GOOD NEWS, Russia - Philippines Start Closer About Procurement of Military Devices and Technology!
The Philippines may soon make and export Russian-type weapons if a proposal from Moscow urges, said Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Khovaev.
We have a very good proposal for you Filipinos. We are ready to arrange joint production of sophisticated Russian light weapons and small arms in the Philippines, Khovaev told reporters at a briefing at his residence at his residence in Makati City.
You Filipinos will produce Russian weapons and weapons ... They will be Filipino products based on Russian technology, he added.
Khovaev said Russia wanted to build long-term strategic cooperation with the Philippines, and that President Rodrigo Duterte's visit to Moscow and Sochi in early October was full of milestones and landmarks in a new partnership between the two countries.
One of the main areas of cooperation that the two countries want to improve is defense and security.
We are ready to supply our advanced technology to help your country develop your own defense industry, the envoy said.
Khovaev said the two governments had begun bilateral negotiations regarding a plan that would also involve private partners, and that he hoped it would happen as soon as possible.
The Philippines will become an exporter of advanced light weapons and small arms, the envoy added.
Khovaev confirmed that the Philippines and Russia were actively working on the acquisition of several Russian Mi-171 helicopters for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Although it is still too early to discuss the delivery schedule and the right amount, the diplomat said he was convinced the outcome of the negotiations would be positive, and that Russia was ready to supply as much as you wanted - that is, as much as the Philippine Government could afford.
The Philippines has the right to own submarines because it is an island nation, and Russia is ready to supply submarines at very competitive prices, Khovaev added.
Apart from hardware acquisitions, Russia is also working to increase military-to-military exchanges with the Philippines, the envoy said.
Russia is willing to offer military education by welcoming Filipino cadets to train in its military institutions, and is ready to hold military exercises together with AFP.
All options are on the table, Khovaev said, adding that his country's offer of cooperation came without political conditions.

Russia-Parade/Commemoration
(7 Nov 2018) Russia on Wednesday held a military parade on the Red Square in Moscow to mark the 77th anniversary of the historic parade in 1941.
Starting at 10:00, the parade lasted for one hour.
More than 5,000 people took part in the parade, including students from military schools in Moscow and soldiers in active service.
Nearly 12,000 spectators watched the parade on site, including some veterans who took part in the historic parade in 1941.
After the parade, an exhibition of military equipment in the open air was also held to enable residents to have a close look at the weapons used in World War II.
This was a reproduction of the 1941 parade, when the Soviet soldiers marched through the Red Square and then went directly to the battlefield to fight against German Nazis outside Moscow during World War II.

New Weapons Debut in Moscow Parade Rehearsal
New Russsian weapons made their debut on Monday evening in the second parade rehearsal to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War and the World Anti-Fascist War.
At around 6:00 p.m., Tverskaya Street and several main roads nearby were under temporary traffic control to ensure the weapons can reach the rehearsal area in the Red Square. Local police also set up protective fences on both sides of the street to maintain order. The reheasal began at about 7:30 p.m.
Unlike in the first rehearsal, all new weapons, including the high-profile T-14 Armata tanks, made their debut uncanvassed.
We came to see those weapons, because the Red Square is not open to residents today. I am so interested in the new weapons debuted today, such as T-14 Armata tanks, said Oleg, a local resident.
We came to watch the rehearsal of the parade and let the students learn the weapons, said Alexey,a local resident.
According to Russian media, The T-14 Armata tank is the first type of the third-generation tanks, with a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour. There is a 7.62mm controlled machine gun on its turret, while a 152mm caliber gun can also be installed, which will be the most powerful gun for a main battle tank.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 194 weapons will be involved in the parade, including the Kurganets-25 Tracked Amoured Vehicles and PC-24 Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.
The final rehearal will be held on Thursday.
