The Saugerties Lighthouse and Ruth Reynolds Glunt Nature Preserve, is located on the Hudson River north of Saugerties, New York.
I visited the lighthouse purely by chance after picking up a local guide map in the McDonalds in Saugerties. I'm so glad I made the effort to go there as it was simply beautiful. Highly recommend it.

Created by Michael Sullivan Smith, an historic preservation commissioner with the Town of Saugerties and a landmark review board member with the Village of Saugerties. This video was created to bring an awareness of the early Industrial Revolution mills, the period of the founding of the Village and the 1825 Barclay's Canal; a landscape feature which is the last remaining intact representative of the period. The video gives a background to qualify the canal as a cultural asset and states an argument for its preservation and listing as a local, State and National landmark. It is specifically designed to educate political and regulatory decision makers and activist organizations.
