Astoria Oregon in 3D
I just love Astoria in Oregon, the nature, the people and the houses. Oooh and the Beer (Fort George). Astoria is such a fantastic place, I try to get there as often as I can, even though I live in Scandinavia which is sort of half the planet away from there, but it´s worth it every time.
The video here, is in 3D - taken with a cellphone camera, so it´s a bit shaky as I had no tripod for it, but hopefully you´ll see a little glimpse of Astoria the way I saw it, in glorious 3D!
Remember to use YouTubes many 3D facilities, you can even use Anaglyph (red, cyan) glasses to watch it in 3D as well as on a 3D phone or probably even a 3D television set. Try it out!
50 Insane Submarine Facts That WIll Shock You
Do you know these 50 submarine facts?
The US Navy's submarine force is known as the Silent Service- quiet, deadly, and utterly secretive, they represent everything that makes these weapons of battle the most feared by sailors on the high seas. With nations around the world fielding submarines ranging in size from half of that of an aircraft carrier to barely the length of a school bus, these undersea terrors are as versatile as they are deadly.
Hello and welcome to another episode of The Infographics Show - today we're taking a look at 50 incredible facts about the history, development, and deployment of submarines.

The First Thanksgiving: What Really Happened
An educational animation that tells the in-depth story surrounding the first thanksgiving. Hope you enjoy!
Bibliography at bottom of description
Instagram: UnciviHistory
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
This video is meant to give a non-bias account of the events which unfolded in the years leading up to the First Thanksgiving, and the several years following the feast (roughly 1614-1622). I apologize for any pronunciation errors with Native American names; I have a deep respect for the native peoples of America, but I am ignorant on speaking their languages. I hope I have not offended anyone!
To keep the video below 7 minutes, many details were negated, so everything inside my video is what I consider essential to receiving a well-rounded view and understanding of this very interesting event. For instance, we still don't know what the epidemic of the Great Dying of 1616-1619 was, despite numerous theories. Squanto died in 1622, never admitting any involvement in a plot to overthrow Massasoit. The events that happened after 1622 could fill several more videos!
There is no political agenda behind this video. I am a student of history with and I have tried to give an account of the first Thanksgiving that is as close as we can possibly get to the truth.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The maritime history of the United States is a broad theme within the history of the United States. As an academic subject, it crosses the boundaries of standard disciplines, focusing on understanding the United States' relationship with the oceans, seas, and major waterways of the globe. The focus is on merchant shipping, and the financing and manning of the ships. A merchant marine owned at home is not essential to an extensive foreign commerce. In fact, it may be cheaper to hire other nations to handle the carrying trade than to participate in it directly. On the other hand, there are certain advantages, particularly during time of war, which may warrant an aggressive government encouragement to the maintenance of a merchant marine.
Launching my 10 Offshore Nome Gold Dredge
The 2012 launching of my 10 gold dredge for it's first full season. We built it in 2011 reusing pontoons we bought from a failed operation. Since I got recruited to become a partner on the CdP, the largest gold mining suction dredge in the United States, I leased this out to my friend Zeke. Zeke, Emily, and John will be using it on a new TV show called Bering Sea Gold.

The Master of the World by Jules Verne | Audio book with subtitles
Chief Inspector Strock gets the tough cases. When a volcano suddenly appears to threaten mountain towns of North Carolina amid the non-volcanic Blue Ridge Mountains, Strock is posted to determine the danger. When an automobile race in Wisconsin is interrupted by the unexpected appearance of a vehicle traveling at multiples of the top speed of the entrants, Strock is consulted. When an odd-shaped boat is sighted moving at impossible speeds off the New England coast, Stock and his boss begin to wonder if the incidents are related. And when Strock gets a hand-lettered note warning him to abandon his investigation, on pain of death, he is intrigued rather than deterred.
Set in a period when gasoline engines were in their infancy and automobiles were rare, and when even Chief Inspectors had to engage a carriage and horses to move about, the appearance of a vehicle that can move at astounding speeds on land, on water - and as later revealed, underwater and through the air - marks a technological advance far beyond the reach of nations. It is technology invented by and for the sole benefit of a man who styles himself (with some justification) The Master of the World.
This book is a sequel to an earlier Verne novel, Robur the Conqueror, but enough detail is given to fully appreciate this story without having first read the other. (Summary by Mark)
