Etowah Indian Mounds Georgia Historic Site Review Tour 2018 Native American
According to the Georgia State Parks website, this location is Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site, but I would prefer it to be Etowah Native American Mounds, so that might be said interchangeably!

Northern Georgia’s Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site
Discover the remains of a thousand-year-old riverside village that was part of the mound-building Mississippian culture. Read the full article here:
Etowah Mounds Historic Site
I went on a short hike and exploration of the Etowah Mounds Historic Site located in Cartersville, Georgia of Bartow County. I do not claim to have any expertise in Native American or prehistoric cultures. As always, just enjoy exploring. It was a cold day and with the temperature never rising above freezing, I had the park entirely to myself. It is definitely worth visiting the park and the entrance to the museum is included in the $5 fee. I apologize for the poor quality of the photographs in the museum. The artifacts were located inside glass enclosures and very difficult to photograph.
This site was constructed by Native Americans from the Mississippian Culture of mound builders. There are six mounds on the site with three prominent and three lesser mounds. From 1838 - 1953 the site was used as farmland, until it was sold to the state of Georgia for conservation as protected land. In 1964 the 68 acre site became recognized as a Registered National Historic Landmark. It is maintained by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as a Georgia State Park.
I walked across the central plaza of the site on the way to Mound A (63 feet high) where the great temple that housed the chief and his family stood. Mound B was the site of a large council house and more than likely the house of a lesser chief. Mound C was a mortuary site where the remains of 350 burials (I misspoke in the video calling them bodies) were excavated. This mound contained most of the artifacts located in the museum including the Georgia marble effigy statues. There is also a fish trap to explore along the Etowah River and a nature trail that travels along the river and perimeter of the site.
Thank you for hiking with Sleeves! Keep Hiking!

etowah indian mounds
A visit to the Etowah Indian Mounds on February 9th, 2013. The following video and photos show the grand scale of the mounds. Mound A is a temple mound, which is the largest of the three shown, and rises 61 feet up from the ground. Mound B is also a temple mound, while Mound C is a burial mound. Note the size of the people standing on the lower mounds to get a good idea of the enormous scale.
The entire site is 54 acres, which includes 6 mounds total, and burrow pits (where they dug the dirt from to make the mounds). It is a state historical site, and is located in Cartersville Georgia, east of Red Top Mountain State Park.

Burying these 2 stone effigies probably meant some dramatic incident had happened where the site was abandoned-perhaps some solar event or even a plaque of some type. Anyway the burial of these two stone effigy must have been done with much lamentation!!
A PERSONAL TOUR OF ETOWAH INDIAN MOUNDS, GEORGIA
In 2009 Dennis Morrison and his step son David Israel spent four month in Waleska, Georgia taking care of their pastors mom. While there David underwent two emergency brain surgeries in Atlanta. But being there afforded the opportunity to see some wonderful historic and prehistoric sites. Etowah is nothing less than stunning to visit! The images presented here were taken just days after one of David's surgeries when they visited the mound and museum.

It's a fairly small site at 54 acres but the ancient mounds are interesting and easy to walk around. The museum and orientation film are both informative.

Giant Mound Builder Found in Indiana - Nephilim Discovered
Click here to see the entire newspaper clipping:
A group of skeletons were found near South Bend, Indiana. At least one of them was a Giant Mound Builder. This was published on October 23, 1925 in the Evening News, San Jose, California. What is more interesting was the presence of a large amount of ore containing Silver or White Gold. The Giant was wearing a copper armor too.
Where is this skeleton now? What happened to the giant race that once ruled America? Nephilim ?
