, courage, integrity, inclusiveness, social responsibility, and gratitude — which have guided us throughout our proud 100-year history and will lead us in our bright future.
