Exotic Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka . . . the pearl of the Indian Ocean . . . caressed by warm blue waters with 770 miles of golden sands and within this, lush green land sculptured into soaring mountains towards the center . . . like an exquisite emerald, fringed by precious gold, the Land of Blue sapphires and other rare precious gems.
This paradise island of 25,332 Sq miles (65,525 Sq. Km), is only 270 miles (430 Km) long and 140 miles (225 Km) across. With sunshine, rain, marsh and mountains, and hills that reach up to the skies, breath taking cascading waterfalls, mangrove swamps, bays and beaches, land of the famous 'Ceylon Tea', Cinnamon and other spices, rivers, lakes and streams, majestic Elephants, magnificent leopards, blue peacocks and other exotic birds. Inspiring UNESCO heritage sites from ancient cities to colonial forts, with a vibrant culture including fine arts. crafts and grand festivals. Sri Lanka the land of warm, friendly, smiling people.
An island with a history of over 2500 years . . . an island Marco Polo (circa 1293) remarked is undoubtedly the finest island of its size in all the world . . . the island that Mahatma Gandhi described 'The natural scenery that I see around me is probably unsurpassed on the face of the earth'. Sri Lanka has also been mentioned by the classic Greeks and Romans, writers of China, India, Arabian geographers, travellers of Italy, France, Portugal Spain and Great Britain.
Recently ranked as Number 1 in the 31 must visit tourist destinations in the world by the 'New York Times', also named a travel hot spot by 'The Independent' of London, Sri Lanka's ability to offer incredible diversity within a short space of time with luxurious and exotic resorts across the island are among the factors which tips the balance in its favour over other neighboring countries.

Still Fisherman - Weligama Beach - Sri Lanka
An age old fishing technique that is unique to Sri Lanka. You could see the fishermen on poles trying to make their catch around Weligama, Koggala & Ahangama in the southern coastal belt. As the story says these skilled fishermen did not need a bait to catch the fish & a very special silver hook was all they had. Today it is not any-longer a sustainable industry. It is a fact that there are faster & easier ways to catch more fish using modern techniques. The communities who performed this for generations have found a new way to survive though. Tourism industry has given a life line to those traditional fisherman since many tourist do not want to miss this photo opportunity. Contact us for more details: info@passiontravel.lk

10 very cool reasons to add Montreal to your travel list - Travel Guide vs Booking
I’m proud to say that I’ve completed the London Marathon a few times, but I’ve never done anything quite like the Disneyland Paris half-marathon.The race begins at 7am. I joined thousands of others on the start line and before long we were heading through a backstage area before venturing past all the amazing rides. Then came the best bit: we ran through Magic Kingdom as the sun was slowly rising and we were greeted by Mickey Mouse and Minnie. One of the quirks of doing this race is you can pose with various Disney characters along the route.Iwas adamant that I wasn’t going to stop and I hurtled past Jack Sparrow and Goofy. But then I ran through Magic Castle and just couldn’t resist a snap with Snow White and then with Rapunzel. The race also takes you out of the park and into the French countryside, and we were cheered on by locals in a number of pretty villages.Unfortunately, one person who wasn’t cheering me on was my husband James, who had managed to sleep through his alarm call.So once I had finished the race (in a not unrespectable time of one hour and 44 minutes), I wandered back to our Disneyland hotel for a Character Breakfast. Here you can get photos with Pluto and the gang, so my young daughter Ella was in heaven. After eating, I even had enough stamina to head straight back to the park and experience some of the rides until we had to leave for our return to St Pancras on Eurostar that afternoon.Disney organises similar running events at its parks in the US. That sounds like a good excuse to pack my trainers and head off to Florida…SEARCH FOR A BARGAIN FROM MUMBAI TO THE MED Is it any wonder that cruise holidays are booming? While hotels appear to be getting more and more expensive, there are still some incredible bargains to be found for holidays at sea. However, it can be difficult to compare like with like, so I have ploughed through the major cruise company schedules and studied their current special offers and deals to unearth some of the best options at the moment… Historic: The famous Gateway of India in the bustling city of Mumbai Norwegian Cruise Line (ncl.co. uk) recently introduced ‘premium all-inclusive’ class to its ships, meaning all drinks, coffee, water and tips are included in the price. That makes this seven-day Western Caribbean voyage on board Norwegian Getaway from Miami a bargain. The holiday, which starts on November 26, calls at Roatan Bay (Honduras), Harvest Caye (Belize) and Cozumel (Mexico). It costs from £599pp based on two sharing an inside cabin, but excludes flights. Pick an unfashionable destination and travel out of season and you can find cruises that are almost as cheap as staying at home.A seven-night City Lights And Overnights cruise on Fred Olsen’s Black Watch (fredolsencruises.com), departing Southampton on December 14, starts at just £499pp for an oceanview cabin. You’ll visit Hamburg, Amsterdam and Antwerp, entertainment is included, and guests can also upgrade to an ‘all-inclusive’ drinks package from just £15 a night. It’s not just about the prices for the cheapest cabins – sometimes bargains are hidden in the overall cruise details.A seven-night round-trip from Southampton on Sapphire Princess (princess. com) leaves on May 5, 2018.You’ll see St Peter Port in Guernsey, Bordeaux in France, and Bilbao and La Coruna in Spain.Best of all, Princess is offering a ‘free onboard spend’ offer, which means that two passengers sharing a cabin will receive £50 each to spend on extras such as alcohol, excursions or dining upgrades. There are some unusual deals to be found, such as P&O’s Fly-cruises – you fly to a destination and sail from there.A 13-night voyage from March 10 next year heads from Barbados to Southampton via St Lucia, St Kitts, St Maarten and Ponta Delgada in the Azores.Prices start at £1,079pp, including the one-way flight to Barbados. Visit pocruises.com. Sleep in an inside cabin to take advantage of an appealingly low-priced 15-night holiday to the exotic shores of India and Sri Lanka from just £949pp.Celebrity Constellation (celebritycruises. co. uk) sails from Abu Dhabi on March 23, 2018 and takes in Mumbai, Goa and Colombo
