The hanging site of Chief Leschi -But Scott Stoddard, who had recently purchased a Cliff May-inspired ranch-style home in the development called Fairway-at-Lakewood, (I use to work at Dshs Region 5 Lakewood CSO) wondered about his street -- Leschi Road Southwest. Not knowing much about his new neighborhood, and being interested in history, Stoddard started to look around, run Internet searches and visit locations identified in those searches.
One was a nearby shopping center, mostly indistinguishable from many others in our first suburb. A Dollar Tree, a used book store, the ubiquitous nail salon. But under a large tree in the otherwise concrete expanse is a large stone marker with a weathered message etched into the stone.

Generally, state and local police officers take the Law Enforcement Oath of Honor at the beginning of their careers. The oath affirms their standards of integrity, bravery and honor to the community and law. The oath can vary slightly. For example, in Virginia, the words ...so help me God are added at the end. However, typically the oaths used reflect the version endorsed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Competitors dressed in everyone's favorite inflatable T. Rex suit took to the starting line at the Emerald Downs racetrack in Auburn, Washington, and ran for their lives.
At least a dozen or so dinosaurs sprinted down the track for nearly a photo finish.

Hilarious T-Rex Race Kicks off in Washington State
Is it a horse race? A camel race? It’s a T-Rex race!
Last week instead of a horse race the reputable racetrack, Emerald Downs, located in Auburn, in the Pacific Northwest state of Washington, announced a dinosaur race. A mass of people in oversized T-Rex costumes chaotically and hilariously broke out of a starting gate and onto the tracks. This is the third year in a row Emerald Downs hosted the race.
