Djerbahood : Le Street Art à Djerba - True Tunisia / season 1 (épisode 3)
Djerba Hood ou le street art a élu domicile dans l’île de Djerba (Erriadh) en Tunisie depuis 2014. Ce projet est un véritable musée du street art à ciel ouvert où se sont succédé 150 artistes en provenance du monde entier pour faire de ce lieu un panorama du Street art mondial et une attraction culturelle qui favorise la croissance du tourisme en Tunisie.

Djerbahood est une manifestation d'art urbaindurant laquelle des artistes du monde entier investissent le village tunisien d’Erriadh sur l'île de Djerba pour réaliser 250 œuvres créées pour l'occasion. Elle est lancée par la Galerie Itinerrance de Paris en juin 2014.

Le nom de l'événement, Djerbahood, s'impose spontanément aux organisateurs à la suite de l'installation des lettres The Hood (terme anglais très familier, parfois utilisé pour désigner un quartier) par Rodolphe Cintorino à l'entrée du village tunisien d’Erriadh sur l'île deDjerba, autrefois appelé Hara Sghira, soit « petit quartier » en arabe[1].
Les 250 œuvres réalisées par les artistes participant au projet mobilisent plus de 4 500bombes de peinture et regroupent à la fois des œuvres individuelles et des collaborations[2].
À ciel ouvert, Djerbahood est une expérimentation de ce que pourrait être un musée du mouvement street art : conçu dans le respect des normes muséales classiques avec une lumière, une scénographie et un parcours, il se démarque des festivals d'art urbain. Selon le quotidien tunisien Le Temps, il s'agit d'une aventure artistique unique dans l'univers de l'art urbain, un mouvement « en effervescence dans un pays en devenir »[3]selon Mehdi Ben Cheikh, fondateur deDjerbahood et directeur de la Galerie Itinerrance de Paris.

Djerba is a small island in south Tunisia with white sandy beaches and whitewashed domed houses. The Djerban people are culturally distinct from mainland Tunisians and preserve many of their traditions and unique architecture. The medina in Houmt Souk is particularly pleasant and a cheap place to stay for relatively hassle-free shopping and eating. Resort hotels line the eastern coast in the Zone Touristique.
The best time to visit Djerba and enjoy the sun and the sea is the summer, from June to September. In May the temperature is warm enough, especially in the second half of the month, but the sea is still cool. In October the sea is still warm, and there are still many warm and sunny days, but the first depressions, which bring the first rains more to the north, can bring some cloudiness and a bit of wind.
