Batumi:
Batumi (Georgian: ბათუმი ) is the second largest city of Georgia, located on the coast of the Black Sea in the country’s southwest. Situated in a subtropical zone near the foot of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, Batumi is a popular tourist destination known for its varying weather–it is a bustling seaside resort during warm seasons, but can get entirely covered in snow during winter. Much of Batumi's economy revolves around tourism and gambling, but the city is also an important sea port and includes industries like shipbuilding, food processing and light manufacturing. Since 2010, Batumi has been transformed by the construction of modern high-rise buildings, as well as the restoration of classical 19th-century edifices lining its historic Old Town. Since the change of power in Adjara, Batumi has attracted international investors, and the prices of real estate in the city have trebled since 2001. In July 2007, the seat of the Constitutional Court of Georgia was moved from Tbilisi to Batumi to stimulate regional development. Several new hotels opened after 2009, first the Sheraton in 2010 and the Radisson Blu in 2011. The Trump Tower and the Kempinski was scheduled to open in 2013. The city features several casinos that attract tourists from Turkey, where gambling is illegal.
Batumi was host to the Russian 12th Military Base. Following the Rose Revolution, the central government pushed for the removal of these forces and reached agreement in 2005 with Moscow. According to the agreement, the process of withdrawal was planned to be completed in 2008, but the Russians completed the transfer of the Batumi base to Georgia on November 13, 2007, ahead of schedule.In 2013, TAM GEO LLC announced it was investing $70 million to start construction of the 170-meter, 45-story mix-use complex Babillon Tower, which will be the tallest residential building in Georgia
Batumi lies at the southern periphery of the oceanic climate (Cfb), but it is classified as humid subtropical (Cfa) according to Köppen's classification. The city's climate is heavily influenced by the onshore flow from the Black Sea and is subject to the orographic effect of the nearby hills and mountains, resulting in significant rainfall throughout most of the year, making Batumi the wettest city in both Georgia and the entire Caucasus Region.

Наверняка вы слышали о легенде про Золотое Руно? Так вот Аргонавты плыли за ним именно сюда! Ведь руно было символом процветания и благополучия. Получивший его, счастье и власть обретет.
Руно в это время находилось в роще бога войны Ареса. Стерег его дракон, сидевший на дубе. Когда Аргонавты приплыли в Калхиду, их предводитель просит руно у царя Ээта. Но так просто, царь не отдаст руно и потому приготовил испытания для Ясона. Волею богов, дочь Ээта влюбляется в Ясона и готова ради него на все. В качестве испытания, нужно запрячь медноногих быков, вспахать ими поле и засеять его зубами дракона. Медея дала возлюбленному зелье непобедимости и тот смог справится с волами. Засаженные зубы превратились в армию воинов, однако предупрежденный Медеей, Ясон бросил в воинов камень и те начали убивать друг друга. Последним рубежом был дракон, но влюбленная девушка усыпила его и позволила выкрасть символ благополучия своего народа. В след за этим бежала с возлюбленным на корабле Арго. Узнать как все было, можете в этом советском мультфильме: Теперь об этой легенде и напоминает статуя Медеи с Золотым Руном на площади Европы в Батуми.
Но это не все чем может похвастаться Площадь Европы в Батуми.
В доме на против, расположены Астрономические часы, которые указывают не только время, но и положение солнца, луны, созвездий зодиаков. Смотреть нужно внимательно, а то можно проглядеть!Рядом со статуей есть фонтан, струи которого бьют из под земли. Часто можно заметить бегающих через него детей. Если быть внимательным, то вы заметите и цветное пианино. На нем можно играть.

AMAZING GEORGIA (EUROPE SQUARE, TBILISI- DAY 1/4) | By QueennieSol
We started our journey in Georgia on 11th November 2019. We arrived around 10:30 AM and started to explore at 3:00 PM. We did not have any itinerary prepared and did our D.I.Y. We saved a lot of money :)
This is not just an another travel vacation for me but more on a retreat. I was with my Sisters in Christ and we were so blessed to be given this opportunity to travel together but most importantly to glorify God and appreciating His Work of Hands. An answered prayer indeed! God be praised :)

Batumi Bay is in the country of Georgia....not the state! and is just east of the Mediterranean with boards of Russia, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Batumi Bay is right on the eastern coast of the Black sea which is not nearly as ominous as it sounds.
In fact, Batumi Bay was beautiful even during the offseason when we visited. Granted, there is no lively excitement, or fun festivals and markets going on along the boardwalk but it did give us a great opportunity to explore at our own pace, take some great pictures and make some fun videos without having to dodge tourists.
Transportation: There are several different ways to get to Batumi bay depending on where you are traveling from.
1. Air - Batumi Bay has one of the 4 international airports in Georgia. Prices vary heavily depending on the time of year that you are visiting so make sure to track your flights on Hopper or Skyscanner to get the best deals.
2. Bus - If you are coming from Turkey you will need to buy tickets from a company called Metro. They are the only bus that travels across the boarder from Turkey to Georgia and vise versa. (Quick travel note: currently the Armeniaturkey boarder is completely closed so if you were planning to take the scenic route you will want to check boarder conditions and political relations.)
Mini-Bus (Marchutca): From any other country and within Georgia you will likely want to grab a marchutca. They are inexpensive, travel from all the major cities including Tbilisi, and come from Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Marchutca's can be challenging as they don't run on regular schedules and you will sacrifice your personal space but they are certianly worth the price. From Tbilisi, you will want to catch the marchutca from Didube station in the north of Tbilisi.
Train: Busses not your cup of tea? Not to fear, Tbilisi has a robust rail system that can take you directly to Batumi Bay. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance from the central station as they can fill up quickly in the peak seasons.
There are two main areas to stay in Batumi so lets just call it old town and new town. Old town is right near the bay and offers a wide variety of accommodation, cuisine, and historical attractions. For those looking for a rugged, historic, European experience we recommend this part of town. For a more relaxing, luxurious experience we recommend the newer part of town, a bit south of the bay right along the boardwalk. You will find many lavish hotels, and apartments at very affordable prices. We recommend the HolidayLux which is roughly the center of new-town
Finally, make sure to take a stroll along the Boulevard (boardwalk), watch as Ali and Nino attempt to reunite with each other, visit Piazza Square and Europe square, and have dinner and drinks at the Alphabetic Tower (aka Alphabet tower).
