LALBAGH Botanical Garden, Bengaluru | 3000 Million Years Old Rock!
In this video you can understand how to reach and explore LALBAGH Botanical Garden of Bangalore on YouTube.
Lalbagh, it means The Red Garden in English. It is a well-known botanical garden in southern Bengaluru, India. It houses India's largest collection of tropical plants and is one of the main tourist attractions in Bengaluru. Lal Bagh is also home to a few species of birds.
Lalbagh was commissioned in 1760 by the then ruler of Mysore, Hyder Ali, and was later finished by his son Tipu Sultan. Hyder Ali decided to create this garden on the lines of the Mughal Gardens that were gaining popularity during his time. Hyder Ali laid out these famous botanical gardens and his son added horticultural wealth to them by importing trees and plants from several countries.
In 1856, Lalbagh was given the status of a Government Botanical Garden. It covers now an area of 240-acre. Many trees that are more than a century old. Most of the centuries-old trees are labelled for easy identification.
Its focal point is a majestic glasshouse, built in 1889 to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales. It was designed along the lines of the Crystal Palace in London. The foundation stone for the Glass House, was laid on 30 November 1889 by Prince Albert Victor and was built by John Cameron, the then superintendent of Lalbagh. It was built with cast iron from the Saracen Foundry in Glasgow UK. Two glasshouses host two annual flower shows, one each on January 26 and August 15. In the necklace of Bangalores gardens, Lalbagh is a pendant and in the centre of this pendant is the glass house in the form of a diamond.
Apart from more than 1000 species of flora and fauna, Lalbagh is home to The Lal Bagh Rock, one of the oldest rock formations on earth, dating back to 3,000 million years. A geological monument for the peninsular gneiss formation is also a tourist attraction at the gardens. This monument has been designated by the Geological Survey of India on the Lalbagh hill which is made up of 3,000 million-year-old peninsular gneissic rocks. One of the four cardinal towers erected by Kempegowda II, also a major tourist attraction, is seen above this hillock. This tower gives the full view of Bangalore from the top
it acquired India's first lawn-clock and the subcontinent's largest collection of rare plants. This Clock was designed by HMT Watches.
Lal Bagh Bangalore is well connected to the rest of the city. There are regular buses that stop at one of the four gates of LalBagh. The main bus stand, Kempegowda is only 7 km away from the garden. Visitors can also hire an auto rickshaw or private taxi and reach the park without any trouble. Lalbagh is accessible via all the four gates while vehicles can enter only via the East Gate which is located towards the Double Road. It is around 4 km away from Vidhana Soudha, the State Legislature. Hence, tourists can club both the visits together.
Open daily -
from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. throughout the year. For the benefit of joggers, tourists and fitness enthusiasts, entry is free from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. At other times, a fee of Rs.20/- is charged. Entry for school children and the disabled is free all day.

Bangalore Palace
Built in 1887 by Chamaraja Wodeyar, Bangalore Palace is inspired by England's Windsor Castle. This evocative palace has Tudor-style architecture, with fortified towers, arches, green lawns, and elegant woodcarvings in its interiors. The royal family still lives there. On display is all kinds of memorabilia, family photos, and portraits. The palace is open from 10 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. The entry fee is 230 rupees for Indians and 460 rupees for foreigners. There's a 675 rupee camera fee as well, if you want to take photos.
National Gallery of Modern Art
If you're an art lover, don't miss visiting the National Gallery of Modern Art on Palace Road. This gallery, which opened in 2009, is the third such one in India (the others are in Delhi and Mumbai). It's housed in a Colonial mansion with a garden setting, and has two interconnected wings. The old wing features works from the early 18th century up until India's Independence, while the new one displays works from a large number of modern and contemporary artists. There's a cafe on the premises as well. The gallery is open daily except Monday, from 10 a.m until 5 p.m. The entry fee for Indians is 20 rupees and 500 rupees for foreigners. (Note: unfortunately this fee was recently substantially increased and many foreigners feel that 500 rupees is way too much to pay). Photography is not allowed.
Tipu Sultan's Palace and Fort
Situated inside the Bangalore Fort area, Tipu Sultan's Palace was originally built by Chikkadeva Raya in mud. Later, Hyder Ali started reconstruction in Indo-Islamic architecture. This was completed by his son, Tipu Sultan, in 1791. The Hindu temple seen in the courtyard of the fort is the proof of Tipu Sultan's religious tolerance. The palace is open daily from 8.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. Tickets cost 15 rupees for Indians and 200 rupees for foreigners. Combine visiting it with nearby Krishna Rajendra Market.
Krishna Rajendra (KR) Market
This vivid, traditional local market is an assault on the senses and a treat for photographers. In the middle of it is Bangalore's bustling flower market. Go there in the early morning to best experience the colors and crowds, when piles of fresh stock are being unloaded and sold. The market also sells a variety of fresh produce, spices, and copper items.
Lalbagh Botanical Garden
This expansive garden started out as a private Mughal-style garden for the city's royal rulers. It was established in 1760 by Hyder Ali, and later extended by his son Tipu Sultan. It now covers 240 acres, and derives its name from the red roses that bloom throughout the year there. The garden is said to have the most diverse species of plants in the world. Its focal point is a majestic glasshouse, built in 1889 to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales. It was designed along the lines of the Crystal Palace in London.
The garden is open from 6.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. throughout the year. It takes on a festive look during India's Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations, with a captivating show of over 200 varieties of flowers. The show also features an exhibition of hybrid vegetables.
Cubbon Park
Occupying a 300 acre area in Bangalore's business district, Cubbon Park is a popular place for walkers, joggers, nature lovers, and anyone who just wants to laze around. The park was named after the erstwhile Commissioner of Bangalore, Sir Mark Cubbon. Many ornamental and flowering trees, both exotic and indigenous, can be found there. Kids will enjoy the special Bal Bhavan play area and aquarium inside the park.
Vidana Soudha
Built in 1954, Vidana Soudha is a landmark of Bangalore, next to Cubbon Park. This enormous building is a massive example of neo-Dravidian architecture, with four domes on its four corners. It houses the Legislative Chamber of Karnataka Government, as well as accommodates many government departments. Unfortunately, it's not open to the public but is stunningly illuminated at night.
Attara Kacheri (High Court) and Surroundings
This eye-catching red, two-storied building, built in 1867 under the reign of Tipu Sultan, has magnificent neoclassical architecture. It houses the High Court and many lower courts, and sits opposite Vidana Soudha at the entrance to Cubbon Park.
Close to the Court is the red, Gothic-style State Central Library building, with imposing stone and fluted pillars. Nearby, the highlight at the Government Museum is a collection of artifacts and stone carvings dating back to the 12-century, and excavated from places including Hampi. Adjacent to the Museum is Venkatappa Art Gallery, devoted to displaying famous paintings, plaster of Paris works and wooden sculptures of renowned artist Venkatappa (who painted for the royal family). Tickets for the museum also provide entry to the art gallery.

When I'm not traveling you can hang out with me in my home town Amsterdam. So if you always wanted to travel in Amsterdam this is the place to be to get an insight in the local life without actually having to travel. Enjoy!
FAQ's:
Q Where are you from?
A I am born in former Yugoslavia. Mom is Serbian, Dad is Bosnian. During the '90's war we came to the Netherlands and I got Dutch nationality. Have been living in Amsterdam for over 5 years.
Q How can you afford to travel so much?
A I saved for 3 years while working full time and now travel vlogging is my job. I work together with tourism agencies but also do some freelance work on the side. You can watch this video: and this one: to learn more about my story.
Q What camera do you film with and what editing software do you use?
A Canon G7X Mark II and Final Cut Pro X
Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world :-)
Q Why do you usually travel alone?
A Because my friends have jobs with limited holidays, kids and partners. Also I really like exploring on my own.
Q Why do you love India so much?
A Watch this video: and this one:

Bangalore Wonderla Amusement Park Tour in 20mts - All Dry Wet Rides *HD*
Bangalore, India: Comprehensive video of Wonderla Amusement Park, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Video covers everything and shows most of the rides-wet and dry. The theme park is really professionally managed. Despite large crowd, everything seems to be in order and follows structure. The machinery used for rides are really world class and safe. People seems to be having really good time with their family and kids. The volume of water and kind of effort required to run this place is really tremendous and at Rs 730( around $12) for adult on weekends, its definitely not expensive.

Kempegowda International Airport is an international airport serving Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Spread over 4,000 acres (1,600 ha), it is located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of the city near the village of Devanahalli. It is owned and operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), a public–private consortium. The airport opened in May 2008 as an alternative to increased congestion at HAL Airport, the original primary commercial airport serving the city. It is named after Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bangalore. Kempegowda International Airport became Karnataka's first fully solar powered airport developed by Clean Max Solar.
Kempegowda Airport is the third-busiest airport by passenger traffic in the country, behind the airports in Delhi and Mumbai, and is the 29th busiest airport in Asia. In the fiscal year of 2017–18, in terms of international traffic it is the 5th busiest airport in the country behind Delhi and Mumbai, Chennai and Cochin.[7] It handled over 25.04 million passengers in the calendar year 2017 with over 600 aircraft movements a day. The cargo handled by the airport continues to increase steadily, with the airport handling about 386,849 tonnes (426,428 short tons) of cargo between April 2018 and March 2019.
