Kids, don't try this at home...
In this video, I'm scuba diving Philippines at Ocean Adventure Marine Park, Subic Bay.
Friends and I are diving with a bunch of marine animals in our Aqua Lung gear.
The sea creatures in this video are living in the ocean, in their natural environment. They're also training for and performing their wonderful shows. If you come here, you too can dive with them and their trainers. You'll have a whale of a time!
This is yet another example of the incredible Puerto Galera diving.
A great place for scuba diving Philippines is Puerto Galera. There are almost 40 scuba dive sites, from coral and fish to giant clams and ancient shipwrecks.
Come stay at Badladz Adventure Resort or Badladz Beach Resort in Puerto Galera. We'd love to have you stay! Out dive shop will happily show you the incredible natural wonders in the area.
One of the best underwater adventures you can have in the Philippines is scuba diving! If you don’t have any experience with scuba diving, or can’t even swim, you can just go to a dive school here in the Philippines and take scuba diving lessons to get you ready as soon as possible!
Once you have taken those scuba diving lessons and have your scuba gear ready, you can now start diving deep to start swimming with sharks, sea turtles, and other marine animals! Don’t forget to bring your underwater camera before starting your underwater adventures to capture every moment you spend with the beautiful marine animals.
Cheers,
Sean

USS New York (ACR-2) wreck dive in Subic Bay
USS New York (ACR-2) was a United States Navy armored cruiser. The fourth Navy ship to be named in honor of the state of New York, she was later renamed Saratoga and then Rochester (CA-2).
Name: New York
Laid down: 19 September 1890

Deck: 6 in (15 cm) (amidships)
Barbettes: 4–6 in (10–15 cm)
Turrets: 6.5 in (17 cm); 5 in (13 cm) (hoists)
Conning Tower: 7 in (18 cm
Since being scuttled, New York has been transformed into an artificial reef. The growth of the tourism industry has expanded and Subic Bay has become an upcoming dive vacation location. New York has become one of the most dived shipwrecks in Asia, given her somewhat shallow depth (59–88 ft (18–27 m)), ease of access, and proximity to other wrecks and activities. The wreck can be dived by most confident divers.
Rochester was scuttled with a small charge that blew a hole in her bottom in 1941. This resulted in minimal damage and left the wreck relatively intact. However, from 11 July 1967 to 20 July 1967 Harbor Clearance Team Four and Yard Light Lift Craft Two attached to Harbor Clearance Unit One conducted demolition as the U.S. Navy decided to try to flatten the wreck. Large charges were used on the central hull and these resulted in extensive damage around the midsection. This lowered the wreck; enabling deep draft tankers to approach and moor to the POL buoy planned for Subic Bay (at the same time, Navy divers helped to clear more than 650 wrecks from Manila bay).
Basic Divers – Lower than average visibility (due to proximity to the Olongapo river mouth) and deeper water makes this site more suitable for divers who have gained experience beyond entry-level training. The top of the wreck lies in 17-22m depth, covered in soft and whip corals with many reef fish. Lying slightly deeper (~59 ft (18 m) deep)divers can examine the uppermost barrel of an 8 in (200 mm) primary gun. The 361 ft (110 m) length gives plenty of area to observe as corals, sponges and fish life that have had over 60 years to convert it into home. Scorpionfish are common around this wreck and divers are reminded that contact with these fish is dangerous.
Experienced Wreck Divers – More advanced divers can explore the propeller, conning tower and deck areas. There are some areas of relatively easy penetration, with open-spaces and sufficient height to stay clear of major silt deposits. These include the following. The mess deck (2nd deck down) has an interesting penetration 197 ft (60 m) with portholes above allowing light, but no exit. The boiler room can be explored within recreation diving limits. Due to the nature of the wreck, with low light/viz and the risk of silt disturbance; redundant gas supplies and guideline deployment training are recommended for penetrations.
Advanced/Technical Wreck Divers – Three divers have died exploring inside the USS New York - which indicates significant hazards and the need for advanced technical wreck training. Divers with appropriate decompression and advanced/technical wreck penetration training can access the engine room, machinery spaces and lower decks. These are in excellent condition, with huge pipes, machinery and valve wheels. Spaces can be extremely confined, with many restrictions and high risk of silt-out. Penetration is generally made on twin tanks, whilst deploying a constant guideline to the exit. Both engine room entrances are posted with notices warning of the dangers to the untrained.

Our Scuba Dive on The Japanese Patrol Boat in Subic Bay
Patrol Boat (Japanese)
This Japanese vessel was also bombed by US forces in 1944. She now lies in Triboa Bay on the southern side of Subic Bay. She lies in 25 metres of water in an upright position. Marine life is overwhelming with lots of fish life and corals that have taken up residence and providing numerous homes for other marine organisms, getting into the patrol boat is not really worth it as it is tight entry with not a great deal to see.

PCGA Reef Building Program
PCGA VOLUNTEERS COMMITMENT TO A BETTER ENVIRONMENT, A BETTER FUTURE.
Last April 20, members of the 111th Auxiliary Squadron CGAD NCR-CL of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) launched a marine environmental project aimed at creating an underwater rainforest to save threatened aquatic life. Dubbed as Build a Reef Project, the PCGA's marine conservation efforts are now underway as layers of concrete blocks were submerged some 100 meters from the shoreline of the ACEA Beach Resort (formerly known as Dungaree Beach) inside this free port.
EARTH DAY
Two days later, in celebration of Earth Day last April 22, the last blocks to complete the six (6) reef units or also known as “Fish Condos” were put to place. The event was participated by no less than the National Director ADM Valentin Prieto PCGA. He is also the person who started this mandatory project several years back. Now taking the helm as National Director, ADM Prieto continues to expand his campaign across the country through all its districts. By 0600 several members of the 111th Auxiliary Squadron and other invited PCGA members from other squadrons started the briefing headed by RADM Gerry Reyes together with LCDR Johnny Co.
SQUADRON 111
The 111th Auxiliary Squadron PCGA, headed by Captain Randy Escolango, is based inside Subic Bay Freeport Zone. It covers the Zambales Region under the CGADNCR-CL district, one of the 12 districts of PCG-PCGA which includes NCR and Central Luzon.
This squadron has been working with the Lighthouse Marina Resort on several environmental projects including coastal cleanups, environmental summits, waste management workshops, reef restoration, and underwater cleanups. Promotion of safety of life and property at sea, in the protection of the marine environment and its resources is one of the mandate of the PCGA.
SUCCESS OF ICC ZAMBALES
RADM Gerry Reyes, Deputy National Director for Administration, is also the founder of the International Coastal Philippines (ICCPH). He recognizes the effort of the ICC Zambales group for being the most successful ICC Campaign to date with volunteers increased a hundredfold in seven years from 800 in 2009 to almost 90,000 in 2015. It serves as a remarkable model for other areas in the Philippines not just in organizing coastal cleanups but also in the aspects of waste reduction and environmental preservation,” said RADM Reyes.
The International Coastal Cleanup Zambales, headed by Zed Avecilla, Director of the Lighthouse Marina Resort Legacy Foundation and also a Lieutenant Commander of the 111th Auxiliary Squadron, has evolved into a campaign to change people’s behaviour that causes pollution. “Our goal is to increase the level of awareness through education and information dissemination; and through the support of the PCGA and its network of volunteers, we are able to achieve this goal across the country” said LCDR Avecilla.

The Philippines ( ( listen) FIL-ə-peenz; Filipino: Pilipinas [ˌpɪlɪˈpinɐs] or Filipinas [ˌfɪlɪˈpinɐs]), officially the Republic of the Philippines (Filipino: Republika ng Pilipinas), is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia. Situated in the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of about 7,641 islands that are categorized broadly under three main geographical divisions from north to south: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The capital city of the Philippines is Manila and the most populous city is Quezon City, both part of Metro Manila. Bounded by the South China Sea on the west, the Philippine Sea on the east and the Celebes Sea on the southwest, the Philippines shares maritime borders with Taiwan to the north, Vietnam to the west, Palau to the east and Malaysia and Indonesia to the south.
The Philippines' location on the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator makes the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons, but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world's greatest biodiversity. The Philippines has an area of 300,000 km2 (120,000 sq mi), according to the Philippines Statistical Authority and the WorldBank and, as of 2015, had a population of at least 100 million. As of January 2018, it was the eighth-most populated country in Asia and the 12th most populated country in the world. Approximately 10 million additional Filipinos lived overseas, comprising one of the world's largest diasporas. Multiple ethnicities and cultures are found throughout the islands. In prehistoric times, Negritos were some of the archipelago's earliest inhabitants. They were followed by successive waves of Austronesian peoples. Exchanges with Chinese, Malay, and Indian nations occurred. Then, various competing maritime states were established under the rule of datus, rajahs, sultans or lakans.
The arrival of Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer leading a fleet for the Spanish, in Homonhon, Eastern Samar in 1521 marked the beginning of Hispanic colonization. In 1543, Spanish explorer Ruy López de Villalobos named the archipelago Las Islas Filipinas in honor of Philip II of Spain. With the arrival of Miguel López de Legazpi from Mexico City, in 1565, the first Hispanic settlement in the archipelago was established. The Philippines became part of the Spanish Empire for more than 300 years. This resulted in Catholicism becoming the dominant religion. During this time, Manila became the western hub of the trans-Pacific trade connecting Asia with Acapulco in the Americas using Manila galleons. As the 19th century gave way to the 20th, the Philippine Revolution quickly followed, which then spawned the short-lived First Philippine Republic, followed by the bloody Philippine–American War. Aside from the period of Japanese occupation, the United States retained sovereignty over the islands until after World War II, when the Philippines was recognized as an independent nation. Since then, the unitary sovereign state has often had a tumultuous experience with democracy, which included the overthrow of a dictatorship by a non-violent revolution. It is a founding member of the United Nations, World Trade Organization, Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, and the East Asia Summit. It also hosts the headquarters of the Asian Development Bank. The Philippines is considered to be an emerging market and a newly industrialized country, which has an economy transitioning from being based on agriculture to one based more on services and manufacturing. Along with East Timor, the Philippines is one of Southeast Asia's predominantly Christian nations.

language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills

SUMMARY
=======
