Joy and I had to drive to Whidbey Island and she graciously let me stop and film. The sky wasn't the best at Deception Pass but the water color came out brilliant (the video color is untouched). Have to love Washington State and all her emerald gems, can't wait to publish more.

Deception Pass is a strait separating Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island, in the northwest part of the U.S. state of Washington. It connects Skagit Bay, part of Puget Sound, with the Strait of Juan de Fuca. A pair of bridges known collectively as Deception Pass Bridge cross Deception Pass, and the bridges are on the National Register of Historic Places.

I wanted to thank all the aircrew, maintainers, volunteer groups, and locals for the support which enabled Whidbey SAR to successfully complete so many rescues. This was by far the best job I've ever had and I have made friendships for a lifetime. I hope you enjoy this farewell video!

It is a picturesque location that stretches for 55 miles making it the fourth longest and largest island in the contiguous United States. It is home to the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. The island also is home to Fort Casey, Ebey's Landing, Admiralty Head Lighthouse and a few legends and stories of hauntings, that include The Lurker. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of Whidbey Island. This Personal Series is called Whidbey Island Life. These pictures were taken in the Oak Harbor and Coupeville areas. Whidbey Island is home to approximately 58,000 residents and is the 4th largest island in the United States. The economy is mainly influenced by tourism, small scale agriculture and the arts. Whidbey is also home to Whidbey Island Naval Airstation and can be reached via ferry or driving through Deception Pass, a landmark of the Puget Sound region.
