Two Days In Beautiful Krakow & Changing Plans⎮Poland Trip 2018
Hi beautiful friends! I hope you are well today ♡ I'm so excited to share with you my adventures in amazing Krakow, Poland, for the first time! This was an amazing city with so much to offer, so rich in culture, and so breathtaking in its own way. I arrived in Krakow via the rapid train service from Warsaw Central Station, and got to explore beautiful Old Town, St Mary's Basilica, Wawel Castle, Kazimeirz, and even a short day trip to Wieliczka for a Salt Mine Tour. This mine was definitely something I had never seen before and if you ever visit Krakow, I highly recommend it :) The vegan food was of course abundant as well, which is amazing! These two and a half days seemed to fly by, and it just felt so surreal once again to actually be in this city, another dream that came true. Thank you so much to the kind hearted souls who I also met during this time, I appreciate you wholeheartedly and I am simply filled with pure love. Every day I wake up with so much gratitude for this life, these unforgettable experiences, and I hope this vlog could also inspire you to release your inner child, explore, surrender, and do things that make you feel alive. You are worthy♡ I am sending my love! xxx

ROAD TRIP FROM WARSAW TO KRAKOW IN POLAND!
We woke up at 4:30 am to take a little road trip from Warsaw to Krakow in Poland!
We first wandered along the remarkably beautiful undergrounds of the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Magnificent chambers chiselled out in rock salt. Amazing underground saline lakes, majestic timber constructions and unique statues sculpted in salt. Almost 3 kilometres of meandering corridors, 800 steps to climb of which 350 have to be descended to reach the depth of 135 meters underground. Thus it is no surprise that till now, the Tourist Route, the main visiting route of the mine has been visited by 41,500,000 tourists from around the whole world in search of adventures. source:
Then we visited the Wawel Royal Castle and it was probably my most favorite part! The Wawel Castle is a castle residency located in central Kraków, Poland. Built at the behest of King Casimir III the Great.
Afterwards we toured Krakow old town and ate delicious food! The day came to a quick end as we checked into our Airbnb in Zakopane! Stay tuned for tomorrow's vlog!

The Gestapo Headquarters on Pomorska Street in Krakow continue to remind visitors of the German occupation, now on the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII.
Starting in the early days of WWII in 1939, Krakow was an administrative center for the Gestapo, the police force that ruled with impunity. Pomorska Street was the jail cell where prisoners and those in the Polish Underground were tortured for information before their probable executions in concentration and death camps.
Muzeum Krakowa has created a thorough permanent exhibition, named People of Krakow in Times of Terror 1939-1945-1956, to bring attention the sufferings of ordinary citizens who fought against repressive Nazi and Communist regimes. At these headquarters are the chilling pencil etchings, still legible, of prisoners' final days.

Vistula River/Wawel Castle
The villagers had limited options. The dragon beneath a nearby hill was waiting to consume their sheep and the last of their daughters. Young man after young man had failed to defeat the terrible monster. With few willing to risk certain and fiery death, the villagers put out a call for help. A cobbler’s apprentice stepped forward, though he was but a simple man and called foolhardy and suicidal. The apprentice had no armor nary a sword but he offered an ingenious plan to slay the dragon. He used all his money to buy three sheep and some sulphur. He stuffed the sulphur into the sheep and seasoned the carcasses with spices to fool the dragon into eating it. The poison would do the trick, he hoped.
The apprentice dragged the sheep to the entrance and waited. Awakened and in a rage, the dragon emerged from the cave and devoured the sheep in one go, and then retreated toward the cave. But just as he reached the entrance, a mighty gurgle and roar came from his belly, a reaction to the sulphurous mixture. The dragon, though, did not die. He marched to the Vistula and drank some water. Then he drank some more, then more and more until he had drunk half the river. He swelled so large he exploded and only mere scraps fell to earth. The successful apprentice-turned-slayer inherited the treasures of the dragon’s lair and became king, King Krakus, with his castle set on the nearby hill above the dragon’s lair. The apprentice, some trickery and the flowing river had slain the dragon and created the legend of Wawel Castle.
If Wawel Castle is the spiritual heart of Poland, the Vistula River is its lifeblood, from a source of irrigation and trade to a setting for recreation and entertainment. Called the “Queen of Polish Rivers,” the Vistula gathers waters from the southern mountains near Krakow and stretches them peacefully over a thousand kilometres to the Baltic Sea in the far north at Gdańsk. Although peaceful most days, the river sweeps up more than half of the water in the country and frequently reminds residents of their feeble attempts to pacify it.
Vistula River is very long as goes through Krakow and Warsaw as well. Most beautiful is at Krakow, with the views of Wawel Hill, where the Cathedral and Castle is noticeable in all its glory for the red brick color, especially at nights with lights on it. People can walk along the river or get a tour in one of the local fishing boats as we did and it definitely was a very nice experience – we were lucky enough to get the boat all for ourselves as there were no other tourists at that time of day just for 50 polish zloty per person.
Highly suggested to get the tour from the local fisherman there and then and not to book beforehand from some tour agency… it will be a rip off (rest assured)

On this day, we took a train to travel from Warsaw to Kraków! This was a very special day for us because we were entering into the heart of our pilgrimage. All 3 Saints in which were following on this pilgrimage, (St. Faustina, St. John Paul II, & St. Maximilian Kolbe) proclaimed to mercy of God and were essential players in the Divine Mercy Message...aka the reason why they are now called the Mercy Saints. This video took especially longer than the others just because of the sheer importance and beauty that needs to be shared!

How to Spend Three Days in Krakow, Poland
We spent 3 days in Krakow, Poland and stayed at the Greg and Tom Hostel. We took day trips to Auschwitz Concentration Camp and the Wieliczka Salt Mine. We spent the rest of our time eating delicious food, shopping, and checked out a few local bars. A benefit to traveling in Poland is definitely the prices. The costs of just about everything were significantly lower than in the U.S. Your dollar will go far!
