Weekend #2 of the British CR:X Kite Race Series is over! Riders and racers from across the country came to The Watersports Academy in Poole for another weekend of action on and off the water. With the support of Bournemouth & Poole Kitesurf Club a fantastic weekend was had by all.
The weekend kicked off on Friday with a #Foil #Clinic organised by Easy Riders giving #kiters the opportunity to learn #foiling with expert guidance. In total 9 riders progressed their foil riding and are now looking to race their CR:X foils at the next races.
Saturday followed with light winds giving the competitors time to review the CR:X equipment while waiting for the wind to fill in. In the afternoon light wind allowed some to get on the water. Saturday was rounded off by a fantastic South African Braai BBQ featuring the famous Boerewors sausage.
We were greeted by beautiful weather on Sunday and a promised forecast of 12 knots by the afternoon. By 1200 the wind filled in and all the competitors took to the water. With a full schedule and limited time, rather than running formal races, the race committee and riders decided that everyone should hit the water and master their foil skills. The RESTUBE prize was given out to James Gore for his enthusiasm being the first on the water, and the CR:X - Convertible Kite Racing Club prize was given to the RAF Kite Club for having the most members on the water at one time!
A huge thanks to The Watersports Academy and Bournemouth & Poole Kitesurf Club for their hospitality and our brillian supporters and sponsors NP NeilPryde RESTUBE OneDesign Racing UK CR:X - Convertible Kite Racing for helping make the event happen. Thanks also to Neon Peach Films for their fantastic edit.
See you at Southend-On-Sea 16th to 17th June!
