The Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Fountain - Hyde Park, London, U.K.
Very soothing and relaxing to hear the waters run; kids especially love this fountain because they can stick their feet in the water. It is just what the designer had in mind, to express the playful side of the late Princess Diana of Wales.
Located in Hyde Park in London, U.K., designed by Kathryn Gustafson, an American landscape artist. It was dedicated by Queen Elizabeth in 6 July 2004.

STORY: UK: Diana Playground
LENGTH: 03:36
A children's playground built as a memorial to Britain's PRINCESS DIANA will open in central London on Friday following more than two years of controversy over the best way to pay tribute to her.
Planners decided on a playground after the upmarket local residents of Kensington fiercely opposed creating a garden, which they said would attract too many visitors to the area and turn into a tacky shrine for the Princess.
Project leaders felt that Princess Diana's love of children made their alternative choice particularly appropriate.
But the celebration has already been marred by claims that the Royal Family has snubbed the memorial to the much loved Princess. PRINCE CHARLES, her former husband, and their sons, WILLIAM AND HARRY, turning down an invitation to dedicate the playground and seven-mile walkway.
The Princess Diana Memorial playground cost more than two million U-S dollars to create and its central feature is a large wooden pirate ship. Finishing touches are hurriedly being made to the area before an opening ceremony on Friday (June 30).
It will be officially opened by Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer, GORDON BROWN, who is head of the Memorial Committee which is responsible for deciding the most appropriate way to remember Diana.
Also at the opening, in the centre of London will be the Princess's close friend ROSA MONCKTON, whose five-year-old daughter Domenica, Diana's god-daughter, will cut a ribbon, opening the playground to the public.
Also opening on Friday will be a seven mile walkway with 89 plaques along it that highlight areas and buildings in the four royal parks that Princess Diana was associated with.
They include Kensington Palace, where Diana lived after her divorce from Prince Charles.

QUEEN OPENS DIANA MEMORIAL
Queen Elizabeth II, who dedicated a fountain in honour of Princess Diana on Tuesday, acknowledged that there had been difficult times with her late daughter-in-law but memories mellow with the passing of the years.
The queen, her husband Prince Philip and Diana's former husband, Prince Charles, joined with Diana's family to formally open the 3.6 million pound (US$6.5 million) oval granite water feature in Hyde Park.
It was the Spencer family's first public appearance with the royal family since Diana's funeral in 1997, when Earl Spencer criticised the royals for their treatment of his sister.
The queen acknowledged that Diana's death gripped the world's attention.
On a personal note, the queen remarked that Diana made such an impact on our lives.
Of course there were difficult times, but memories mellow with the passing of the years.I remember especially the happiness she gave to my two grandsons, the queen said, referring to Princes William and Harry, who also attended the ceremony.
Construction of the fountain, designed by American architect Karen Gustafson and built of 545 blocks of Cornish granite, was delayed by bureaucratic wrangling and arguments within the Memorial Fountain Committee headed by Diana's friend Rosa Monckton.
The fountain is an oval, roughly 80 meters (260 feet) meters by 50 meters (165 feet). Water flows from the highest point down both sides; at some places the flow is agitated, at others calm.
The Royal Parks and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport provided extra funds when the installation ran 600,000 pounds (US$1.1 million) over budget.

STORYLINE
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Tuesday dedicated a water feature in honour of Diana, Princess of Wales.
At the ceremony in London's Hyde Park, the monarch acknowledged that there had been difficult times with her late daughter-in-law, but she went on to say that memories mellow with the passing of the years.
The official opening of the three point six (M) million pound (six and a half (M) million US dollars) granite water feature was attended by the queen, her husband, Prince Philip, Diana's former husband, Prince Charles, and Diana's sons, Harry and William.
Also present were members of the princess' family - their first public appearance with the royals since Diana's funeral in 1997, when Earl Spencer criticised the Windsor for their treatment of his sister.
When asked on Tuesday about a rift between the families, Earl Spencer simply said that the unveiling of his sister's memorial was a great event and that he and his sisters enjoyed coming along.
In her speech, the queen acknowledged that Diana's death had gripped the world's attention.
On a personal note, she remarked that Diana made such an impact on our lives.
I remember especially the happiness she gave to my two grandsons, the queen said, referring to the princes.
