The Jamia Sports Complex more commonly known as Bhopal Ground is situated adjacent to the Jamia campus. The ground got its name as it was donated by the Late Begum of Bhopal, mother of late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (former Indian Cricket Captain).

Jamia Millia Islamia is a public central university in Delhi. It was established during British rule in 1920. It became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988.
Sir Sarwar Jung of Delhi designed the University. The institution today holds the torch of illumination giving shape to ideas and fostering innovation to the thousands of students each year in each field.
Due to the commitment and dedication of the Jamia community members associated with the Sports management, in 1977, the University got recognition when Jamia won its first Gold and Silver Medal in Wrestling in the All India Inter University Championship.
The outreach of it's infrastructure has grown regularly and is used not only by students but also by corporate houses, NGO's, Amateur and Professional Sports Associations and Clubs, DDCA and others.
Ranji Trophy matches are a regular event every year at the Jamia Cricket ground. Jamia has also hosted Women's Cricket Test matches, Women World Cup matches and Blinds Cricket World Cup matches in the past.
The ground within its periphery now consists of Centrally Air Conditioned Indoor Games Stadium along with Viewers Gallery meeting all the International standards.

Incentives for Sports Persons:
Number 1:
Admissions under sports quota are provided to outstanding sports persons, in various courses, on the basis of their sports achievements.
These sports persons are also given 5% relaxation in the minimum eligibility criteria for admission in the course. Such sports persons have to appear in the sports trial and if they clear the trial then they are nominated for admission in the course of their choice.
Number 2:
Sports persons also get relaxation in their class room attendance requirement in lieu of the time spent in practice and participation in Inter University, National and International Tournaments.
Number 3:
University provides good diet allowance for practice as well as participation in the tournaments.
Number 4:
University provides cash incentives to position holders in the Inter University tournaments.

75 years of Tradition of excellence in Engineering & Technology Education, Research and Innovations Delhi College of Engineering, (initially established with the name – Delhi Polytechnic) came into existence in the year 1941 to cater the needs of Indian industries for trained technical manpower with practical experience and sound theoretical knowledge. The institution was set up at historic Kashmere Gate campus as a follow up of the Wood and Abott Committee of 1938. It comprised of a multi disciplinary and multi level institution offering wide ranging programmes in engineering, technology, arts and sculpture, architecture, pharmacy and commerce. The national diploma awarded by the institution was recognized as equivalent to degree level for the purposes of employment. In 1952 the college was affiliated with University of Delhi and started formal Degree level Programmes. The department of Architecture later became the School of Planning and Architecture, now a Deemed University and Institution of National importance. The department of Arts and Sculpture became College of Arts and the departments of Chemical Technology and Textile Technology were shifted out en-block to mark beginning of the IIT Delhi at its new campus at Hauz Khas. The department of commerce was later abolished and the faculty of management studies of the University of Delhi was established by Prof. A Das Gupta, of DCE. Delhi College of Engineering is thus the mother institution of a number of national projects including IITD, SPA, College of Arts and even the famous FMS.
Till 1962, the college was under the direct control of Ministry of Education, Government of India. In 1963, the administration of the college was handed over to Delhi Administration. Delhi College of Engineering was under the administrative control of Department of Technical Education & Training, Govt. of NCT of Delhi. For academic purposes, the college was affiliated to University of Delhi since 1952. From July 2009, the DCE has become Delhi Technological University vide Delhi act 6 of 2009.
The erstwhile DCE has functioned from its historic Kashmere Gate Campus for almost 55 years and has shifted in 1996 to its lush green sprawling campus of 164 Acres at Bawana Road, adjoining Sector-17, Rohini, Delhi-42. Its shifting to new campus has added the dimension of research and caused innovations in plenty, which has received high national and international acclaim. As a Delhi Technological University it has the desired autonomy to excel and shape itself as a world class Technological University.

if u get hungry after ur class or travelling around the campus
then u can find canteen and mess and juice corner to chill and enjoy

sports complex is small but good considering the strength of college

and indoor sports are also there
and then there is a well equipped GYM ,
after that the hostels are awsm

The idea of establishing a South Asian University (SAU) was mooted by the Prime Minister of India at the 13th SAARC Summit in Dhaka in 2005. The idea was for member countries to pool their resources for the creation of a Centre of Excellence in the form of a University that would provide world-class facilities and professional faculty to students and researchers drawn from every country of the SAARC region.
Hindu College Memories (Delhi University)
Hindu College is one of the colleges under the affiliation of University of Delhi in Delhi, India. Founded in 1899, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science, humanities and social sciences. The college is also among the oldest colleges in Delhi.
Hindu College is ranked among the top colleges in India for humanities, science and commerce with more than 100 faculty members.[1][2][3] It has been awarded the 'Star College' status for the Department of Biotechnology, by the Ministry of Science and Technology of India.[4] Notwithstanding its name, students from all religions are admitted.
Hindu College was founded in 1899 by Krishan Dassji Gurwale in the backdrop of the nationalist struggle against British Raj. Some prominent citizens, including Gurwale Ji, decided to start a college that would provide nationalist education to the youth, while being non-elitist and non-sectarian. Originally, the college was housed in a humble building in Kinari Bazar, Chandni Chowk, and it was affiliated to Punjab University as there was no university in Delhi at that time. As the college grew, it faced a major crisis in 1902. The Punjab University warned the college that the university would disaffiliate the college if the college failed to get a proper building of its own. Fortunately, Rai Bahadur Lala Sultan Singh came to rescue the college from this crisis. He donated a part of his historic property, which originally belonged to Colonel James Skinner, at Kashmiri Gate, Delhi, to the college. The college functioned from there till 1953.[5] When the University of Delhi took birth in 1922, Hindu College along with Ramjas College and St. Stephen's College were subsequently affiliated to the University of Delhi, making them the first three institutions to be affiliated with the university.[6]
Hindu College was a centre for intellectual and political debate during India’s freedom struggle, especially during the Quit India Movement. This is the only college in Delhi to have a Students' Parliament since 1935, which provided a platform to many national leaders including Mahatma Gandhi, Motilal Nehru, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu, Annie Besant, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Subhash Chandra Bose for motivating the youth. Responding whole-heartedly to Gandhi Ji's Quit India call in 1942, the college played a leading role in India’s freedom struggle as some teachers and students of the college even went to prison[7] and it closed its gates for several months
