SUMMARY
=======
The Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (Spanish for Royal Road of the Interior Land) was a 2560 kilometer (1,600 mile) long trade route between Mexico City and San Juan Pueblo, New Mexico, from 1598 to 1882.In 2010, 55 sites and 5 existing World Heritage Sites along the Mexican section of the route became an entry on the Unesco World Heritage List. Those sites include historic cities, towns, bridges, haciendas and other monuments along the 1,400 km route between the Historic Center of Mexico City (independent World Heritage Site) and the town of Valle de Allende, Chihuahua.
The 404 mile (646 kilometer) section of the route within the United States was proclaimed as a part of the National Historic Trail system on 13 October 2000. El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro National Historic Trail is overseen by both the National Park Service and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management with aid from El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro Trail Assoc. also known as CARTA. A portion of the trail near San Acacia, New Mexico was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Hello. My channel is dedicated the various subjects including tourism, boating, fishing, mountain climbing, hiking, and so much more. Some of my videos show some of my air guns that I have collected for my outdoors activities. Other videos show the places that I have visited, including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, the United States, Canada, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greece, India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia, Japan, Hawaii. Some of my videos are more “scientific”, meaning that they focus on animals and plants I have encountered on my many trips around the world. Which country would I visit again? That would be France and Nicaragua. Which one would I never go back to? None, they all have something to share. I have found that the outback was as much fun as the city and it really depends one the day and weather when you choose where you will go. Generally, I do not like the winter or extreme heat, so that make me more of a autumn explorer. In recent times, I have also started to cover many of the gadgets that I have seen in stores, since there is so much. Like Motorola, Verykool, Samsung, Nokia, Blusens, Toshiba, Sony, Alcatel, Blu, LG, Apple, iPhone, iPod, iPad, Macbook, and so much more. I have also covered automotive topics for the help of my viewers, which has included work on Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan, Acura, Infiniti, Dodge, Pontiac, Seat, Fiat, Peugeot, Lada, Skoda, Mazda, Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, Volkswagen. Other topics I enjoy are doing reviews on phones, tablets, Delonghi heaters, Panasonic memory banks, Microsoft laptops, television, MP3 players, dash cameras, normal cameras, GPS unites and so much more.

The video comes from the forward-facing on-board image recorders from the two trains involved in the accident. Video from the Grain Train lead locomotive 6990 was downloaded from the undamaged GE Lococam on-board image recorder. Parametric data from the Grain Train lead locomotive 6990 was downloaded from the undamaged event recorder. Video from the Crude Oil Train lead locomotive 4934 was obtained from data transmitted wirelessly when the emergency brakes were applied, and parametric data was downloaded from the trailing distributed power unit locomotive 6684.
The video begins at 14:08:37 Central Standard Time (CST) with the view from the front of the Grain Train as it travels westbound on main track 1. The text “Grain Train #6990” and the speed of the train are displayed at the bottom center of the screen. The westbound direction of travel is briefly indicated by a text annotation. The train passes a track switch and a vehicle belonging to a signal maintainer at 14:09:06; the vehicle is labeled by a text annotation for about 10 seconds as the train approaches the vehicle. The front end of the crude oil train begins to be visible on the adjacent track to the left at about 14:09:41, and it is labeled with a text annotation. The derailment of the Grain Train occurs at 14:09:57, after which time a digital counter is shown on the right in the image, indicating the time in seconds since the derailment. A text annotation indicates that the emergency brakes on the Grain Train were applied at 14:10:13, uncommanded by the train crew. At 14:10:33, the lead locomotive of the Crude Oil Train passes the lead locomotive of the Grain Train.
At 14:11:02, the video switches to the view from the front of the Crude Oil Train as it travels eastbound on main track 2. The text “Crude Oil Train #4934” and the speed of the train are displayed at the bottom center of the screen. The eastbound direction of travel is briefly indicated by a text annotation. A text annotation indicates an engineer-induced emergency brake application on the Crude Oil Train occurred at 14:11:03. A
text annotation also points out the 45th car in the Grain Train, which is fouling main track 2. The Crude Oil Train strikes the 45th car in the Grain Train at 14:11:12, leading to derailment of the Crude Oil Train, which departs main track 2 to the right and apparently comes to rest once impacting the built-up ballast supporting a parallel set of railroad tracks.
The video includes an audio overlay of radio traffic broadcast over radio channel 70, with communications from the Grain Train, the Crude Oil Train, the dispatcher and the signal maintainer passed by the Grain Train at 14:09:06. The audio begins with a call from the signal maintainer to the crew of the Grain Train at 14:10:31, and ends at 14:11:59 after the crew of the Crude Oil Train have reported the derailment and subsequent fire to the dispatcher.

STORYLINE:
Hurricane Norbert made landfall over mainland Mexico early on Sunday morning but is weakening, weather officials said.
The Category 1 hurricane's centre made landfall about 25 miles (35 kilometres) southeast of Huatabampo around 0400 GMT Sunday with maximum winds near 85 mph (140 kph), according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami.
Since then, the hurricane's maximum winds have decreased to near 75 mph (120 kph) and rapid weakening is likely as the hurricane moves over Mexico's mountainous terrain, the center said.
At 0600 GMT on Sunday, it was moving toward the northeast near 21 mph (33 kph), a general motion that forecasters expected would continue during the day.
Remnants of the storm would likely move into the southwestern United States Sunday evening, the centre said.
Norbert crossed over the Mexican mainland after tearing off roofs and forcing hundreds of people to flee widespread flooding on the Baja California peninsula.
It hit land near Puerto Charley on Baja's southwest coast as a Category 2 hurricane, but weakened to Category 1 after emerging over the Gulf of California, the center said.
Baja residents fled to shelters in school buses and army trucks as floodwaters rose in their homes. Winds uprooted palm trees and the water rose knee-high in some streets of the town of Puerto San Carlos.
Streets turned into rushing, knee-deep rivers in Ciudad Constitucion, on the southern peninsula.
Furniture, car parts and trash cans floated down the roads that were deserted except for a few police patrols and a soaked dog on high ground.
More than 2,000 people were in the city's shelters, many of them from coastal villages where nearly all homes had lost their roofs, said Miguel Arevalos, the local Civil Protection director.
A hurricane warning was in place along the mainland coast from Topolobampo north to the port town of Guaymas.
Authorities evacuated people from low-lying areas in Sonora state and opened 60 shelters capable of holding
more than 6,000 people, said Willebaldo Alatriste, the state's civil protection director.
The storm's remnants were expected to continue to dump rain on water-logged West Texas, where authorities prepared for more flooding.
State and local officials plan to activate an emergency operations center Monday in Presidio, where an earthen levee is struggling to hold back the swollen Rio Grande.
Meanwhile, a weakening Tropical Storm Odile hugged the southwest coast of Mexico.
Civil Protection officials in Guerrero state urged about 10,000 people living along river banks or other dangerous areas to evacuate.

NTSB Animation of the Union Pacific Railroad Unit Ethanol Train Derailment near Graettinger, Iowa
Visualization of Estimated Derailed Car Motion
The three‐dimensional animation shows the estimated derailed car pileup sequence that began at about 12:50:43 a.m. local time. The Office of Research and Engineering reconstructed the train motion to help assess the initial energy state, path, and mechanical impact damage of each derailed car. On-rail vehicle motion was reconstructed from locomotive event recorder, external video, and external audio data as well as car, track, and wayside infrastructure data. Google Earth Pro was used to render the reconstructed train motion.
Derailed car motion was derived from car on-rail and post-derailment position and orientation data as well as the entry speed of the trailing cars recorded by the rear locomotive. Interpolation was used to define the path of each derailed car between its onrail and at rest positions. The resulting derailed car motion is not strictly time accurate, kinematically consistent, or the product of a fully validated, first-principles-based physics model.
Two views of the estimated derailed car pileup sequence are included. The local time after midnight, lead and trailing locomotive consist speed, and throttle position are presented in the right-hand side upper frame. The lead locomotive external camera view looking forward is shown in the lower frame. The lead locomotive external audio data are also synchronized.
The unintended emergency brake application, ethanol ignition and combustion events, and post-accident drone survey data are annotated in the region above the right-hand side upper frame.
The animation does not attempt to portray actual time of day, season, weather, or lighting conditions, except as recorded by the lead locomotive external camera. Car collision dynamics, deformation, component separation/damage, track and bridge damage, and environmental damage are not depicted, except as documented by the aerial drone survey.
Each of the two animation segments begins at 00:49:49 a.m. with a chase view of the eastbound lead locomotive consist, a buffer car, and the first five tank cars. At this time, the train is approaching the bridge over Jack Creek at a speed of 31 mph with the throttle in the idle position.
First Animation Segment
At 00:50:11 the camera transitions from chase view to overhead view as the lead locomotive begins to transit the bridge. Car line number 21, the most forward derailed tank car, comes into view from the bottom of the screen at 00:50:37 with the train speed reduced to 29 mph.
At 00:50:43 an annotation states that the derailed car motion was estimated as car line numbers 21 through 24 begin to derail. At this time car line number 21 is near the bridge midpoint, car line number 22 is straddling the transition region between ballasted roadbed and the bridge, and car line numbers 23 and 24 are trailing on the west approach to the bridge. An emergency braking annotation then appears.
Car line number 21 comes to rest south and east of the bridge, car line number 22 comes to rest south of the east end of the bridge, and car line numbers 23-27 pile up in sequential order, perpendicular to the original bridge with car line number 23 near the bridge midpoint.
Car line number 28 cleaves car line numbers 26 and 27 in half and travels over car line number 25, ending up pitched down nearly parallel to the original bridge with its forward end in Jack Creek.
At 00:50:53 an ethanol ignition/combustion annotation appears as the lead locomotive external camera view transitions from nominal background darkness to near daytime illumination levels at 00:50:59 and then back to nominal background darkness at 00:51:03.
Car line numbers 29-32 pile up sequentially in accordion fashion to fill in the gap at the west end of the original bridge. Car line numbers 33-40 continue to pile up sequentially in zig-zag fashion on the west approach to the bridge. All trailing cars aft of the bridge come to rest by 00:51:12, as the lead locomotive consist and car line numbers 1-20 continue forward at 9 mph with emergency brakes applied. The forward train section comes to rest at 00:51:22.
The aerial drone survey image is overlaid on the scene terrain about 00:51:30 with an accompanying annotation. The drone survey data enable the viewer to compare the estimated at-rest derailed car positions and orientations to the available factual evidence.
Second Animation Segment
The second animation segment differs from the first segment as follows:
1. At 00:50:11 a half-orbit camera view transitions from the original chase view to a view looking toward the approaching string of trailing cars from a position just north of the east end of the bridge.
2. Car line number 21 comes into view from the left side of the screen at 00:50:33 with the train speed reduced to 30 mph and the throttle still in the idle position.
The Ifa Divination System
UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2008
URL:
Description: The Ifa divination system, which makes use of an extensive corpus of texts and mathematical formulas, is practiced among Yoruba communities and by the African diaspora in the Americas and the Caribbean. The word Ifa refers to the mystical figure Ifa or Orunmila, regarded by the Yoruba as the deity of wisdom and intellectual development.
In contrast to other forms of divination in the region that employ spirit mediumship, Ifa divination does not rely on a person having oracular powers but rather on a system of signs that are interpreted by a diviner, the Ifa priest or babalawo, literally the priests father. The Ifa divination system is applied whenever an important individual or collective decision has to be made.
The Ifa literary corpus, called odu, consists of 256 parts subdivided into verses called ese, whose exact number is unknown as they are constantly increasing (there are around 800 ese per odu). Each of the 256 odu has its specific divination signature, which is determined by the babalawo using sacred palm-nuts and a divination chain. The ese, considered the most important part of Ifa divination, are chanted by the priests in poetic language. The ese reflect Yoruba history, language, beliefs, cosmovision and contemporary social issues. The knowledge of Ifa has been preserved within Yoruba communities and transmitted among Ifa priests.
Under the influence of colonial rule and religious pressures, traditional beliefs and practices were discriminated against. The Ifa priests, most of whom are quite old, have only modest means to maintain the tradition, transmit their complex knowledge and train future practitioners. As a result, the youth and the Yoruba people are losing interest in practising and consulting Ifa divination, which goes hand-in-hand with growing intolerance towards traditional divination systems in general.
