About Baitul Mukarram Mosque:
Baitul Mukarram, also spelled as Baytul Mukarrom (Arabic: بيت المكرّم;) is the national mosque of Bangladesh. Located at the center of Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, the mosque was completed in 1968. The mosque has a capacity of 30,000, giving it the respectable position of being the 10th biggest mosque in the world. However the mosque is constantly getting overcrowded. This especially occurs during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, which has resulted in the Bangladeshi government having to add extensions to the mosque, thus increasing the capacity to at least 40,000.

Not a person or organization, a country will fall within a short period of 47 years. All preparations of the celebration are completed. People are gorging around people around Victory of all eyes and colors. Wait for the common people, when the world will enter the first day of December 16! At 12 o'clock in the clockwise, the area of fireworks became visible in the light and sound of the whole area. It is a new born or awakening.
The students of Dhaka University have started celebrating the day through the organizing of fireworks on the first day of the Great Victory Day. Many people came from different parts of the capital to join the celebration at the university premises.
Like every year, at the University Teachers' Center (TSC) at around 12:00 pm, students of the university's student body, Slogan-71, added a unique dimension to the victory of the Victory Day by highlighting fireworks on Raju sculpture. At 11:45 pm, the students of the TSC premises were sworn in.
All the social and cultural organizations organized by TSC-based Bijoy Jubilant 'Blood Ranga Vijay Me-018' On Sunday, the three-day long festival will be concluded on Sunday by paying tributes to martyred intellectuals and memorials on the memorial of the university. As part of this festival, fireworks are sculpted in front of the first round of victory.
Jagannath University student Romana Afroz came to TSC to join the celebration of Banasree. Romana said that he had come here earlier this year at the TSC meeting in the first day of the Victory Day. TSCs are separate and distinct from any other place. This event adds a different dimension to the joy of victory.
The exhibition titled 'Birth of a map' will be held at the TSC Corridor on Victory Day on Sunday, organized by the Dhaka University Journalists Association. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad will inaugurate the exhibition at 9.30 am. Akhtaruzzaman.
On the occasion of the Victory Day, Dhaka University administration also took various programs. Among them, the National flag hoisting on the main building, including the Vice Chancellor's building, at 6:15 pm, gathered at Savar National Memorial for the gathering of university teachers and students and staff at 6 pm and at 6:35 pm morning for unveiling wreaths at the foot of the unbeatable Bengal. Apart from this, TSC has voluntary donation programs.
Music festival will be held in the joint initiative of Dhaka University and Chayant. This program will be held at 4:00 pm at the central playground of Dhaka University. The cultural program of the Victory Day will be held at TSC auditorium at 6:30 pm. In the residential halls of the university, exhibition, film exhibition and documentary exhibition of martyred intellectuals and great freedom fighters were arranged. Besides, apart from the Zohar University Central Mosque, mosques and worship will pray for the blessings of the souls of the martyrs and pray for the prosperity and progress of the country. Explore Beautiful Bangladesh: The Sparkling Mosque of Old Dhaka
Situated in one of the alleys of Armanitola, the Star Mosque (Tara Masjid in Bengali) is one of the most beautiful Mughal era mosques in Bangladesh.
The mosque was built by a Mughal landlord named Mirza Gulam Pir around 1711. At that time it was a tiny 3 domed mosque made with marble imported from Rajmahal of India.
In 1926 a wealthy merchant named Ali Jaan Bepari who was a resident of Armanitola took the initiative to renovate and redecorate the entire mosque. An enthusiastic Ali imported exquisite, precious china clay tiles from Japan and England. Then with skilled local artisans he decorated the entire mosque walls even the domes with beautiful floral and star shaped patterns made of those precious china clay tiles.
In the white marble background, the glistening engraved stars and floral patterns create a magical and serene environment of light and shade in the mosque as they reflect sunlight in different angles. There are also verses from the holy Quran engraved in the interior walls. A courtyard and the star shaped fountain were built at that time in the eastern side of the mosque.
The Tara Mosque is one of the few architectural structures in Bangladesh in fact even in our sub-continent which has such an elaborate china clay mosaic works traditionally called Chini Tikri. Unfortunately this art and its specialist artisans are now extinct from our country. The mosque is still open for prayers and one can visit this beautiful ancient mosque anytime and any day.

Muslims in Bangladesh condemn New Zealand mosque shootings
Hundreds of angry protesters in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital, chanted allahu akbar (God is Greatest) after Friday prayers. We will not let the blood of Muslims go in vain, said one protester.
Political and religious leaders around the world expressed disgust and sorrow at the deadly shooting at two mosques in New Zealand on Friday, with some blaming politicians and the media for having stoked hatred of Muslims that led to the attack.
As governments in Asia and the Middle East scrambled to find out how many of their citizens had been caught up in the Christchurch bloodshed, there was anger that the attackers targeted worshipers at Friday prayers.

With the establishment of University of Dhaka in 1921, it stopped admission to degree courses and was renamed Jagannath Intermediate College. This status was changed after 28 years in 1949, when it reopened degree classes. The college was taken over by the government in 1968.
It was transformed into Jagannath University in 2005 by passing a bill named Jagannath University Act-2005 in the national parliament.

The area of Dhaka has been inhabited since the first millennium. The city rose to prominence in the 17th century as a provincial capital and commercial center of the Mughal Empire in South Asia. Dhaka was the capital of Mughal Bengal for 75 years. As the center of the muslin trade in Bengal, it was one of the most prosperous cities in the Indian subcontinent. The medieval city was named in honor of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir and hosted the seat of the Mughal Subahdar (governor), Naib Nazims and Dewans (prime ministers). Medieval Dhaka's glory peaked in the 17th and 18th centuries when it was home to merchants from across Eurasia. The Mughals decorated the city with well-laid out gardens, tombs, mosques, palaces, and forts. The city was once called the Venice of the East.[16] Under the British Empire, the city saw the introduction of electricity, railways, cinemas, Western-style universities and colleges and modern water supply. It became an important administrative and educational center in Eastern Bengal and Assam after 1905.[17] In 1947, after ending of British rule, it became the administrative capital of East Pakistan. It was declared as the legislative capital of Pakistan in 1962. In 1971, it became the capital of an independent Bangladesh. Article 5 of the Constitution of Bangladesh declares Dhaka as the capital of the republic.
