This is the day that I had been dreaming about for months! We finally got to go to an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai and it blew me away. We got lucky and made it to the BEST ethical Elephant sanctuary in both Thailand and Chiang Mai. We spent the whole day feeding, walking, bathing, and most importantly loving on these elephants which is so different from their past lives in elephant camps. The elephants at Elephant rescue park are loved, free, and treated with respect. What I loved most about this elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai was the love they shared with their elephants. It was so sweet to watch!
It's crazy how an animal so big cares about connecting.
What was interesting about the Elephant Rescue Park in Chiang Mai was that they took the time to not only teach you about elephants in general, they teach you about what their elephants went through and what they had to do to save them. The stories were heartbreaking and warming at the same time. What these elephants experienced was horrible but what these humans did to save them and provide them a loving, normal life.....it leaves me speechless. We did a lot of research before choosing a park because it is extremely important to us that they genuinely care about the elephants and foster them living a normal elephant life.
So if you're looking for the best ethical elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Elephant Rescue Park is your best choice!
As always thank you so much for watching!

About Us!
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s YouTube Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.
The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

BEST ETHICAL ELEPHANT SANCTUARY ! THAILAND Vlog #2
BEST DAY EVER! A day in the life of an elephant trainer, spent in a Karen tribe village near Chiang Mai (Thailand) with super HEALTHY and HAPPY elephants! ???? I did my research and most definetly would not had wanted to participate to any sort of animal cruelty. In fact today was just the opposite and if you ever want to spend some time with elephants in Thailand, I super highly recommend Karen Tribe's Native Elephants! We each had our own elephant, which we had to take care of. We learned the morning routine to check that they are healthy, got to feed them (a lot), bathe them, walk them, and even made plant based medicine to keep them strong and healthy.

Looking for an ethical elephant sanctuary 2018? GO HERE!! | Chiang Mai - Vlog #17
Looking for an ethical elephant sanctuary near Chiang Mai, Thailand? Wild elephants living free in the jungle at Elephants at Home.
This day was a really special day for us - we went to Elephants at home, an Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai! After a lot of research for an ethical elephant sanctuary, we chose this family run company.
Here you can spend the day with the Karen tribe, that lives together with three wild, free elephants in the jungle 2,5 hours outside of Chiang Mai.
They picked us up at our hostel in Chiang Mai in the morning and then drove us to their village where they already have lived for hundreds of years, alongside with their elephants, in the mountains of Chiang Mai. There we spend our day caring for the elephants, washing and feeding them.
Directly after arrival we were able to first meet and get to know the elephants and the other people that took part in the tour. In total we were only 6 tourists, so we were a really small group and could enjoy an intimate and non-touristy elephant experience.
After meeting everyone we got a lot of information about elephants in general and about the elephants at the elephant sanctuary. Furthermore we were provided with traditional clothes of people from the Karen tribe. Then we fed the elephants before we walked with them along the river and through the jungle to a waterfall. Here we enjoyed a traditional Thai lunch before we went into the water to bath the elephants. It was so amazing to see how much fun the elephants had, playing in the water! After washing the elephants we went into the waterfall, that was so strong, that we struggled to keep our eyes open. After this refreshing bath we headed back to the village again with the elephants. A quite slow walk, since the elephants always stopped to eat :D In the afternoon it was then time to drive back to Chiang Mai. Before we recieved a lot of photos from the day!
When we arrived at our hostel in Chiang Mai we were incredibly tired, but also really happy. We got the feeling that we made the right choice and that Elephants at home really is an ethical elephant sanctuary where people care about the well-being of the elephants. It was an incredible experience to meet the Karen tribe living together with their elephants and so far definitely the best day during our travel! Our No. 1 thing to do in Chiang Mai!
So, if you are in Chiang Mai don't miss out on this! But before you go to an elephant sanctuary please do your research and make sure, it's an ethical one.

THAILAND ELEPHANT SANCTUARY | Chiang Mai
The most ethical way to experience being around elephants is by visiting an elephant sanctuary that does not mistreat the elephants. Elephant Rescue Park in Chiang Mai Thailand is a NO-RIDE sanctuary that has rescued elephants from the logging industry, riding camps, and the circus. In this video, you'll get to see how I spent a day with Thailand's beloved national animal.

BEST ELEPHANT SANCTUARY ▼ CHIANG MAI - THAILAND
Chiang Mai, Thailand - Elephant Jungle Sanctuary
The adventure around the world for one year continues as we backpack on a budget though Southeast Asia. Stephen, Jordyn and I had vistited the incredible EJS two years before when they only had one camp (now called Camp 3) where we met Robert, a passionate little Karen tribesman, and the elephants they rescued from abuse. We learned about how wild elephants used to roam in their village, but were slowly taken away to be sold into the logging industry and entertainment business. The tribe decided to dedicate their land to bring the elephants back home 3 years ago, and have since rescued 70 elephants and opened 9 more sanctuaries! We learned that RIDING ELEPHANTS IS REALLY BAD and that as people learn, they spread the word and more camps are being shut down! ITS WORKING!
Watch my first video of our experience at the sanctuary and the story of how we learned that riding Elephants in Bali on our honeymoon wasn't the best decision we've ever made.

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Chiang Mai Day 1, Thailand 2019 Ethical Elephant Camp VLOG
Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Chiang Mai Day 1, Thailand 2019 Ethical Elephant Camp VLOG
Chiang Mai Elephant Jungle Sanctuary was awesome. They have multiple elephant camps and will pick you up at your hotel in a covered open back truck. Expect about a 2-hour ride to and from the elephant camp. In the morning the stop at a rest stop for breakfast. With multiple options we chose the traditional Thai style breakfast. A connected pastry shop offered the most delicious croissants and coffee. We had our 65+ year old mother with us and she chose to sit up front with the driver which they accommodated. Upon arriving at the Elephant Sanctuary, the caretakers give you a brief overview of the activities and ask you to change into the designated shirts. The elephants recognize the traditional shirts and know you are bringing treats. The caretakers have us fill our pockets with bananas and show us how to feed the elephants. You will hear the words “Bon Bon” often. The elephants will open their mouth and allow you to place a banana inside. Don’t be shy the elephants are always hungry and love bananas. The highlight for our visit was the baby elephant Charlie. He was so mischievous it was comical. Stealing shoes, headbutting guests who challenge him, and trying to throw little kicks with his short legs. He was adorable like a small toddler. All the animals are rescued, living out their years of life without working. I would recommend it to ANYONE! You get to feed them, no riding, no tricks. You walk with them down to a patch where they play, bath and swim. Super intimate and mind blowing to see such awesome animals happy even after decades of abuse. You will get to feed them, walk and interact with them, bathe the elephants and the Jungle sanctuary will take lots of photos. Mid-day they provide a small buffet lunch with water, coffee and tea. One of our most amazing experiences in all of the world.
This visit is part of our first full 1st day in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Thong Elephant Sanctuary - Ethical elephant experience Chiang Mai
100% animal respect at Thong Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai Thailand.
Absolutely no riding, no hook and no chains here, just elephants free to walk in the rice fields around the camp
More informations and booking at:
Our sanctuary is located in Chiang Mai in the mountainous terrains of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is the largest city in Northern Thailand, was the capital of the kingdom of Lin Na and is famed for being a haven for elephants. The elephant is the official National animal and it is renowned for its strength and intelligence and has always being associated with royalty and wealth.
*** Who we are ***
Our elephant Camp is a small family camp in the region of Mae Wang, close to Chiang Mai. The size of our camp is a rare advantage, because you get to be closer to the elephants and experience nature in all its glory. We are people from the White Karen hill tribe, we used to live for thousand of years with elephants in our villages. Elephants are more than just animals for us, they are our friends and they can be yours too.
*** What we do ***
Nowadays, villagers do not use anymore elephants to help them in the jungle and for agriculture, and we have less and less animals in the forest. The decrease in their number means that the ones left have more value, they are gentle giants that are adorable and intelligent. At Thong Elephant Sanctuary we want to save them and offer them a nice place to live freely. Our camp is an eco-tourism project that is also sustainable. So, by visiting the elephants, you are having fun with the adorable creatures and improving the wellbeing of the indigenous peoples and also improving the economy.
*** What you get ***
In our camp, you get to learn more about the history of elephants in the kingdom of Thailand, and how important they have been, why are they are national treasures. You also get to take free pictures with them, pictures that you can always smile at whenever you see them. You'll also learn amazing things about elephants, the different species of elephants and how to differentiate them. You get to take them to the mud spa and enjoy a good time giving them a wash while you also have immeasurable fun, we promise you a great time.
*** Schedule: ***

The tour we booked through Klook:
The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is a top attraction in Thailand and we now understand why. If you want to interact with elephants this is definitely the way to do it. We got to feed them, play with them and bathe them. We even got to play with a 1-month-old baby elephant. It was definitely one of our favorite experiences ever.
Thailand is famous for their elephant tourism so we did a ton of research before choosing this place. If you're going to interact with elephants don't do riding camps but go to an elephant sanctuary. The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary rescues elephants from riding camps, logging mills, and circuses. Not only was it tons of fun but it's a great organization to support. We booked our experience through Klook, a great app that we've been using for a lot of our southeast Asia trips.

Had a wonderful FULL day at the Ethical Elephant Sanctuary (no riding or tricks) in Chiang Mai, Thailand with the GIRLS!! Honestly, the people working there made it so fun and the elephants really just did what the heck they wanted to do lol. It was a lot more fun and interesting than I thought it would be. Elephant Trails - Ethical Elephant Sanctuary, Elephant Nature Park, Chiang Mai | Thailand 2019
We got the chance to visit an ethical elephant sanctuary north of Chiang Mai. We visited the elephant trails program which is run by Elephant Nature Park. It was an intimate affair with only 8 tourists to 4 elephants. We did what the elephants wanted to do, stopping when they wanted to stop, bathing when they wanted to bathe. It was a really great experience!
