Florida Everglades National Park Air Boat Ride
By far the most memorable day of the Florida road trip! My dad and I sauntered our way from Fort Meyers to the Everglade city where we took an incredible ride on an air boat tour through the waterways of scenic mangrove trees. The scenic ride included birds, racoons, and yes those jaw snapping alligators!
SURPRISING AIRBOAT RIDE - Florida Gator Park Tour in the Everglades
An everglades airboat tour, viewing wild Alligators at Gator Park, just outside of Miami, Florida. It's a Florida Must See and should be on everyone's To Do List.
The ride was fast, thrilling, smooth and on my bucket list for a long time, but now finally crossed off.
We saw wild alligators, birds, fish and a beautiful landscape of the Florida everglades.
We did a lot of research to find the best value for an everglades tour, and Gator Park was so well priced for the 45 minute ride we got. It was not touristy at all, there was lots of wildlife and the ride was a ton of fun! gatorpark.com
Have you done it before? What did you think?
If you're going to visit the Everglades, you need to make sure you have one of these:
If you can't visit Florida, bring a piece of the everglades to you with these Everglades spices, with flavours such as Everglades Heat, and Cactus Dust;

5 Family Activities to do in Fort Myers
Fort Myers is a great location to visit and vacation at. It has sites and attractions for those of any age. There are historical areas of the town where you can learn some history. There are also attractions for those interested in nature. No matter what your interests are, there is something here for you to see and attend. The Fort Myers area also has a warm and enjoyable climate.
Learning about Fort Myers
While visiting Fort Myers, you can go to the Southwest Florida Museum of History. Here you can learn some historical facts about the town. You will also know why it is called Fort Myers, and what the initial purpose of the town was used for. The museum also offers and hour and a half walking tour of the historical sites of Fort Myers. This takes place along the banks of the Caloosahatchee River. You can also visit the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. Thomas Edison began wintering near the Caloosahatchee River in 1886. Henry Ford built a winter home next door to Edison. Both of these homes are open to the public. They also include botanical gardens and a museum.
Observing the wildlife
You can also have the option to walk over a slough with alligators, wild pigs, and herons at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. This is a boardwalk that is just over one mile in length. It travels through over two thousand acres of wetlands. It also includes two observation platforms and a photo blind. Seeing the wildlife in a natural habitat is one of the main attractions at Fort Myers. You can visit the manatee Park as well. This is a non-captive refuge for the Florida manatees. For the best chance to see the manatees, make sure to visit in the mornings. There are also other attractions in the park. There are walking trails, canoe rentals, and kayak rentals for everyone to enjoy when visiting the park.
View the Everglades
If outdoor nature is what you like, make sure to spend a day in the Everglades. This can include an hour long airboat ride in the swamp. After picking you up from a location in Fort Myers, you then travel to the northwest corner of the Everglades. You will see historical sites for this ecosystem along the way. You can also schedule a daylong Everglade Day Safari, which is also interesting. These transport you by airboat, van, riverboat, as well as by foot. This can help you to see a vast area of nature and the everglades.
Watch Spring Training for the Boston Red Sox
Palms Park is located in downtown Fort Myers. This is the host place for the Boston Red Sox spring training each year. This is a great place to visit if you are a sports fan. Make sure to inquire about the days and times of practices of the Red Sox.
A Shell Museum
The Fort Myers area is one of the best shell collecting beaches in America. The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum features mollusks and shells from around the world. You will also learn some ways these shells were used. There are exhibits that represent shells in art and history. You will also be able to see shell habitats, fossil shells, as well as much more.

South Florida, Everglades and the Keys 2014 GoPro
Gator tries to eat my GoPro! Being sneaky, slowly drifts towards my GoPro and takes a chomp! Nina & I spent a short 4 day trip to South Florida, we stayed at the Vacation Village at Weston outside of Ft Lauderdale. We went down to Miami's South Beach, visited the Everglades NP, took an airboat ride with Everglades Safari Park not too far from the Shark Valley entrance to the Everglades. Also entered the park at the Royal Palm/Ernest F. Coe and tried to make it to the Flamingo entrance to catch the sunset (missed it) Stopped in at Biscayne NP, but because all concessions were closed there wasn't much to do (except stamp out passports!) Snorkeled off Key Largo with Sundiver Snorkel Trips. Oh, and we also took the Jungle Queen cruise.
Fish seen on the snorkeling tour:
Yellowtail Parrotfish
Bluestripped Grunt
Spanish Grunt
Spotted Trunkfish
Juvenile Blue Tang (young'ins are yellow!)
French Angelfish
Bar Jack
Moon Sea jelly
Trumpetfish
Great Barracuda
Blue Tang
Sergeant Major
Redband Parrotfish
Yellowtail Damselfish
Striped Parrotfish

Florida Roadtrip - Clearwater, Naples & Everglades - Reisevlog Teil 2 [ LITTLE LEMON ]
Tipps für die Westküste Floridas;
- Everglades National Park
- Florida Keys (Reisevlog Teil 3)
Tipps für den Everglades Nationalpark:
- wir können die Sunset Kajak Tour durch den Everglades mit Jennys Eco Adventures sehr empfehlen

Island Hopping in the Florida Keys
The main chain of Keys islands can be traveled by motor vehicles on the Overseas Highway, a 127-mile (204 km) section of U.S. 1, which runs from Key West to Fort Kent, Maine in its entirety.
The highway was built parallel to the original route of the Overseas Railway, which was not rebuilt following the Labor Day hurricane of 1935. Even before the hurricane, road sections and highway bridges allowed automobile traffic to travel from Miami to Lower Matecumbe Key, where a car ferry connected with another roadway section through the Lower Keys.
Following the hurricane, some of the original railway bridges were converted to carry the highway roadbeds. These bridges were used until the 1980s, when new highway bridges were built alongside. Many of the original railroad and highway bridges remain today as pedestrian fishing piers.
Despite this reconstruction, U.S. 1 was not widened on a large scale, and today most of the route consists of just two lanes. Due to their tropical climate, the Florida Keys attract several hundred thousand tourists annually.
While some visitors arrive via Key West International Airport and Florida Keys Marathon Airport in Marathon, cruise ship or ferry from Miami or Fort Myers, the vast majority of tourists drive down from the mainland on U.S. 1.
This influx of traffic, coupled with the two-lane nature of U.S. 1 through most of its length in the Keys, and the fact that no alternative road routes are available mean that Monroe County has the highest per capita rate of fatal automobile accidents in the state of Florida.

Day 3 - Miami Seaquarium:
Day 4 - Miami Zoo:
Day 6 - Glazer Children’s Museum Tampa:
With our Miami vacation coming to a close we were now starting to make our way back towards central Florida. But with a few days still available before having to get back to work we decided to take a scenic trip through the Everglades. We drove along the famous Alligator Alley but no gators were to be found. Eventually we ended our driving on the gulf side of state in Fort Myers. Our hotel was in the middle of a big box store complex and glaring back at us from our room window was a Bass Pro Shop. These stores are really amazing and I could spend hours wondering around inside. My youngest daughter was anxious to walk around after our drive so she came along to check the store out and keep an eye open for penny machines that usually can be found in these stores.
