Thrillist - Wenlock & Essex - London, UK
Entered through a revolving door, Wenlock's a classic wood-varnished pub that's thrown on a dizzying decor ensemble they say's influenced by carousel, cabaret, and circus: lighting & paint job befitting an old-timey theatre, Daguerreotypes of Victorian folk, wall-mounted candelabras, Big Top-fonted messages (Thrills!), red leather booths, and vintage-style wallpaper depicting ostriches sticking their heads in the sand, presumably in denial that there's alcohol abuse about. The booze is also dizzying, with cocktails from sahara dry, arctic cold martini basics to the vodka/creme de mur/cranberry Pontberry, plus beers like Wild Hare, Brooklyn, Veltins Pils, Orval, and the house-brewed Camden Hells, soon to be renamed Camden. To provide ballast, a Michelin-trained chef is serving up the likes of lamb meatballs, tenderized rump steak w/ hand cut chips, an oak-roast salmon sandwich, and Salt & Pepper Squid -- though there can't be much of that, considering they haven't had a hit since 1993.

Knife Murder on CCTV - Romford, Essex, UK.
This video contains footage from a BBC programme titled Stabbed -- The Truth About Knife Crime. It tries to make a point that even if you're a trained martial artist, or armed for protection, random act of violence can catch you off guard and lead to your death.
The stabbing presented in the video was caught on CCTV in Romford, Essex in July of 2005. Three men who had just left a nightclub headed for a car they've left nearby. One of the three was a 17 year old Michael Lynch -- a burglar on bail, about to become a murderer.
The three approached two men who stood nearby, minding their own business while waiting for a lift. Without provocation, one of the men is sucker punched while the other is pursued by Michael Lynch who stabs him in the heart with a knife. The stab wound was only 2 inches deep, but it caused massive bleeding that lead to the inevitable.
The stabbed man was a 20 year old student Daniel Pollen. His friend Andrew Griffiths, who had just celebrated his 20th birthday, ended up in a pool of blood with his jaw shattered. Michael Lynch stabbed Andrew Griffiths four times in the chest and back, luckily these stabs were not fatal. 40 seconds after the unprovoked attack, the three men drove off heading home.
Michael Lynch was jailed for life with a minimum of 15 years before being able to request parole. His accomplices -- 19 year old Timmy Sullivan of Barking, Essex and 25 year old Michael Onokah of Ilford, East London were both sentenced to 5 years each.
Talk about weak, limp-wristed justice.

London Beer Factory Sour Solstice review
WALKING IN ESSEX | THAXTED | US MRE REVIEW | TILTY ABBEY
I was joined by Candice for this 8.5 mile circular walk in and around the historic Essex town of Thaxted and Tilty with it's old church, abbey ruins and Georgian abandoned water mill. There was history everywhere we turned, Thaxted itself having a medieval guildhall, 19th century windmill and huge church, along with many half timbered houses.
We stopped for lunch at Tilty abbey and reviewed a US MRE ration pack, this one being a non cook menu, perfect for the hot sunny weather we were experiencing.
The route back to Thaxted followed the infant River Chelmer. I did this exact route a few years ago on my own in the early years of the channel, but sadly the camera I had at the time stopped working just as I was about to start this walk, thus I didn't get to document it. But now I have and I'm very pleased with it. I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

Places to see in ( Braintree - UK )
Places to see in ( Braintree - UK )
Braintree is a town in Essex, England. The principal settlement of Braintree District, it is located 10 miles northeast of Chelmsford and 15 miles west of Colchester.
Braintree has grown contiguous with several surrounding settlements. Braintree proper lies on the River Brain and to the south of Stane Street, the Roman road from Braughing to Colchester, while Bocking lies on the River Blackwater and to the north of the road. The two are sometimes referred to together as Braintree and Bocking, and since 1934 they form the civil parish of that name.
Braintree is bypassed by the modern-day A120 and A131 roads, while trains serve two stations in the town, at the end of the Braintree Branch Line. Braintree is twinned with Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, France, and gives its name to the towns of Braintree, Massachusetts and Braintree, Vermont, in the United States.
Braintree lies in north Essex, about 46 miles (74 km) from London, with factories and housing to the south and rural areas to the north, where arable crops are grown. It lies about 150 feet (46 m) above sea level. Essex is rather flat on the whole, and the Braintree area is no exception; however, there is a general downward trend in the height of the ground from the northwest towards the coast to the southeast. Two rivers flow through Braintree in this direction. Pod's Brook approaches the western side of the town, forming a natural boundary between Braintree and the neighbouring village of Rayne about two miles (3 km) to the west.
Braintree's museum, containing displays relating to the history of the town. The Braintree Arts Theatre opened in 2009 on the Notley High School campus. The Braintree and Bocking Carnival takes place each June.
Braintree has two main market areas that link throughout the town, which are run twice weekly, on a Wednesday and a Saturday. They are based outside the Town Hall in Market Square, and also run along Bank Street and the High Street. The High street is mainly a pedestrianised area, which allows only buses to commute through the town.
Freeport is a shopping area on the outskirts of Braintree, described as a designer outlet village. It has approximately 90 departments where designer brands sell surplus stock for lower than the recommended retail price. Freeport also has its own railway station, namely Braintree Freeport railway station, which is the first stop on the journey from Braintree to London Liverpool Street via Witham.
Braintree has two railway stations, Braintree and Braintree Freeport next to the Freeport shopping area. Braintree has two railway stations, Braintree and Braintree Freeport next to the Freeport shopping area. Bocking Windmill, technically a part of Bocking, the windmill stands proud over the countryside at the North end of Braintree & Bocking. The Braintree District Museum is located opposite the Town Hall, along Manor Street, and was originally the Manor Street School.

ABANDONED BREWERY - Urban Exploring and Graffiti
Me and Ghost exploring Springfield Brewery in Wolverhampton, England.
The holy grail of Urban Exploring!!!!!! This place is massive, the video just doesn't do it justice. Some of the stuff we discovered took my breath away (especially the red spiral stair case). The history oozed from this place. Watch out for the climbing cameo from myself ha.
History- The brewery first opened in 1873 when the William Butler and Company needed bigger premises than their existing site in Priestfield. Springfield had an abundance of water and the land had remained fairly undeveloped as the ground was quite marshy in places. The company acquired the seven acre site, partly bordering Grimstone Street and built a new brewery with maltings, cooperage and stables. Production started at Springfield during the following year. With the new brewery located close to the canal and railway lines, the company could begin to trade outside of the local area. The good communications also made the acquisition of public houses in other areas a viable proposition. This opportunity was improved when the Great Western Railway extended a siding into the site which was continually expanding to cope with the success of the company. Between 1881-3 a new brewing tower was constructed, enabling William Butler and Company to increase production from 400 to 1,500 barrels a week. In 1960 Mitchell's and Butler's acquired the company and the Cape Hill brewery kept the Springfield Brewery open. Brewing stopped around 1990 and the site was used simply as distribution centre. In 2006 a fire destroyed much of the site.
In 2014 plans were announced by the University of Wolverhampton and Wolverhampton City Council to redevelop the site to become the home of the new West Midlands Construction UTC (University Technical College), which the University is sponsoring along with the Construction Industry Training Board . The University also has plans to relocate its own School of Architecture and the Built Environment to the site making it a local, regional, national and international centre of excellence.
