I started my small trip from my village Nawakot, Jakhidhar Block, Tehri Garhwal district it is around 80km and it takes me about 4hour to reach.
I stop a lot during my trip because of the rain and sometimes to see the Green Mountains and Rivers.

2013 Uttarakhand floods
The original temple of the goddess was demolished on June 16, 2013, to give way to the construction of the 330 MW Alaknanda Hydro Electric Dam built by Alaknanda Hydro Power Company Ltd (AHPCL), a subsidiary of infrastructure major,K.
Incidentally, Hours after the idol was moved, the region faced what would become one of the country’s worst natural disasters since the 2004 tsunami. The 2013 North India floods were caused by a multi-day cloudburst resulting in devastating floods and landslides washing away the entire shrine town and killing hundreds of people. Locals and devotees believe, Uttarakhand had to face the Goddess’ ire as she was shifted from her ‘mool sthan’ (original abode) to make way for a 330 MW hydel project that was left in ruins after the flood. A similar attempt in 1882 by a local king had resulted in a landslide that had flattened Kedarnath.
The new temple is now being constructed at its original location. To facilitate smooth operation of a 330 MW hydropower project being built in the area, the height of the temple was raised so that it stood above the gushing Alaknanda river. On the morning of June 16, 2013, the Dhari Devi shrine was removed and shifted to the concrete platform at a height of about 611 metres from the Alaknanda river so that it didn't submerge in the river. On the same evening, the devastating flashfloods hit Kedarnath.

Dhari Devi Temple: Since time immemorial, locals here have claimed that angering Dhari Devi, a form of Goddess Kali, will result in destruction. On the evening of 16 June 2013, the idol of the goddess was uprooted from its ancient temple, located near Srinagar (Garhwal), for a hydel-power project. Hours after the idol was moved a cloudburst hit the Kedarnath valley, washing away the entire shrine town and killing hundreds of people. Call it superstition or co-incidence, faith of the locals has seemingly been avenged.

Dhari Devi is a much-worshiped goddess of the region. Local people believe that the stone carved deity changes faces - from a girl to a woman to an old lady - as the day progresses. A mythological account says that once a severe flood washed away a temple and Dhari Devi's idol was trapped against a rock near the village Dharo. Villagers heard the wail of the idol and a divine voice directed them to install the idol there. This is the apparent reason behind the stricture not to remove the idol from its designated spot. The shrine is located 10 kms from Srinagar in district Pauri (Uttarakhand).

धारी देवी मंदिर देवी काली माता को समर्पित एक हिंदू मंदिर है ,
धारी देवी को उत्तराखंड की संरक्षक व पालक देवी के रूप में माना जाता है ।
धारी देवी का पवित्र मंदिर बद्रीनाथ रोड पर श्रीनगर और रुद्रप्रयाग के बीच अलकनंदा नदी के बीच मे स्थित है ।
धारी देवी की मूर्ति का ऊपरी आधा भाग अलकनंदा नदी में बहकर यहां आया था तब से मूर्ति यही पर है , यहां मूर्ति की पूजा देवी “धारी” के रूप में की जाती है ।
मूर्ति की निचला आधा हिस्सा कालीमठ में स्थित है, जहां माता काली के रूप में आराधना की जाती है |
माँ धारी देवी जनकल्याणकारी होने के साथ ही दक्षिणी काली माँ भी कहलाती है |
माना जाता है कि धारी देवी दिन के दौरान अपना रूप बदलती है ,सुबह लड़की, दिन में औरत, और फिर शाम को बूढ़ी औरत में अपना रूप बदलती है ।
पुजारियों के अनुसार मंदिर में माँ काली की प्रतिमा द्वापर युग से ही स्थापित है । कालीमठ एवं कालीस्य मठों में माँ काली की प्रतिमा क्रोध मुद्रा में है , परन्तु धारी देवी मंदिर में माँ काली की प्रतिमा शांत मुद्रा में स्थित है ।
मंदिर में स्थित प्रतिमाएँ साक्षात व जाग्रत के साथ ही पौराणिककाल से ही विधमान है । धारी देवी मंदिर में भक्त बड़ी संख्या में पूरे वर्ष मां के दर्शन के लिए आते रहते हैं । धारी देवी मंदिर में मनाए जाने वाले कई त्योहार है , उनमें से दुर्गा पूजा व नवरात्री में विशेष पूजा मंदिर में आयोजित की जाती है , यह त्यौहार धारी देवी मंदिर के महत्वपूर्ण त्योहार हैं । मंदिर में प्रतिवर्ष चैत्र व शारदीय नवरात्री में हजारों श्रद्धालु अपनी मनौतियों के लिए दूर-दूर से पहुँचते हैं । मंदिर में सबसे ज्यादा नवविवाहित जोड़े अपनी मनोकामना हेतु माँ का आशीर्वाद लेने पहुँचते है ।
मंदिर में स्थित पुजारियों के अनुसार यह कथा है कि एक रात जब भारी बारिश के चलते नदी में जल बहाव तेज था । धारी गाँव के समीप एक स्त्री की बहुत तेज ध्वनि सुनाई दी , जिससे गाँव के लोग डर गए , कि किसी स्त्री के साथ कोई अनहोनी ना हो गयी हो । जब गाँव के लोगों ने उस स्थान के समीप जाकर देखा तो वहाँ गाँव के लोगों को पानी में तैरती हुई एक मूर्ति दिखाई दी । किसी तरह ग्रामीणों ने पानी से वो मूर्ति निकाली और मूर्ति निकालने के बाद कुछ ही पल में देवी आवाज ने उन्हें मूर्ति उसी स्थान पर स्थापित करने के आदेश दिये , तब से धारी गाँव के लोगों ने इस स्थल को धारी देवी का नाम दिया।

भक्तो एवम् श्रद्धालु के अनुसार उत्तराखंड को देवी के क्रोध का सामना करना पड़ा क्यूंकि देवी को 330 मेगावाट की जल विद्युत परियोजना के लिए रास्ता बनाने के लिए उनके मूल स्थान से स्थानांतरित किया गया था,
जब धारी देवी की मूर्ति को उसके स्थान से हटाया गया था तो उसके कुछ ही घंटो बाद ही उत्तराखंड को केदारनाथ जैसी भयंकर आपदा का सामना करना पड़ा था ।

उत्तराखंड में श्रीनगर से करीब 14 किमी दूरी पर प्राचीन सिद्धपीठ धारी देवी मंदिर स्थित है। यहां प्राचीन मंदिर बांध की झील में डूब गया है, लेकिन इसके बाद भी भक्तों की आस्था नहीं डिगी। यहां से मां काली स्वरूप धारी देवी की प्रतिमा को उसी स्थान पर अपलिफ्ट कर अस्थायी मंदिर में स्थापित किया गया है। बांध की झील के ठीक बीचों-बीच अब नए मंदिर का निर्माण चल रहा है।
ऋषिकेश-बदरीनाथ राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर श्रीनगर से कुछ दूरी पर कलियासौड़ के समीप मां धारी देवी का मंदिर स्थित है। ऋषिकेश से मंदिर करीब 115 किमी की दूरी पर है। धारी देवी को मां काली के रूप में पूजा जाता है। मान्यता अनुसार मां धारी उत्तराखंड के चारधाम की रक्षा करती है। इस देवी को पहाड़ों और तीर्थयात्रियों की रक्षक देवी माना जाता है। मंदिर में मूर्ति जागृत और साक्षात है। यह सिद्धपीठ श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था और भक्ति का प्रमुख केंद्र है। धारी गांव के पांडेय ब्राह्मण मंदिर के पुजारी हैं। जनश्रुति है कि यहां मां काली प्रतिदिन तीन रूप प्रात: काल कन्या, दोपहर युवती और शाम को वृद्धा का रूप धारण करती हैं।
प्राचीन देवी की मूर्ति के इर्द-गिर्द चट्टान पर एक छोटा मंदिर स्थित था। मां धारी देवी का मंदिर अलकनंदा नदी पर बनी 330 मेगावाट श्रीनगर जल विद्युत परियोजना की झील से डूब क्षेत्र में आ गया। यहां से मां काली का रूप माने जाने वाली धारा देवी की प्रतिमा को 16 जून 2013 की शाम को हटाया गया। उस दौरान कुछ लोगों का कहना था कि प्रतिमा हटाने के कुछ घंटे के बाद ही उत्तराखंड में आपदा आई थी। हालांकि कुछ लोग इस बात को अंध विश्वास मानते हैं। मौजूदा समय में बांध से मंदिर का मूल स्थान डूब गया है। मूल स्थान से अपलिफ्ट कर अस्थायी मंदिर में मां धारी देवी की मूर्ति स्थापित की गई है। इसी स्थान पर अब स्थायी मंदिर का निर्माण चल रहा है।

Kalimath is one of 108 shakti sthals in India. As per religious tradition Kalimath is the place where Godess Kali killed the demon Raktabija and after that the godess had gone under the earth.
A large number of devotees visit the temple throughout the year. Out of the many festivals celebrated in Dhari Devi Temple, the important festivals are Durga Puja and Navratra, when a special Puja is organized in the temple. The temple is decorated with beautiful flowers and light.

They are opposed to the plan to relocate the Dhari Devi temple from its original site on a small island in the middle of the River Alaknanda.
In June 2013, a multi-day cloudburst centered on the North Indian state of Uttarakhand caused devastating floods and landslides in the country's worst natural disaster since the 2004 tsunami. Though parts of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in India, some regions of Western Nepal, and some parts of Western Tibet also experienced heavy rainfall, over 95% of the casualties occurred in Uttarakhand. As of 16 July 2013, according to figures provided by the Uttarakhand government, more than 5,700 people were presumed dead. This total included 934 local residents.
Destruction of bridges and roads left about 100,000 pilgrims and tourists trapped in the valleys leading to three of the four Hindu Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites . The Indian Air Force, the Army and paramilitary troops evacuated more than 110,000 people from the flood ravaged area.
Landslides, due to the floods, damaged several houses and structures, killing those who were trapped. The heavy rains resulted in large flashfloods and massive landslides. Entire villages and settlements such as Gaurikund and the market town of Ram Bada, a transition point to Kedarnath, have been obliterated, while the market town of Sonprayag suffered heavy damage and loss of lives. Pilgrimage centres in the region, including Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, the hallowed Hindu Chardham (four sites) pilgrimage centers, are visited by thousands of devotees, especially after the month of May onwards. Over 70,000 people were stuck in various regions because of damaged or blocked roads. People in other important locations like the Valley of flowers, Roopkund and the Sikh pilgrimage centre Hemkund were stranded for more than three days. National Highway 58, an important artery connecting the region was also washed away near Jyotirmath and in many other places. Because summers have more number of tourists, the number of people impacted is substantial. For more than three days, stranded pilgrims and tourists were without rations or survived on little food. The roads were seriously damaged at more than 450 places, resulting in huge traffic jams, and the floods caused many cars and other vehicles to be washed away. On June 18, more than 12,000 pilgrims were stranded at Badrinath, the popular pilgrimage center located on the banks of the Alaknanda River. Rescuers at the Hindu pilgrimage town of Haridwar on the river Ganga recovered bodies of 40 victims washed down by the flooded rivers as of June 21 2013. Bodies of people washed away in Uttarakhand were found in distant places like Bijnor, Allahabad and Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.
