A Day in Eureka Springs! Exploring Historic Downtown Eureka Springs! (w/ @Busvlogger)
Hello from Eureka Springs!
We made it to Arkansas, and I've never been to Eureka Springs before, so we went to explore the Historic Downtown Eureka Springs, AR.
We found the Basin Springs Park, a toy stores with stuff from the 80s and 90s. Later an we went to search for some springs, and the kids conquered their fear of dogs when they met a dog named Dude! On our way back we found a few cool, funky stores and went back to James's (Busvlogger) house.
Happy Travels!
Love,
-Lane

Exploring Arkansas October 2018
Housed in a new facility at Hampson Archeological Museum State Park in Wilson, are artifacts from the Nodena Site which was inhabited by late Mississippian period Native Americans. Black Bass Lake is a hidden gem down a dirt road within the city limits of Eureka Springs. The Tontitown Grape Festival celebrates the town's Italian heritage and is one of the oldest festivals in the state, beginning in 1898. Electric Island is a special oasis in the middle of Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, which is why it's protected by The Nature Conservancy as a Nature Preserve.
Restored Victorian Queen Anne/Wright-Lovell Estate For Sale in Ozarks
It’s not every day that a century-old, 12,000 square foot Victorian mansion goes on the market, not to mention one as meticulously restored as the Queen Anne in Eureka Springs. The 130-year-old mansion and its accompanying 2,500 square foot Victorian cottage, the Kelley House, sit on 5.1 acres of private, gated land in the mountainous Ozarks region of Arkansas.
The home was built in 1891 by famed architect C.W. Terry, who worked with the vision of then-owner and wealthy industrialist Curtis Wright to reflect the popular and high-end Queen Anne style design of the late 19th century. This style is characterized by asymmetry, steep rooflines, dome-topped turrets and gables. In 2005, the home was purchased by Steve and Lata Lovell, who hired a team of master artisans to begin an arduous, eight year long restoration to bring the property back to its original grandeur.
“The property is a national historic treasure,” said Lata Lovell. “When Steve and I first visited his home state of Arkansas, Eureka Springs was the first town he took me to. When we found out that the Queen Anne and Kelley homes were on the market, we bought both together and undertook this meticulous restoration. The dream for us is that this home’s history lives on, and that this magnificent structure serves as a reminder of the importance of preservation of our historical properties.”
Once the renovations were complete, the Lovells opened the house as a Museum. This endeavor proved successful for the Lovells; the Queen Anne Mansion was recognized as “Business of the Year” by the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce in 2011. The beauty is that this property is turnkey and ready for immediate use, whether as a personal estate or business center.
Highlights of the main house include:
• A front gable adorned with a collection of ore samples
• Original hand-tooled woodwork and finishes
• Seven master suites boasting luxurious ensuite bathrooms, five half bathrooms, two kitchens, three laundry rooms, a media room and eight fireplaces
• An open parlor area on the second level
• A private home theater and game room
• Tulip poplar trim work throughout the second level
• A foundation built from 2,000 pieces of hand-chiseled Missouri limestone
• Elaborate trimmings of gold, brick red and royal blue to compliment a cream siding
The fully-restored Kelley House features:
• Additional living quarters
• A business office
• A private Satori concept spa including a Finnish sauna, salon and steam showers
The 5.1-acres of grounds also include:
• A resort-style pool with waterfalls and a spa
• Other outdoor amenities including a gas fire pit, outdoor kitchen, putting green and expansive gardens
• A private 2,500 square foot courtyard area with an Italian marble fountain, 13 foot limestone walls and a commercial bar
• An 80 kW natural gas generator that provides power to the entire property
• Within walking distance to retail and restaurants in downtown Eureka Springs
• Room to expand
Prospective buyers can schedule a showing of the estate and find additional details at queenanneestate.com, or reach out to the property directly:

A viewing of down town Eureka Springs Arkansas...
Saunders Museum At Berryville Arkansas In October 1996
This place had a nicely displayed collection of Buffalo Bill's knife, a genuine Bowie knife, Wild Bill Hickok guns, Annie Oakley's 44/40 Colt pistol, Col. William F. Cody revolvers, Pretty Boy Floyd pistol, Poncho Villa Colt, Alvin W. Hardin's revolver (I thought it was John Wesley Hardin), Billy The Kid 41 Colt, and actual guns owned by Jesse James, Frank James, Belle Starr, Cole Younger, Sam Houston, and many others. If you are heading to Eureka Springs, AR or Beaver Lake, it is well worth the short detour to see this wonderful display of historic artifacts.
