Dragons Teeth - Hawaii
While in Maui, we ventured to the NW side of the island where the surfers were congregating because forecasters were saying the waves would be significant. This is an area called Dragon's Teeth. It is too rocky for surfing, but we enjoyed the waves anyway.
Dragon's Teeth, Maui, Hawaii #2
The Dragon's Teeth lava rock formations in West Maui, Hawaii.
Maui 'Dragon Teeth' view and splash
On the northwest corner of Maui, in Kapalua near Lahaina, hidden behind a golf resort and bordered by an ancient Hawaiian burial ground, there is this amazing rock formation where the last volcanic eruption's lava flow met the crashing waves in full force. This is by the far end of it and doesn't show all the really neat geological curiousities this elemental battle created. I was just recording the pretty waves at the base of the cliff when I was caught by one of their splashes.
Pacific Ocean waves breaking on rocks in Honokahua Bay, Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii
These are Pacific Ocean waves breaking on volcanic rocks in Honokahua Bay as viewed from the Dragon Tooth Trail on Makaluapuna Point in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii on January 11, 2017. I am filming this from the world famous Dragon's Teeth. I hope to post a new video soon showing the Dragon's Teeth better. There is a brief shot of the Dragon's Teeth in this video but they are not the subject of this video and thus this video doesn't do them justice at all.
Should I drive Highway 340 on Maui?
If you're thinking about driving Highway 340 that loops from Kapalua to Kahului, this video may help you decide if you're up for it. There have been accidents and deaths on this road and there are many spots that it's one lane for a good, long stretch. We'll give you tips on what to consider if driving this Maui route is on your bucket list.

KAPALUA COASTAL TRAIL (ALLER) - WEST MAUI - HAWAII
Kapalua Coastal Trail (Aller) - Kapalua - West Maui - Hawaii

Hawaii tiger shark tracking: tag ID 133362
This PacIOOS Voyager map shows the movement of a 13.5 ft (4.1 m) female tiger shark who was fitted with a satellite tag (tag ID 133362) near Kihei, Maui on October 20, 2013. This tag intermittently tracks the shark's location over time as its dorsal fin breaches the water's surface. The square symbol indicates where the shark was originally tagged. This video runs through November 14, 2013. There is a level of uncertainty associated with some of these locations - there may be over a mile in error associated with any given point. For this and other tiger sharks being actively monitored, visit the Pacific Islands Ocean Observing System (PacIOOS) at
With funding from the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR), these data are being collected by Lead Scientists Drs. Carl Meyer and Kim Holland along with other members of the Shark Research Team of the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology (HIMB) of the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

INSANE WATERFALL! ROPE SWING + CLIFF JUMPING! - Maui Hawaii
Hey guys! I had alot of fun making this video. Please make sure to like and share with your friends!
Planning to come back here soon!
Hiking on the Kapalua Coastal Trail. Maui, Hawaii
Hiking on the Kapalua Coastal Trail .in Maui
Maui Lava Field
While visiting friends on Maui I had the chance to fly my hexacopter over a field of lava created between 200-300 years ago.
St. Anthony Wreck, West Maui
A nice dive, even if the visibility was not the customary clarity we hope for diving Maui. St. Anthony is 65 ft. long. There was a current moving from stern to bow of the ship. This is a man made reef with some additional elements (e.g. tires and concrete) which were dumped to increase the reef area with limited success. I was diving with B& B out of Kehei, Maui. Always enjoy diving with them.
Walk with me on the Kapalua Coastal Trail - Maui
There's a really cool walk along the shoreline here in the Napili/Kapalua area of West Maui. It's called the Kapalua Coastal Trail. It goes past some epic beaches, Kapalua Bay Golf Course and ends up at DT Fleming Beach in front of the Ritz Carlton. I do a GroPro Hero 7 Timewarp sequence for the entire walk and then have a bunch of clips showing sites along the way. Come walk with me! The scenery is really pretty.
