The Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau, 72 Museum Dr., Dickinson, ND, is located next to the Museum Complex that includes the Dakota Dinosaur Museum, Joachim Regional Museum, Prairie Machinery Building and the Prairie Outpost Park.
Visit the Dakota Dinosaur Museum with its fourteen full scale dinosaurs, complete earth science exhibit, spectacular rock and mineral collection, and numerous fossils. A rare complete Triceratops skull is on display in the 13,400 sq. ft. museum, attracting thousands of visitors annually.
Connected to the Dakota Dinosaur Museum is the Joachim Regional Museum. Local history is rotated annually to feature a different glimpse into southwestern North Dakotas past.
During the summer, the Prairie Machinery Building is open, offering numerous exhibits of life on the prairie using tools and equipment. A next door tour to Prairie Outpost Village will take you back to the early settlements in southwestern North Dakota by opening the doors of local businesses, a country school, church, Scandinavian Stubbur, depot, post office and pioneer home.
Local heritage is also showcased at the Ukrainian Cultural Institute in Dickinson with displays of beautiful hand painted Pysanky eggs and the annual Ukrainian Festival in July, drawing thousands of visitors.
The Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau offers information for all of southwestern North Dakota. Open year round and located next to Interstate I-94, its your first stop on your way to your Dakota West Adventure.
