Visit Lake Chelan, Lake in Chelan County, North Central Washington State, United States
Lake Chelan is a narrow, 50.5 miles (81.3 km) long lake in Chelan County, north-central Washington state, U.S.[1] It is the largest natural lake in the state by any measure. With the completion of Lake Chelan Dam in 1927, the elevation of the lake was raised up to 21 feet (6.4 m).[2] Two communities lie on the southern end of the lake, and a third sits at the far north end, providing a gateway to the North Cascades National Park. What Would Happen if “The BIG ONE” (Earthquake) Hits the WEST COAST
When most people think of the “Big One,” they often think about an earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault. However, there’s actually a more dangerous fault called the Cascadia Subduction Zone. The Cascadia Subduction Zone, also known as the Cascadia Fault, is almost 700 miles long and stretches the west coast of North America from Vancouver Island to Northern California. For some perspective, an earthquake caused by the San Andreas Fault could reach 8.3 on the Richter scale, but a Cascadia earthquake will be more like a 9.2. That means that the quake could shake for up to four and a half minutes.

Eating a GIANT GEODUCK in Washington! | Exotic Seafood!
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week:
►T-shirts and caps available now:
During my trip to Seattle and Washington State, USA, one of the things I was most looking forward to doing was taking a day trip to Samish Bay, home to Taylor Shellfish Farms. It wasn’t too long of a drive, but it was a beautiful drive and well worth it. We pulled into the bay and the shellfish farm mid-morning. Although I knew we’d be eating as many oysters as possible, there was something I wasn’t sure we were going to have a chance to eat, but I desperately wanted to try it.
We were in luck, the had it.
Yes, I’m talking about a geoduck (pronounced gooey duck). It has to be one of the most bizarre, strange shaped shells of them all - I don’t think we need to go into details here. But it’s truly unique and soon I would find out how delicious it was.
You arrive to Samish Oyster Bar and Shellfish Market and you can choose from a dozen of so different types of oysters and they will either shuck them for you or you can shuck them yourself, we chose the latter option. We also got a couple crabs, and of course the geoduck.
The kind staff at Taylor Shellfish Farm sliced up our geoduck into sashimi slices, sectioning off the siphon shaft from the body part, both of which were different in taste and texture. They did an amazing job slicing it up. The geoduck was absolutely amazing, so sweet naturally, which a wonderful cartilage like crunch to it.
We also had a plate of Pacific Northwest Oysters, all of the varieties which were fantastic and unique.
I would highly recommend a day trip up to Samish Bay to eat fresh and amazing local seafood at Taylor Shellfish Farm, from the source - from tide to table!
Total price for everything - $129.16
Since Samish Bay is not too far from Bellingham, we continued our drive to Bellingham where my friend Jason took us to a few of his favorite breweries.
Melvin Brewing - First we stopped at Melvin Brewing, and the highlight for me was the Thai poutine, something I had never tried before, and it was actually dangerously tasty.
Total price for everything - $86.96
Kulshan Brewing Company - Next we stopped at Kulshan and ate at StrEAT Food Bellingham.
Total price for everything - $26
But the highlight for me was undoubtedly the Samish Bay experience, and getting to eat the strange and exotic geoduck delicacy from the source!

MOST Mysterious Ghost Towns in the US

5. Thurmond West Virginia
Once a thriving center of Coal mining in West Virginia, Thurmond was a prosperous place of commerce and businesses along the Ohio Railway. It popped up in the 1880’s in the center of the state and consisted of popular hotels, casinos, banks, schools. It was a fairly well organized city with strict laws on drinking. In 1888 a rail station was built which allowed for tourism in the area and also to carry the coal out of the hills. The population reached a peak of 462 people 1930 but steady downfall would occur not too long after. A popular hotel was burnt to the ground which which had startled much of the population and would finally reach 0 in the year 2000. You can see the contrast between the cities built out in the west and out in the east during this time. There was much more technological advancements and the addition of coal to a city at this period of time would allow them to heat their homes. Surprisingly the city hasn’t received too many vandals and much of it’s past is preserved.
4. Salton Sea
Gallons of water were sent gushing into a dry lake bed after a storm caused an irrigation canal to flood and break in the Colorado River. So the Salton Sea is basically lucky to exist in that sense. A resort town was built near this body of water, which became a popular location for boating. Many people once flocked here to soak up the sun, go jet skiing and drive fancy yachts in the booming 50’s and 60’s. Stars like the Beach Boys and Bono would encore this lake, right in the heart of California’s desert. It’s probably now the last place you’d want to go on vacation unless you enjoy putrid odors and some of those boats are left abandoned on this decaying lake.. Not all good things last forever and this place quickly turned into an ecological nightmare due to pesticides and fertilizers from nearby farms and the irrigation system. It’s seen as one of California’s biggest environmental blunders of all time It became much too polluted to sustain life even for fish. The inhabitants quickly fled once the smell of the water became unbearable. To this day, dead fish litter the once popular beaches, leaving a rotten egg like smell that would be enough to scare off any urban explorer and it’s certainly not good for tourism. The size of the lake continues to shrink even in 2017 and the smell of rotting fish will continue to get worse.
3. St Elmo Colorado
Don’t forget the rockie mountains also have their fair share of gold as well. And where there was once gold, there are abandoned towns. This places is located in the Sawatch Mountains and features well-preserved wooden buildings from the 1880’s after the gold and silver mines sprung up. The town had a general store, a town hall, 5 hotels, dancing halls and saloons during it’s peak around the 1890’s the resources were mined and not much else was left, the railroad was closed so no one kept on coming here. Some residents seemed to stay until 1952 when the postal service was cut off. If you don’t mind high elevation at 9,961 feet, this might be an enjoyable place to visit and it’s our ghost town with the highest elevation on this list.. It’s also one of Colorado’s maintained ghost towns.
2. Virginia City, Nevada
Virginia city grew quickly in the 1850’s and 60’s after the huge discovery of the comstock lode which was a major silver deposit in the sierra nevada mountains,. But once the silver was gone, everyone fled the city. You can actually explore one of our most mysterious ghost towns in the US on google maps. Check out the entire well preserved ghost town of Virginia City, which is also rumored to be one of the most haunted places in the US. Besides some of the modern day vehicles, this place is exactly the way it was over 100 years ago and it’s the most haunted place in Nevada. Some ghost towns are quite as accessible on google maps, and this is one of the more detailed ones we were able to find. Ignore the motorcycles and get a good feel for how historic site would have looked, when miners were sifting the the hills in search of gold. Drop into the Silver Terrace cemetery for a creepy flash from the past!
LA Angel's Tent City: The New Face of Homelessness
We are in a homelessness CRISIS and the faces of the homeless may surprise you.
Help us document and support the new faces of homelessness and those at need in an effort to shed more light and awareness on this growing issue.
Tent cities are popping up all over America at rapid speeds (The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty announced that research showed a 1,342% increase in homeless encampments reported between 2007 and 2017).
I and my producing partner Mitch Koss got to check out the controversial Los Angeles Angel's Tent City located in Anaheim, California where more than 1,000 people are said to call this area home. Within minutes, we met a 34 year old college educated single Mom born and raised in Orange County, aka The OC, who is now 6 months in to living in her tent. She let us film inside her tent so we could show you this dangerous living environment. Also, I get tempted to buy a bicycle from Mike's Bikes, another locally born and raised OC native millennial now 3 years into living in tent city. He lives in a sub camp with his brother a contractor short on jobs and his fiancee who works full time in a local store.
Perhaps the reason why California, New York, Florida and Washington state account for so many homeless people is that homelessness is no longer simply the result of mental illness and / or addiction -- which it mainly was starting in the '80s when the mental ill were de-institutionalized, that is, tossed onto the streets, so the public didn't have to pay for their care.
Today homelessness is looking more and more like the result of income inequality, and the rising unaffordability it brings.
For example, the state of California has the world's 6th largest economy, which means there's a lot of accumulated wealth here. But last fall, the US Census Bureau said that when cost-of-living is factored in, California has the highest poverty rate in the nation, nearly 1 in 5 people... And nearly 1 in 8 residents of the US living in California:
Your financial support is SO APPRECIATED. My vision is to give these forgotten / ignored neighbors a voice, a platform, and an opportunity to succeed.
PLEASE SHARE.
THANK YOU.

The Nightmare World of Gang Stalking
More than 10,000 people worldwide claim they're the victims of a vast organized surveillance effort designed to ruin their lives, a phenomenon known as gang stalking. Mental health experts see gang stalking as a symptom of paranoia, but the self-identified victims who insist what they're experiencing is real have come together online and in support groups to share their stories.
VICE met up with a handful of Americans who claim their lives have been derailed by gang stalking to understand what serious consequences the phenomenon presents. Then we hear from Dr. Josh Bazell, one of many physicians who believes the victims of gang stalking are experiencing dangerous delusions that could be treated by mental health professionals.

Driving Downtown - Richmond Main Street 4K - Virginia USA
Driving Downtown Streets - Main Street - Richmond Virginia USA - Episode 48.
Starting Point: .
Richmond is the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the United States.
The site of Richmond had been an important village of the Powhatan Confederacy, and was briefly settled by English colonists from Jamestown in 1609, and in 1610–1611. The present city of Richmond was founded in 1737. It became the capital of the Colony and Dominion of Virginia in 1780. During the Revolutionary War period, several notable events occurred in the city, including Patrick Henry's Give me liberty or give me death speech in 1775 at St. John's Church, and the passage of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom written by Thomas Jefferson. During the American Civil War, Richmond served as the capital of the Confederate States of America. The city entered the 20th century with one of the world's first successful electric streetcar systems, as well as a national hub of African-American commerce and culture, the Jackson Ward neighborhood.
Richmond's economy is primarily driven by law, finance, and government, with federal, state, and local governmental agencies, as well as notable legal and banking firms, located in the downtown area. The city is home to both the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, one of 13 United States courts of appeals, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, one of 12 Federal Reserve Banks. Dominion Resources and MeadWestvaco, Fortune 500 companies, are headquartered in the city, with others in the metropolitan area.
Economy
Law and finance have long been driving forces in the economy.[87] The city is home to both the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, one of 13 United States courts of appeals, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, one of 12 Federal Reserve Banks, as well as offices for international companies such as Genworth Financial, CapitalOne, Philip Morris USA, and numerous other banks and brokerages. Richmond is also home to four of the largest law firms in the United States: Hunton & Williams, McGuireWoods, Williams Mullen, and LeClairRyan. Another law firm with a major Richmond presence is Troutman Sanders, which merged with Richmond-based Mays & Valentine LLP in 2001.
Richmond's revitalized downtown includes the Canal Walk, a new Greater Richmond Convention Center, and expansion on both VCU campuses. A new performing arts center, Richmond CenterStage,[90] opened on September 12, 2009.[91] The complex included a renovation of the Carpenter Center and construction of a new multipurpose hall, community playhouse, and arts education center in parts of the old Thalhimers department store.[92]
Richmond is also fast-becoming known for its food scene, with several restaurants in the Fan, Church Hill, Jackson Ward and elsewhere around the city generating regional and national attention for their fare. Departures magazine named Richmond The Next Great American Food City in August 2014.[93][94] Also in 2014, Southern Living magazine named three Richmond restaurants – Comfort, Heritage and The Roosevelt – among its 100 Best Restaurants in the South,[95] while Metzger Bar & Butchery made its Best New Restaurants: 12 To Watch list.[96] Craft beer and liquor production is also growing in the River City, with twelve micro-breweries in city proper; the oldest is Legend Brewery, founded in 1994. Three distilleries, Reservoir Distillery, Belle Isle Craft Spirits and James River Distillery, were established in 2010, 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Additionally, Richmond is gaining attention from the film and television industry, with several high-profile films shot in the metro region in the past few years, including the major motion picture Lincoln which led to Daniel Day-Lewis's third Oscar, Killing Kennedy with Rob Lowe, airing on the National Geographic Channel and Turn, starring Jamie Bell and airing on AMC. In 2015 Richmond will be the main filming location for the upcoming PBS drama series Mercy Street, which will premiere in Winter 2016. Several organizations, including the Virginia Film Office and the Virginia Production Alliance, along with events like the Richmond International Film Festival and French Film Festival, continue to put draw supporters of film and media to the region.

New York on Lock Down! Hurricane Sandy! Mandatory Evacuation!
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Sunday ordered the evacuation of 375 000 people in low-lying areas threatened by Hurricane Sandy. This is a serious and dangerous storm, Bloomberg told a news conference as he ordered the mandatory evacuation ahead of the storm which is expected to start hitting on Monday. Airlines have cancelled hundreds of flights into airports along the US east coast ahead of the arrival of a major storm, authorities said Sunday. Air France cancelled all flights into New York and Washington on Monday while US airlines have called off hundreds of domestic flights. New York airports were to stay open on Sunday but the airport authority warned passengers to expect disruptions. New York authorities ordered the subway, commuter trains and buses to close on Sunday ahead of the arrival of a feared super-storm. The New York subway and regional buses will stop from 7pm state governor Mario Cuomo announced as he warned that the impending storm was not something to be taken lightly. Frankenstorm Hurricane Sandy shadowed the east coast of the United States on Sunday, raking the Carolinas with stinging rains and high waves as authorities braced for the potentially devastating Frankenstorm days before the US elections. The looming superstorm played havoc with the US presidential race, with Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both cancelling campaign events and scrambling to rearrange schedules with the November 6 polls just nine days away. President Barack Obama moved up a campaign trip to Florida Sunday so he could be back in Washington when the storm makes landfall, predicted for early Tuesday somewhere between Virginia and Massachusetts. At 1200 GMT, the storm was 420 kilometers southeast of Cape Hateras, North Carolina, packing sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center said. Sandy earlier claimed at least 66 lives in the Caribbean, most of them in impoverished, quake-ravaged Haiti where 51 people were reported killed. Though still far out at sea, the storm was already making its presence felt on US territory, spinning off high winds and seas for hundreds of miles around. Television images from North Carolina's Outerbanks, a chain of low lying barrier islands, showed wild surf and pelting wind-driven rains that offered a foretaste of conditions to come further north. The National Hurricane Centre (NHC) warned residents to expect life-threatening storm surge flooding to the Mid-Atlantic coast, including Long Island Sound and New York Harbour. At the National Weather Service, forecasters warned the storm would result in significant impacts along coastal North Carolina beginning late Saturday. Current projections show the storm making landfall early Tuesday on the coast of Delaware at near hurricane strength, then bending north and inland as it merges with a cold front descending from Canada. Weather experts say that collision of a rain-laden tropical storm with a cold front is an explosive mix, creating a super-charged weather system bringing floods, high winds and even heavy snow across a swath of eastern states and as far inland as Ohio. Nor'easter on steroids Anticipating the worst, governors declared states of emergency in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, the US capital Washington and a coastal county in North Carolina. This is a large storm that is forecasted to impact the Mid-Atlantic and other parts of the East Coast with strong winds, coastal flooding, inland flooding, rain and snow, said Craig Fugate, head of the US Federal Emergency Management Agency. Sandy will be more like a large nor'easter on steroids, wrote Alex Sosnowski, a senior meteorologist for Accuweather.com, who said it could lead to billions of dollars in damage. In Delaware, Governor Jack Markell issued an evacuation order, urging coastal residents and those in flood-prone areas to leave their homes and to stay safe. Please take this evacuation order seriously. It will help save lives of both residents and first responders, he said in a message on Twitter. New Jersey also ordered evacuations for its southern coastline, including Cape May and Atlantic counties and Long Beach Island. The governor also ordered all gambling shut down in beach-side Atlantic City starting at 3pm on Sunday. Tolls were suspended on the northbound and westbound lanes of the state's major highways to help residents leave more quickly. -- Sapa-AFP and Reuters.
