A Visit To The Embsay And Bolton Abbey Steam Railway 31/05/2016
The first of two visits I have planned over the next few months this being the first. This was the first time I visited the railway for nearly 8 years and it has definitely changed a lot since then including the instalment of a miniature railway which isn't featured in this video.
Also please excuse the annoying kids at Bolton Abbey station who were running about, being noisy, putting me off, even getting in a couple of shots(one edited out but the other not) and even climbing on the very sorry looking Saddle Tank 'Wheldale' next to me.
Despite this I enjoyed my nostalgia trip, that much that now considering that my local bus service has now extended to nearby Skipton I can announce that the Embasy And Bolton Abbey Steam Railway is now going to be included in my regular uploads!
So stay tuned as they may be sooner than expected!
Hope you enjoy!

Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway - Branchline Weekend - 3rd May 2014
The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway (EBASR) once again held its annual Branchline weekend, using all of its available home fleet of engines and its wide variety of rolling stock, including an intensive half- hourly timetable of departures. In service was:
-L&YR Class 27 'A Class' 0-6-0 No. 12322 (recently repainted into its LMS guise)
-Hunslet 16 0-6-0ST No. 2705 Beatrice
-Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T Samuel Fox and Co. No. 20 Jennifer
-RSH 'Hunslet Austerity Tank' 0-6-0ST No. 68005 Norman
-BR Class 31 Bo-Bo No. D5600
The railway ran an intensive timetable, featuring four different train sets in action. The passenger sets were formed of a set of BR MK1s, as well as the line's Stately Trains rake, formed of four Victorian carriages. Passengers could also travel in the passenger section of the Parcels train, while an additional 15- wagon pick up goods was also run.
Shots in this video:
-Samuel Fox and Co. No. 20 Jennifer and 60085 Norman double head the 1000 goods out of Embsay towards Bolton Abbey
-Beatrice rolls into Embsay from the siding with the vintage rake, before departing for Bolton Abbey
-D5600 arrives with the Parcels train from Bolton Abbey
-68005 Norman storms away from Bolton Abbey with a passenger service
-2705 Beatrice arrives into Bolton Abbey, passing 12322 in the loop
-12322 leaves Holywell Halt with a train to Embsay
-D5600 passes through Holywell Halt with a passenger service
-2705 Beatrice barks through Holywell Halt with the goods service
-68005 Norman arrives into Holywell Halt
-12322 leaves Bolton Abbey with a passenger service
-2705 Beatrice arrives into Bolton Abbey with a Parcels train
-12322 arrives into Embsay from Bow Bridge loop
Enjoy!

Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway | First Class Trip Report
This video is a little bit special, as I head onto a Dales Dining service running on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway back in May - passengers are served a full cooked breakfast with hot & cold drinks onboard the train, usually pulled by a steam train but in this video, I'm hauled by the gorgeous Class 37, No. 37294.
I take the 10:30 Dales Dining service from Embsay station to Bolton Abbey, returning at about 11:10 - your ticket gives you a complimentary day's travel on the rest of the services including your Breakfast Train that I travelled on - this ticket was just £19, incredibly good value!
My next video will be a picture gallery from the recent Crewe Diesel Depot charity open day that happened on 8th June - this video should be up next week.

Bolton Abbey railway station is on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. It serves Bolton Abbey, although it is closer to Bolton Bridge, in North Yorkshire, England and several countryside walking routes. The station is the current terminus of the steam railway. EMBSAY & BOLTON ABBEY STEAM RAILWAY (THOMAS EVENT)
In this video we visit the South Yorkshire Dales, for a visit to the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. With my daughter being well into 'Thomas' at the moment, seemed a good time to visit this railway for one of their 'Thomas' events. Daughter really did enjoy it, even though it did chuck it down for a good part of the day. So this one is for any Thomas fan out there....
