Devil's Backbone, Loveland Colorado
Devil's Backbone, Loveland Colorado:
This is a trail area that has about 15 miles of trails, going up and down everywhere, over hot, dusty ground. Rocks everywhere and extremely hot with no shade. I guess that's why it's called the Devil's Backbone

Mountain Bike trails at The Devil's Backbone in Loveland, Colorado. Pretty insane trail, lots of red rock, demanding climbs but very rewarding.
Devil's Backbone - In A Colorado Minute (Week 267)
--- ---
Devil's Backbone is a very impressive long stretch of rock walls and towers near Loveland in Larimer County, Colorado. The 2,198-acre Devil's Backbone Open Space with its 12 miles of trails is free to enter and open from dusk to dawn. Exploring these rock formations and peeking through the photogenic Keyhole had been on my hiking and filming list for quite a while. This week, Scott, Whiskey and I braved the heat and blazing sun and discovered a new favorite place in nature.
The contrast between sweeping green valleys dotted with wildflowers, the rock walls and the snow-covered Rocky Mountains create an incredible vista. Other highlights include the ravens (at least we were told they were ravens) and finally making it to the Keyhole (big opening in a rock wall), which rewarded us with shade and a nice breeze (notice Whiskey sticking her face into the wind).
The song in this video is called “Marathon Man” and was written and performed by Jason Shaw, who made this song available via the CC BY 3.0 license. Thank you, Jason, for all your wonderful! For the record, I sped this song up a tiny bit.

Ranger Danger! Hiking the Devils Backbone Open space
Our first hike of the year with our two lab mixes. I talked to a Ranger about flying drones and couldn't believe the reason why he said I couldn't fly my drone there.

Rim Rock Trail MTB (Fort Collins, Colorado) 1st Descent Stairs
Multi-POV of how to do the first descent (stairs section) dropping off the ledge instead. Got tired of searching YouTube for anyone doing this and nothing good out there. I am sure others can clean this section better, but here it is.
Devil's Backbone, Colorado
This is just the first section of the trail. Im going to re-edit this video, cut it down, and add music to it. I just wanted to post this for shits n giggles.

INTENSE Hike! Spectacular REWARD (if you make it). Royal Arch Trail, Boulder, CO
I moved to Boulder, CO about a year ago. I was recovering from a physical thing. And hiking was my main form of physical therapy. Still is. The mountains are the greatest “health club” in the world—for beginners up to experts.
But I met my match with Royal Arch Trail. Cut me some slack, as I wrongly call it Royal ARCHES in the video at least 5 times. And I can’t seem to get my story straight on how many times I previously tried to reach the summit … (this last attempt was my third).
It must have been the oxygen deprivation :) This hike kicked my ass.

Devils Backbone to Mt Baldy Summit, hiking route and description in 4K, Mount San Antonio
Join me on a hiking loop to Mt Baldy via the narrow Devils Backbone in 4K, return via the Ski Hut trail. The loop is about 10 miles long and has an elevation gain of 4000ft. The hike starts at Manker Flat and goes up to Baldy Notch, before continuing on to Devils Backbone. From there I go to the summit and then down the Ski hut trail, which is steeper but shorter, and then looping back to Manker Flat.
