Belfast Tourist Attractions ❤ Around Belfast in 60 Seconds
Any visit to Belfast is always good - rain or shine! We spent some time recording some of its best known attractions, shops, buildings and tourist sites. We took a speedy trip around the city - so you can see what your missing! :-)
Where is Belfast? Just in case any visitors are here - Belfast is in Northern Ireland - part of the UK and on the island of Ireland. It has a population of 1.2 million people who are looking towards a brighter future.
Belfast is an amazing city (the capital of Northern Ireland as well) - with even more amazing people. The city has been through the ultimate in ups and as low as they can go - downs. It was an industrial powerhouse in the 18th and 19th centuries and in the early 1900's it was the largest city on the island of Ireland. Sad times were never too far away - from the loss of the Titanic to Belfast being the 2nd most bombed city in the UK - to the troubles that impacted every part of Northern Ireland - the city has suffered more than most (
But the people of the city set it apart, from sitting having a tea - to drinking a beer in their local town. What else to say :-) Its a crazy, small city with loads of offers for locals and different places for the visitors to come and check.
So put Belfast on your list - if visiting Ireland or even the UK - well worth considering due to the local attractions. Belfast tours are available on foot, bus, car, air and water! Travel to Belfast is easy with two airports and the motorway from Dublin.
This video features - Belfast City Hall, Belfast Shopping, Cathedral Quarter ( Albert Clock, Queen's University, Victoria Square Shopping Centre, Titanic Museum, Nomadic SS, Keywest band playing at the city bandstand and more ;-)
Belfast city happens to be one of those European cities that carries a lot of history inside and thus will be always calling out for tourists to come and spend a couple of days in. There are lots of things to be seen in the city and from those which we have been to before, there is the famous City Hall building ( we also visited St. Anne's Cathedral which happens to be a famous cathedral in the city ( and walked through Victoria Square which is famous with being a shopping destination.
In addition to those buildings, there are other things that made a mark in the history of Belfast, such as losing the famous Titanic ship and which was built in Belfast and thus there has been a memorial placed in the garden of City Hall and there is also the Titanic museum to be found in the city ( Titanic has a smaller sister which is known as SS Nomadic and which back then helped in transporting the passengers from the land to the Titanic Ship. After more than 100 years, the SS Nomadic is back in Belfast where it is now turned into a touristic attraction that people could visit (
Among those famous landmarks found in Belfast city, Northern Ireland, there is Albert Tower which lots of those tourists visiting Belfast manage to place it on the list of things they would be doing and seeing there ( And finally, through the tour we have been doing to bring this video out to life and get more introduced to Belfast, we also came across Queen's University which opened back in 1849 (
All those Belfast attractions were passed by in a quick tour taken around the city but you could of course stop at every single one of them, enter if you are allowed to, and take all the pictures that you want; just make a good plan, know what are the attractions that are located close to one another and how long are you going to spend in every single one of them in order to visit those close ones all at the same day.
There are different other attractions that one could visit in Belfast and which are also considered very famous but the ones we already mentioned above are the landmarks of the city. From those other attractions, one could visit the Crumlin Road Gaol which is an old jail that has served for more than 150 years before closing its doors and being transformed into a touristic attraction site ( There is also the Belfast Castle which is an old castle building that tourists love to come across as well (
Being the capital city of Northern Ireland is not the only reason for those heading to Northern Ireland to visit, but Belfast is also an attraction because it is the largest city and carries lots of historical attractions and places that people could visit, and it is also the second largest city on the island of Ireland as a whole.
Have you ever been to Belfast city? Tell us about your experience!
Ulster Museum Belfast | Northern Ireland | Belfast Museums
Are you still thinking about the museums to visit in Belfast during your vacation? Let us explore more about Ulster Museum which is one of the different suggestions we have.
Ulster Museum in Belfast is the place where you are going to hear the unique human story of Ireland as well as other different parts of the globe, and you will be even given guidance through the collection you are going to witness. From the interesting and exciting collection which you are going to see inside the museum, there are dinosaurs, Egyptian mummy, you will dive into the discovery zones, and a lot more.
This museum located in Belfast is for all people and all age groups because it carries something inside for all the different types of people; it has something for art lovers, for excited children who want to learn something new, for history buffs and for all the curious people out there.
There are different things to be seen inside the museum, such as the bronze age gold jewelry, the Corrard torc, which was discovered in 2009 and is the only coiled torc of this type from Ireland. There is also the Champion Patrick of Ifold, which is an Irish wolfhound that was born on St. Patrick's Day in 1923 and died in 1931 at the age of eight; wolfhounds are considered a symbol of wealth and strength in Ireland.
The list is still long, among the different other things to be seen in Ulster Museum, there is the Dale Chihuly Glass Sculpture which was done by Dale Chihuly who is the most famous glass maker in the world. Peter the Polar Bear is also one thing to be found inside this amazing museum and it is one of the museum's most famous exhibits who died in 1972 and Belfast Zoo decided to give it to Ulster Museum; it was considered the largest animal ever mounted in Northern Ireland.
In addition to showcasing things and parts of Northern Ireland, Ulster Museum is also educating people and entertaining them with other pieces from around the world, such as having Takabuti, the ancient Egyptian mummy, which helps in telling people more about how the ancient Egyptians prepared for death since they believed it is another life which they never feared. Natron salt, sweet smelling spices, resins, oils and linen bandages were used to preserve the body. The stomach, intestine, lungs and liver were stored in canopic jars made from clay or stone. Things the person would find useful in the afterlife, such as food, make-up jars, combs, children’s toys, lamps and jewellery would be placed in the burial tomb. This is all interesting to know about the ancient Egyptian mummies which Takabuti is just one of them and which was brought to Belfast in 1834 and was unwrapped in 1835.
This museum in Belfast is not just about the mummies and the old animals, but it is about history and the old stories which would be interesting to know about and even educate the kids with.
As much as this place is considered interesting for the public, there are actually lots of things calling out for different types of people, such as those Game of Thrones fans out there. The Game of Thrones tapestry is found in Ulster Museum in Belfast and it is a giant 77 meter long Bayeux tapestry, giving visitors the chance to walk by it and check this piece of art and everything else that is related to it. This tapestry brings to life the infamous events, locations and story of the most popular television series of all times, it is weaving the story from episodes 1 to 10 and it is designed by hand but weaved by a state-of-the-art machine and hand finished in Northern Ireland.
You could check this video about Game of Thrones Tapestry (
There is one good piece of information for those willing to visit Ulster Museum in Belfast, it is free of charge and opens from 10 AM till 5 PM (
There are different other museums to consider visiting while being in Belfast, such as Ulster Folk and Transport Museum ( Titanic Museum in Belfast ( and lots of other amazing things to do and places to visit in the city of Belfast (
This is one of the different interesting places which we have been to in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and which we definitely recommend for all those who appreciate art, science, history and those who would like to learn new things and information along with bringing their kids to a new exciting place which they would enjoy.

Belfast – Come to the northeast coast of Ireland to experience an eclectic mix of history and modernity. Follow our journey to Belfast and start planning one of your own.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Belfast:
Scattered throughout the countryside of #Belfast, you’ll find Iron Age forts, medieval castles, and more modern construction dating to the 20th century. Belfast got on the fast track to modernizing in the 19th century, when it became known as a shipbuilding mecca. Among the famous vessels built at Belfast through the decades are the RMS Titanic and its sister ships, Olympic and Britannic.
A great deal of Belfast’s modern identity stems from over three decades of political and religious strife. These issues have influenced much of the city’s public art, as a great number of murals and statues depict people and events from those times.
Belfast makes a great #vacation destination. The city is easily navigable on foot, and you never know what sort of delightful gallery, park, or restaurant you’re going to find just around the bend.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

HMS Belfast walk through tour 2018 | 4k
I first visited HMS Belfast in 2003 and it's still as good now as it was then. It's easily one of the best attractions in London.
Laid down at Harland and Wolfe, Belfast, in 1936 and Commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1939 - during WW2 she served with the Arctic convoys, assisted in the sinking of the Scharnhorst (Northern Cape) and supported the D Day landings at Normandy.
After WW2 she headed to the Far East and was later to be one of the first British units called into action in the Korean War.
Destined for the scrapyard in the 1970's, but thankfully saved, preserved and open to the public to this day. If you're interested in history/military history then you'll definitely enjoy the tour and I can't recommend a visit to HMS Belfast enough if you're visiting London.
I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

360 Degree Tour Of Belfast City - Northern Ireland
Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland, is always the first thought to come to mind when one considers the idea of going to Northern Ireland and exploring it. Here is a 360 degree video of Belfast to bring some suggestions to mind.
Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland that is located on the banks of River Lagan on the east coast of Ireland. Belfast is not only the capital, but it is also the largest city in Northern Ireland and the second largest on the island. The history of Belfast started when it was playing an important role as a port and also when it was the biggest linen producer in the world and thus played an important role in the Industrial Revolution and earned the nickname Linenopolis.
There are different stops to make when it comes to visiting Belfast and exploring all the historical and touristic parts of this city and every single one of them will have a story behind that would make the tourists more excited about the place they are in; be it a museum, a castle, a tower, an old part of the city, etc.
While creating this video about Belfast and the touristic places that one could visit in it, we have passed by Belfast City Hall which is considered from the most important landmarks of the city and there is also a part in it for visitors who want to come inside and check what it has (
One of the famous boats known all around the world is Titanic which was an Irish ship that sailed through its ports and then happened the tragic story that the public have now in their heads. In Belfast, one could visit Titanic Museum and know more about the history it carries behind ( and there is also the famous Titanic Quarter which is located just next to the museum (
Walking through the streets of the city is also part of exploring it and knowing more about the touristic attractions and places that are found there. The Cathedral Quarter is one of the old places found in Belfast city that could provide the visitors with restaurants, bars and cafes, along with walking around the old streets and enjoying this part of the city (
Belfast is the city that has a place for all the people with all their different tastes, and even those who are looking for a place to shop, have something to eat and be in the center of the city, there is Victoria Square that will be there to offer them all their needs (
Walking down the streets of this old city is interesting because as much as history is taking a huge part of it, there is also the street art that one might come across and witness on the walls of the buildings.
Adding to these touristic places which we have mentioned and been to, St. Anne's Cathedral which is also one of the important touristic attractions that bring lots of tourists to it ( St. Anne's Cathedral is also known as Belfast Cathedral, and it is a cathedral of the church of Ireland in Belfast.
Belfast city is not just about the different historical attractions that one will manage to go to, but there are those beautiful gardens which could be also visited and which are considered the best for families who have their kids along and want them to enjoy playing around for some time. One of these different parks in Belfast is the Botanic Gardens ( which is not the only famous one to be known there, but one of those mostly known.

Construction of Belfast, the first Royal Navy ship to be named after the capital city of Northern Ireland and one of ten Town-class cruisers, began in December 1936. She was launched on St Patrick's Day, 17 March 1938. Commissioned in early August 1939 shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, Belfast was initially part of the British naval blockade against Germany. In November 1939 Belfast struck a German mine and spent more than two years undergoing extensive repairs. Returning to action in November 1942 with improved firepower, radar equipment and armour, Belfast was the largest and arguably most powerful cruiser in the Royal Navy at the time. Belfast saw action escorting Arctic convoys to the Soviet Union during 1943, and in December 1943 played an important role in the Battle of North Cape, assisting in the destruction of the German warship Scharnhorst. In June 1944 Belfast took part in Operation Overlord supporting the Normandy landings. In June 1945 Belfast was redeployed to the Far East to join the British Pacific Fleet, arriving shortly before the end of the Second World War. Belfast saw further combat action in 1950--52 during the Korean War and underwent an extensive modernisation between 1956 and 1959. A number of further overseas commissions followed before Belfast entered reserve in 1963

Belfast City Hall - Northern Ireland - NI - History Tour
Starting the day with a different alone kind of experience which was early in the morning - around 6 AM - and which the main reason behind it was to experience the sunrise of Belfast with a view of the city - it was a magnificent experience and the weather was even good.
Getting back home after witnessing the sunrise and getting the chance to even film those cows moving around, I decided to head back home again after the sun was up and after I managed to take some good pictures for the scenes to be welcomed with the artistic children who were coloring around then playing with their Lego.
Having breakfast at home with the family was the first step in the day coming ahead and which was about visiting Belfast City Hall. Belfast City Hall is the civic building of Belfast City Council that is located in Donegall Square; this building is believed to effectively divide the business and the commercial areas of city centre (
When we reached that place in Belfast city centre where we are supposed to find that City Hall building, we parked at a place which is not directly next to the building, so we had to walk a little bit. This walking experience was interesting for the kids - we as well - because they got the chance to see those statues which were placed in the street to resemble some characters from the past - the woman who used to work both on the typewriter and while being on the telephone - some of these were unknown characters but they tend to resemble one thing or another that was famous back during the old days of Belfast.
Reaching Belfast City Hall started the real journey we intended to go to - the kids were excited about it all that they even started running and playing around the building before we even got inside. Belfast City Hall is known to be the place where the Titanic Memorial is located; in memorial to the victims of the sinking RMS Titanic and there is also the Titanic Garden there which is the only memorial in the world that commemorate all the victims of the Titanic, both passengers and crew. We should mention that Titanic was believed to be built in Northern Ireland back in the old days and that is why it is always given great attention in Belfast (
The interiors of Belfast City Hall building make the whole experience more different due to the elegance of the place and the different things it has to offer. Inside the building, there is the Porte-Cochere and Grand Entrance, the Grand Staircase, the Reception Room and the Great Hall. There are different portraits found inside the building and it is also finished with using Carrara, Pavonazzo, and Brascia marbles as well as the stained glass windows which the kids got the chance to play with its reflection on the wall - me directing them to pick the color that am going to say.
Walking through those rooms is very different - usually happens when one gets the chance to visit such a royal and old palace - because you will be moving through those high ceiling walls and those rooms which are decorated in the royal ways and you will fall in love with the whole experience - it might be more interesting for adults because they could understand at least what they are seeing or even reading which will not always be the same case when it comes to the kids.
Being at Belfast City Hall, we then decided to head to our favorite restaurant in order to have something to eat - which of course was the favorite fish and chips dish - before going back home again.
If you are going to visit Belfast and your plan is to head to the City Hall then it is important to know that there are other touristic destinations and locations which you could also check and pass by and which include Belfast Castle ( the Ulster Museum in Belfast which is a mixture of art, history and natural history ( check the Peace Wall in Belfast ( visit Victoria Park ( checking Narnia and CS Lewis Museum in Belfast ( or even just deciding to go on a walking tour or take the tour bus that would bring them around the city (
There are actually lots of things that one could see in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and lots of different places that one could visit that might even include the restaurants and the shopping places or even those events which might be held during specific times of the year, so people should always know that Belfast is definitely a place to consider and come check all the hidden treasures that it might be carrying and which people might not be knowing much about.
