Walking Under the Falls! Cave of the Winds - Niagara Falls State Park, New York
Niagara Falls State Park is located in Niagara Falls, NY and is the best spot on US soil to see the falls. Niagara Falls is made up of three waterfalls, all from the Niagara River. The American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls are located on the American side. Horseshoe Falls is on the Canadian side. All three are spectacular! We purchased the Discovery Pass at the state park. This included five attractions - the Cave of the Winds, the aquarium, the movie, a trolley pass, Maid of the Mist boat ride and the Discovery Center museum. Come along with us as we experience the power of the falls and walk underneath Bridal Veil Falls at the Cave of the Winds!

Devil's Hole Rapids on the Niagara River
The Devil's Hole Rapids are located north of Niagara Falls on the Niagara River at Niagara Glen. The rapids are rated at class 5 and are an awesome sight.
The Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours leave from both Canada and the United States and can be seen tackling the rapids in this video. This video is in no way sponsored by that tour company. The video is taken from the Canadian side of the Niagara River, looking across at the United States of America (New York state).

NIAGARA FALLS #1 -NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK-TRAVEL MAN DAN
#TravelManDan #Niagarafalls #wonderoftheworld #usa #justakidfromkenmore
In this episode of Travel Man Dan I have traveled one of the natural wonders of the world, Niagara Falls!
This is a two part series and in this episode I show and explore the American side of the falls, which is located in Niagara Falls, New York.
This episode was so much fun to film! Niagara Falls has always been close to me, it has always been one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Because I grew up about 15 miles away from the falls in Kenmore, I have visited there many many times, and every time I visit I am in awe at the beauty and power of this amazing waterfall.
In this episode you'll see how to start your adventure on the American side just at the entrance of the Niagara Falls state park. You'll see me slowly walk up on to the sound of the roaring rapids charging down from the last part of the Niagara river and see the epic water falling off the ridge and crashing down into the rocks below!!!!
Also in this video you will see the surrounding area of Niagara Falls, and how beautiful it looks with a winter snow on the ground and ice dangling from the railings. Winter although it can be very cold out here is also my favorite time to visit the falls because of how scenic it is. In this video you will see the Canadian side of the falls and the city skyline that is just across the bridge.
Oh yeah and another cool part of this video is you will see me navigate you through the park, along the falls and across the Rainbow bridge into Canada! Yes that is right you can walk across the bridge into Canada and see the Horseshoe falls-Although that episode will come out next week on April 10th!
So I hope you enjoy this part 1 video of Niagara Falls-The American Side! Go ahead and drop me a comment and let me know what you think!

Experiencing: Niagara Falls - Cave of the Winds - Bridal Veil Falls - Hurricane Deck
A thrilling walk on Niagara Falls’ wild side, the spectacular Cave of the Winds Tour takes visitors into a stormy mist zone, where “soaking up the experience” takes on new meaning!
The journey begins with an elevator ride 175 feet down into the Niagara Gorge. Geared-up in a souvenir rain poncho and specially designed sandals, guests follow wooden walkways along Niagara River to the Hurricane Deck, just a few breathtaking feet from the torrents of Niagara Falls. Here, rushing Bridal Veil Falls creates tropical storm-like conditions. Talk about a rush! Nowhere else on Earth gets you closer to the Falls!
Each spring, special-edition Cave of the Winds Tours are offered so visitors can experience a seasonal version of the attraction and see the decks being built for the upcoming season. Skilled workers rebuild the wooden boardwalks that will allow summer visitors to reach the Hurricane Deck – the walkways and decks are removed every November and reassembled each spring to protect them from the extreme winter weather conditions that prevail in the Niagara Gorge.

Great Gorge Railway Trail at Niagara Falls State Park
Take a walk with me and Scrappy as we explore the Great Gorge Railway Trail at Niagara Falls State Park.
Niagara Falls State Park, NY.
On our second visit early in the morning but the view was another obviously, here´s from Goat Island and the front of us the Horseshoe Falls.
Great Gorge Railway Trail; Niagara River, Niagara Falls ,NY
Nov 2014; The Great Gorge Railway Trail is a nice trail to hike. It slopes slowly down to the bottom of the gorge and you end up under the Whirlpool bridge.
It's been about 30 years since I walked this trail, and I see they widened the path so a vehicle could drive to the bottom. We used to ride our bikes to the bottom and I recall the path much narrower.
At the bottom we could not get past a fence under the bridge. It seems they are improving the path so that will make this a real nice hiking trail.
The whole hike took less than a couple hours. There is a set of stairs near the bridge end that takes you down from Whirlpool street above. Did not try the stairs....maybe next time.

Niagara River Fishing
The Lower Niagara River is one of the most dynamic multi-species fisheries in the Great Lakes. Straddling the US/Canada border between Niagara Falls and Lake Ontario, the Niagara is home to world-class steelhead, lake trout, silver bass, smallmouth and brown trout fishing, and the home water of Frank Campbell of Niagara Region Charter Service. In search of spring steelhead and lake trout fishing we hopped aboard with Campbell and armed with live Chartreuse & Blue Fire Dye minnows caught dozens of fish while filming this episode of Pautzke Outdoors.
