The Czech Republic Beyond Prague
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | Few travelers venture beyond Prague to experience the Czech Republic's many cultural riches and offbeat delights. We'll get started with a whirlwind of Art Nouveau, local pub music, stinky-cheese tasting, river rafting, and peat bathing in places like Olomouc, Moravský Krumlov, Třeboň, and Konopiště. We'll also tour a remarkable memorial to the Holocaust in Terezín, and the charming castle town of Český Krumlov.

Road Trip Czech Republic - 5 Extraordinary Places Beyond Prague
If you want to do a road trip of the Czech Republic, here are 5 incredible places beyond Prague not to miss!
I absolutely love Prague, but the truth is, it has become overrun with visitors and tourist traps. While I'm not suggesting to skip Prague altogether, I would recommend spending fewer days there and checking out some other parts of the country. Czechia is not very large, as a matter of fact, all of these road trip Czech Republic suggestions are just around 2 hours from the capital city. For more information on getting beyond Prague, visit:

Czech documentary about the history and origin of Prague
Despite the city's turbulent history, Prague's progress in recent years has been more stately than revolutionary. The booming tourism sector and a solid industrial base have left its citizens in better economic shape than the rest of the country. Unemployment is minimal, the shops are full, and façades that were crumbling a decade ago have been given face-lifts. Big new shopping malls and multiplex cinemas are popping up all over the place, there's a huge new sporting and events arena, the metro system is being extended and a new floodprotection system has been installed.
There are downsides, of course. Rumours of corruption in City Hall are rife, affordable housing remains in short supply, the health system is under strain, and traffic congestion and crime rates are up. Despite this, the mood of the city remains buoyant.
Václav Havel's 13 years as president came to an end in February 2003, when his place was taken by hard-nosed, right-wing economist Václav Klaus. More change was to come: the decision on whether the Czech Republic should join the European Union was settled by a referendum - with 77% voting in favour - and on 1 May 2004 the Czech Republic became a member of the EU.

Salary and Cost of Living in Prague and Brno 2019
At the end of 2018, we interviewed expats with jobs in Prague and Brno. Coming from different backgrounds, they share their experiences and opinions - we interviewed them on how their salary is like, and how they feel about their current job.
They also compared their living standards to their wages, and the average wages in the Czech Republic. Only about 1/3 of the population earn more than the average wage amount. This indicator does not perfectly reflect the population’s living standards.
Relocation experts also gave their advice for people who are thinking to move to the Czech Republic, and how to do it smoothly with as little trouble as possible.
We also get an overview of what the Czech labor market looks like, as well as the Czech real estate situation - with helpful advice from experts.

Prague, At The Heart Of Europe - Documentary
Prague is a magic city. At the geographic centre of Europe, this capital of a now new country boasts an incredible wealth of culture. Nestling amidst the meanders of the Vlatva river, the old city is a stone’s throw from the ultra-modern district of Karlin. The Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque, Art Nouveau and the communist regime have in turn left their mark on the city’s physiognomy. Mozart, Kafka, Mucha and many others have also left traces of their talent. Alternating cultural heritage with more contemporary themes, Pierre Brouwers shows us that Prague is anything but a museum city.

Prague Travel Guide - Fairytale Capital of the Czech Republic | 90+ Countries With 3 Kids
'It's easy to fall in love among the winding cobblestone streets and snow-covered castles of Prague” - Dana Newman
The capital of the Czech republic is most definitely a hidden gem in Central Europe which is unfairly shadowed by more famous cities on the oldest continent. Prague might not be as big as London or Paris, but its old charm and its interesting history speak loudly about how this city has been able to jump to modern times with elegance and wit.
Prague, or the Golden City, as many call it, has seen a great number of kings and queens, and it has transformed from a monarchy to an empire going from independence to occupation, totalitarianism and liberation. The prominent landmarks are the shining castle on the top of the hill and its river Vltava that inspired one of its most beloved composers to write a masterpiece.
Another name used for Prague is City of a Hundred Spires, and this city is filled with many bridges, domes, palaces, and spires that convince tourists around the world to come and see this beautiful mix of Gothic, Renaissance, baroque, and art nouveau buildings. However in more recent years a great deal of construction in has transformed it into a more modern city, with state-of-the art public buildings, an underground railway, and a newly designed highway system.
