Winter bits and bobs - Cookstown, N.Ireland 2010
A few videos from around Cookstown. The overnight temperature hit about -10C, and it didn't feel like it got much above zero. The video is a bit disjointed, sorry! And I really should have brought a tripod. Here's what I got:
This is the first fox I've ever seen! He'd just caught a rat and was running away with it.
Lough Fea totally frozen over, and where people seemed oblivious to the three warning signs saying the ice wasn't safe to walk on and the red tape across the gate. Two people died doing this elsewhere in the country yesterday.
Some of the wildlife around Drum Manor forest park, where the lake has almost totally frozen over and the ducks cling to the last bit of open water.
And finally a very icy waterfall behind the Wellbrook Beetling Mill, with some huge icicles!

Another one of my seasonal videos, this time Autumn. I had a wonderful time exploring the many forests and parks around the Counties of Down and Antrim in Northern Ireland over the past 2 years. I didnt want it to end.... Discovering and learning about the different types of fungi was challenging but fascinating. The one fungi that eluded me was the fairy tail mushroom - Fly Agaric. There is always next autumn...I'll be on its trail...
The places visited where - Tollymore Forest Park, Crawfordsburn Country Park, The Glens of Antrim waterfalls - Ess-na-Crub and Ess-na-Larach. Antrim Castle Gardens, Minnowburn and Lagan Towpath, Crumlin Glen, Ormeau Park Belfast, Gleno waterfall, Stormont grounds, Hillsborough Parish Church and Belvoir Forest.
