The views from near the Elisabeth Bridge. Buda Castle and the Liberty Statue at the Citadel are visible on the opposite bank of Danube. Inner City Parish Church is located at the head of the bridge near the light rail system that runs along the bank of Danube. Recorded in Oct 2015.

Elisabeth Bridge, Budapest
Elisabeth Bridge is the third newest bridge of Budapest, Hungary, connecting Buda and Pest across the River Danube. The bridge is situated at the narrowest part of the Danube in the Budapest area, spanning only 290 m. It is named after Elisabeth of Bavaria, a popular queen and empress of Austria-Hungary, who was assassinated in 1898. Today, her large bronze statue sits by the bridge's Buda side connection in the middle of a small garden.
The original bridge was destroyed during the WW2, a significantly simplified version was built between 1961–1964, without any ornamentation.

Elisabeth Bridge-Erzsébet híd Budapest
Elisabeth Bridge (Hungarian: Erzsébet híd) is the third newest bridge of Budapest, Hungary, connecting Buda and Pest across the River Danube. The bridge is situated at the narrowest part of the Danube in the Budapest area, spanning only 290 m. It is named after Elisabeth of Bavaria, a popular queen and empress of Austria-Hungary, who was assassinated in 1898. Today, her large bronze statue sits by the bridge's Buda side connection in the middle of a small garden.
The original eclectic flamboyant style bridge was built between 1897 and 1903. It was subsequently destroyed during the WW2, and a significantly simplified modernist version was built without any ornamentation between 1961–1964.
Its two ends are:
March 15 Square (with the oldest church in Pest, Inner City Parish Church, built in the 13th century) and the famous Mátyás Pince restaurant
Döbrentei Square in Buda with the monument of Saint Gellért on the Gellért Hill, a sculpture of Queen Elisabeth and the Rácz Baths and Rudas Baths nearby. A luxury spa hotel is currently being built in the area.
The special lighting for Elisabeth Bridge has been created by renowned Japanese lighting designer Motoko Ishii and Japan contributed 120 million forints (EUR 450,000) to the costs. The Budapest City Council has paid 150 million forints for the project. 2009 marks the 140th anniversary of establishing diplomatic links between the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and Japan, and the 50th anniversary of re-establishing diplomatic links between Japan and Hungary.

This shows the heavy Budapest city traffic on the Elisabeth Bridge over the Danube River in Budapest, Hungary during Tuesday afternoon, July 11, 2017. I am filming this from stateroom 315 on Viking Ingvi using the zoom feature of my camcorder while the Ingvi is docked right across from the Sinatra Piano Bar. This bridge, along with other bridges across the Danube, is used to cross from Buda to Pest and vice versa.

This is Budapest city traffic on the Elisabeth Bridge in Budapest, Hungary on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 as seen from Viking Ingvi and the street next to the dock, Pesti also rkp. The reason this says extended view is that there is another post by me of traffic on this bridge and after I had posted that, I discovered some additional footage and thus decided to make this new longer post including all the footage.

De Elisabethbrug (Erzsébet híd) is een hangbrug over de Donau in de Hongaarse hoofdstad Boedapest. De brug dateert oorspronkelijk uit 1903, maar werd na in de Tweede Wereldoorlog te zijn verwoest, vervangen door de huidige, modernere brug. Deze brug werd ontworpen door Pál Sávoly en dateert uit 1964.
Erzsébet híd, (česky přeložitelné jako Alžbětin most) je most v Budapešti, hlavním městě Maďarska, přes řeku Dunaj. Je ocelový zavěšený a patří k nejnovějším mostům ve městě. Původně sloužil silničnímu i tramvajovému provozu. Dnes je pouze silniční.

This shows a driver view of our approach and crossing of the Elisabeth Bridge in Budapest, Hungary on July 11, 2017 in a narrated Viking Cruises tour bus. We are crossing from the Pest side to the Buda side. This was part of our included tour of Budapest and we were headed for the Buda Castle District where among other things is Fisherman's Bastion and the Matthias Church.
