Best Place To Go In Georgia! Dahonega, GA!
Dahlonega is a city located in the north Georgia mountains. The first major gold rush in the United States took place here. Now it's a tourist and college town with a very pretty downtown. The downtown square has brick sidewalks, flowers and trees everywhere. People here do a great job making the downtown beautiful and inviting to all. The store fronts here are still alive! There're plenty of great places to shop and great restaurants to eat at. We accidentally stumbled into a restaurant called Capers On The Square. Capers has a mediterranean food vibe and the Shrimp Gorgonzola and Salman were SO DANG DANK (so dang delicious)! This city gives us a homey vibe similar to our home city Bozeman Montana.

Athens (formally known as Athens-Clarke County) is a consolidated city–county in the U.S. state of Georgia, in the northeastern part of the state, comprising the former city of Athens proper (the county seat) and Clarke County. The University of Georgia, the state's flagship public research university, is located in this college town, and contributed to its initial growth. In 1991, after a vote the preceding year, the original city abandoned its charter to form a unified government with Clarke County, referred to collectively as Athens-Clarke County. As of the 2010 census, the consolidated city-county (including all of Athens-Clarke County except Winterville and a portion of Bogart) had a total population of 115,452; all of Clarke County had a population of 116,714. Athens is the fifth largest city in Georgia, and the principal city of the Athens-Clarke County, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 192,541 as of the 2010 census. Athens is a city in McMinn County, Tennessee, United States. It is the county seat of McMinn County and the principal city of the Athens Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is part of the larger Chattanooga-Cleveland-Athens Combined Statistical Area. The city is located almost equadistantly between the major cities of Knoxville and Chattanooga.
Athens is centered around the junction of U.S. Route 11, which connects the city to Sweetwater to the north and Cleveland to the south, and State Route 30, which connects Athens to Etowah and U.S. Route 411 to the southeast and Decatur to the west. Interstate 75 passes west of Athens.
